Hmn... Torn here. I want the product asap, but I dont want a crap, untested, buggy and incoherent lore and setting logic gaming experience akin to ME3. Id prefer it if they wait and get it right from the word "go" rather than having to wait for patches etc. Thankfully its a game thats not going to be ported to consoles. That crap takes ages in red tape alone. So... Take your time Obsidian. Make your product epic. Get the lore, the nuts and the bolts down to pat. Release one week later rather than one sooner.

Theyve got a religious police unit that is basically a beefed up Super facist version of the GESTAPO. Not dressed right ? (Covered hair for women, anything too western at all), You get thrown in the slammer. Convicted of soliciting men ? (About 90 pct of rape victems fall into this category. Law stipulates a full confession from the man, or twelve male witnesses to get convicted for rape). Soliciting men ? three strikes you hang ! In your home town. At dawn. They did this to a 16 year old but since its a human rights violation they lied her 22. Iran is basically the rectum of human rights and justice. -Farb

It looks decent to me. The explosions seem to be the usual hollywood "Must have pyrotechnics in trailer" thing. Other than that the whole look and feel of it resembles the games pretty well. I especially look forward to seeing 47's return to Ort-Meyers little den of mischief. -Farb

I don't know if any of you ever played it, but if you didn't... you missed out. The "Hitman" series from Danish IOI. Well, the game is now a movie... and the first trailer is out. Well. As I remember Morty and Dakkon stuck with TKO through alot of stuff, several incarnations ect. Annah (if you treated her right) would also be pretty anxious to keep following you around. I allways wondered why they would just let him piss off and do the bloodwar thing, instead of trying to get him back ? Its like... "oh well. You got your memory and uberpowers as lvl 30 plus. You just go and do your thing and we will forget you ever existed." It doesn't really add up to me. You could have done a spinoff or at least have a ****eload more eastereggs if you chose. Having Dakkon Morty and Annah going on a chase around the planes to look for SOMETHING that would redeem TKO would not be far fetched. Also a lvl 30 toon in the blood war would be a significant powerhouse in fighting. Which side would he join ? Would he rise in rank ? If you as a field commander had such a fighter/mage/rogue/whatever you would be damnd interested in keeping him around, alive and effective. -Farb

LE Ranger/Wizard, Human. Favored enemy: Human. Maybe if I got to the epic levels, throw in a few lvls of thief/assasin. End up replacing Szass Tam and going to the planes to look for immortality or a pet modron/Fall from Grace as a mistress. However I'd most likely be the bureaucratic know-it-all-foppish-prat. -Farb

Pretty much everything done by Jesper Kyd. (Hitman, Assasins, Splinter Cell ect). I've bought the Hitman soundtracks and I almost listen to them every day. The planescape soundtrack is also one of my favorites. The IWD/BG series have great tracks too. Jeremy Soule / Inon Zur have made some great soundtracks over time, even if Soule seems to be a bit "conservative" in his music. I also loved the winter tracks from Medieval Total War. -Farb

Quest grinding in wow from 58 to 70 is FAST. You get all new kit and you experience new stuff. It took me about 14 days of casual, post job, post tucking in the kids and listening to the ex wifes garbage and playing for 3-4-5 hrs after that. Its decent fun and you definately don't need to group to xp. In some cases and areas grouping for xp is a complete waste of time if you run around, get all quests and then start killing. -Farb

I see MMORPGs as the future. If you can get a game that is successfull enough to get people to actively take an interest in the game and the creation of extra content (as in NwN) the sky is the limit. Forgotten Realms, Planescape and other RP worlds have great potential for making a killing if the right environment is created. More so if many people freely donate their work and skills to be a part of the experience. Take RogueDao. They are banding together to do something for FREE for a whole community. We are talking a group of people who in their free time are making a game module that seems to be compareable (at the very least) to premium modules. These people have different motivations, but bottom line is, the gamer wins. I get more for less, in this case more for nothing. I dont see that stopping with NWN. I can see it going on in the MMORPG world. If you are serious about getting experience in the gaming world, hoping to get your product and abilities discovered you would be very very disciplined indeed. Temting as it might be to reward friends and famely, if you could prove by some standart that you are "dependable" to produce and mantain a good product without ****ing it up, you will be interesting ( I should hope) to people who make games. The hobby CAN become a paycheck. If you put in the time, the effort and have the dedication. Why did people voulonteer as GM's in EQ ? Why do people make modules for NwN ? Why do people give a good god damn rats arse about a game outside of the flatscreen ? It gives them nothing... short of the experience of participating and creating, instead of just being idle_ragdol_36039356. ! For that experience alone, some people will work wonders. -Farb

The hard currency of war in this century will be human life. At least in the west. In the third world they are still stuck in the last century, (some in the last millenia) and lives matters not as much there in public opinion. We don't commit as many troops and we don't let troops occupy areas as we used to. We don't accept major loss of life (ours at least) and we are still weary of using excessive force. We are not just in the business of winning wars. We are also in the business of winning the peace. Winning hearts and minds as it were. The face of war changed. Most conflicts, even major ones, will not between major nation states such as the US, China or Russia. Russia will be busy with its border states, China with their Moslem north west (where they have been busy for years) and the US in the middle east. Strictly speaking you don't need to be there but the UN and Europe still have a fetish for waving worthless papers as Chamberlain did, so untill the next major terror attack in Europe or next 9/11 you're stuck with the part. The Joker will be A/B/C WMD's. superterror and smaller states. For instance: Had North Korea not been strategic sphere of interest and bordering to China, the nation would be a smoking pile of rubble by now. Iran is being held above water by the Russian return to old world politics and rethorics, and the Chinese reluctance to give anything away without getting something for it. Cuba will be democratic inside 5 years of Castro's death, leaving Chavez to build a workers paradise, pissing down the drain the economy of his nation whilst doing it. Africa will remain the armpit of the world, a money zink, and the reason for indignation for the next generation of popstars to bitch and moan about. Enjoy.
