  1. Iirc, his next major bankruptcy (if one such happens, which would not be unlikely if he ends up behind bars some day) would be his fifth. Gotta give him, he can sell sand in Sahara the way he can repeatedly con investors into giving him money time after time.
  2. "I did not have sexual relations with that woman!"... oh wait, wrong president. Thanks for the clarification, went back and read the linked article again (with a bit more background knowledge)๐Ÿ‘
  3. Speaking of Sisters of Mercy... not sure what happened after that, but they went all pop music on me and I sort of forgot about them ๐Ÿค”
  4. Not saying they sound the same, but they do remind of me old songs like these... Edit: They did some interesting cover versions of old hits too, including Rolling Stones' Gimme Shelter and this one
  5. Reminds me of an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system I implemented once for a customer back in Denmark (many years ago)... To test currency exchange rate calculations, i introduced 'CHICKEN' as a currency code in their system and set up transactions against EUR, GBP, DKK etc. Barter economy FTW ๐Ÿ˜‚ The customer was not impressed (no sense of humour) ๐Ÿ˜ข
  6. Doesnโ€™t really sound like Rammstein, but it reminds me of Sisters of Mercy, which I listened quite a bit to once upon a time (got a few cds too in my dusty old collection somewhere)
  7. I saw an interview on the news here the other day, where a Danish guy (with heavy Danish accent) told the reporter, it was recommended by the government, therefore probably Ok to do so. I couldn't help burst out laughing, thinking about how some of our US forum members here would react if somebody said the same on US tv about the US government ๐Ÿ˜ There is a difference though. Although the Danish government controls many aspect of life, they are probably also one of the most scrutinized governments. The press, the independent auditors, the independent courts etc. are always (and I mean always) looking them over the shoulder and checking their every move, every action and every penny spent (and on what). It's these checks and balances, combined with transparency, which allows people to have a degree of trust in the decision making process. Why would I want to live in Denmark? Too cold and too boring ๐Ÿ˜–
  8. I don't know if it was a slip of the tongue or deliberately (if so, kudos to her)
  9. The only thing I've followed recently in Australian politics was the Morrison governments Religious Discrimination law. Which, in it's original form was a Carte Blanche for people to discriminate in workplaces and just about everywhere else, if they thought somebody offended their religious sensibilities. They then had to backtrack on just about every point, first explicitly making it clear schools could not expel the kids because they were members of the LGBT(add missing letters here) community, had the "wrong faith" and similar. Basically allowing schools, workplaces, shops etc. the discriminate without accountability, as long as it was for a good Christian cause. https://www.abc.net.au/newsa/2022-02-10/government-consults-religious-groups-discrimination-bill/100818568 Another broken election promise (fortunately). Murdoch is probably foaming at the mouth at the moment. edit: Quote: "The Australian Christian Lobby said removing exemptions that allowed schools to discriminate against trans students "completely undermined" the bill." Tl;dr; what's the point of a discrimination bill if you're not allowed to discriminate against school kids? What would be next? Public witch burning?
  10. I knew it, bloody price gougers at Oxford University, lets hang them all from the street lights! Besides being the first time my gut instinct had let me down this badly, I would at least feel good with myself, that I did what I thought was best for my fellow man. No, I probably wouldn't trust the CDC in the US, I sure as heck dont trust *anything* the current Australian government tells me, but you know who I trust? The health authorities in my old country, whose advice I've been following since the beginning of the outbreak. They don't give a flying (beep) about big pharmacy companies.
  11. Had a very light fever overnight (enough to make it a bit of a restless sleep) and a slight headache today (not enough to bother with a painkiller). Not too shabby I suppose. Three shots of mRNA in a period of a little more than 6 months... I wonder if there by now are any original Gorth particles left in my body? ๐Ÿค”
  12. That isn't really how science works... it's a constant search and refining of knowledge. You can put a little Nurgle sticker on the side of your truck for every person you bring down
  13. Part of the problem with gathering proof of war crimes is, Scott Morrison and his government sicโ€™ed the federal police on the news outlets and seized pretty much all of it (what was available at the time) because it was too damaging for the government (didnโ€™t fit their narrative of good vs evil) edit: not sure if good link, sucks doing on a phone while in bed https://amp.abc.net.au/article/11309810
  14. Got my booster shot 30 seconds agoโ€ฆ. So far, so good ๐Ÿ˜ Edit: have to sit still on a chair for 15 minutes before Iโ€™m allowed to leave, might as well read some news
  15. ...sad face... running out of Rammstein stuff to post. I'm sure they have more than 30 greatest hits ๐Ÿค” Ah well, the lead singer Lindemann will have to do then. Blut ("Blood")
  16. Fusion... always a hot topic ๐Ÿ˜‡ At least, I find it interesting. Some day, you'll buy fusion cells for your highway man at the fuel station
  17. Just a bit more if the same (I was actually in the cbd that day, four and a half years ago). Who needs stadium flyovers and airshows when you can squeeze a few million people into one place and do low altitude flyovers ๐Ÿ˜
  18. You're still completely missing the point Bruce. It's not about dressing "austere" or "sexy". It's about what looked like a deliberate attempt to mimic the look and feel of a party predecessor (surprised she didn't dye her hair red too), yet without having any of said predecessors abilities. You know, imitation being a form of flattery... unless you completely botch the job, in which case it's just sad. She wasn't there for any other reason than domestic opinion polls (which are nosediving for the Johnson government because of some hedonistic escapades in the government buildings during the strictest phase of lockdowns) and wasting the rest of the worlds time while doing it (and worse, reducing the chances of de-escalation any time soon).
  19. Getting my booster shot tomorrow. Moderna this time (my first two shots were BioNTech/Pfizer). It's a matter of convenience to be honest, as I can get Moderna 15 minutes from where I live. If I wanted Pfizer, I would have to travel to the other side of Brisbane, across the river and spending hours in transit. I do like joking about mixing shots makes the effects more pronounced though. As for side effects, the only vaccine to almost kill me was the smallpox vaccine I got as a small kid, which ended me up in ICU in hospital. Never had anything even remotely like it since (actually, didn't really have much in the way of vaccinations after the age of 7 come to think of it). Whooping cough (a combo shot, combined with diphtheria and tetanus) last year, together with covid are about the only vaccines received as an adult Edit: The whooping cough because friends of mine had a newborn last year and I wanted to hang out with them. Edit2: If I'm not around tomorrow afternoon, I want my ashes spread over the ocean ๐Ÿ˜น
  20. Yeah, no netflix here, so I'll look at crunchyroll. I don't mind spending like $15 to actually purchase a season on Amazon like I did with Mieruko-chan (which I quite liked), but free is definitely preferably ๐Ÿ˜‡ So Stardust Crusaders / Battle in Egypt it is for me, I suppose
  21. Thanks for the clarifications ๐Ÿ‘ Yes, bits and pieces of that probably disappeared into black holes in my mind, as it might have happened rather fast in passing ๐Ÿ˜Š It is generally overly dramatic and stylistic, but I liked it. I might not be able to binge watch a second season immediately after finishing the first, but give it a week or two and I'll look for seasons 2. I couldn't find anything explicitly labeled season 2 though. Just as season 1 wasn't actually labeled season 1 as far as I know. Which one is the next one to look for (once I'm done with Drop kick on my Devil)?
  22. Sometimes a side effect of "paragraphs" can be beneficial for the bystanders, even if wasted on the original poster. So, even if not hitting where it's needed the most, can still be beneficial to others. Edit: Bystanders being a better word than onlookers.
