Managed to squeeze in the two Dune movies on the flight to Singapore. Not sure what to think of it (I haven’t read the books). It reminded me of a Moebius comic, except his stories are usually more internally consistent

Unless they are looking to build naval bases on Africas west coast, it’s hard to see how it would be worth the investment of resources for Russia. Propaganda? Prestige points? Ego boosting? edit unless they’re trying to pull a “Xi” on the country and strip mine it before abandoning it again

Boob plate I can live with in a pinch. I don’t mind sacrificing real world physics for a bit of “aesthetics”. Chain mail bikinis not so much. Just too silly. Anyway, sitting in the airport at the moment and waiting for my plane. Next stop Singapore then Copenhagen. Going to enjoy a few weeks in Europe

Heh, the internet is full of it. Finally showing his true colours and why Putin and Xi are his idols... finally doing away with that pesky democracy is going to be what his supporters are voting for. Showing his true lack of class with his "taking a bullet for democracy" statement. Besides lacking class, also lacking in truth. The only one who took a bullet for "democracy" was the maga cultist that got killed, all trump did was finally getting within earshot of a disagreeing Republican.

A UK export that was played a lot during my younger years. I never had any of her records (not sure why really), but the radios (over)compensated for that I suppose... -
To be fair "the system" usually came with some specific goals as well as a time limit (typically 6 months or until crisis resolved, whichever one happened first). If needed for more than 6 months, it would have to be bestowed by the senate again for another period up to 6 months...

Nah, this one looks less linear

Tl;dr; they want *you* to do what they say, not what they do....

Also an important part of a number of amino acids. It may smell rotten, but life as we know it wouldn’t be around without those proteins relying on it

https://www.bbc.com/news/live/cnk4jdwp49et Apparently some cybersecurity package has decided that Windows is malware and tries forcefully to remove it… all over the world. Affecting everything from cloud hosting over airlines to scheduled surgeries and tv stations There have been reports suggesting that a cybersecurity company called Crowdstrike, which produces antivirus software, issued a software update that has gone horribly wrong and is bricking Windows devices - prompting the so-called "blue screen of death" on PCs.

You’re laughing, but a Danish comedian once got elected on promises of more tailwind for bicyclists and free Nutella on the school kids lunch meals. He was shell shocked when he realised he had to spend the next few years in parliament. Not just as a faceless pm, but that one crucial vote needed in a hung parliament to get legislation through

Bocchi was made by some of the same people who were behind Frieren btw Edit: Keichiiro Saito being the overall project director for both (he used to work as an animator, but ended up being the lead producer/director on both https://www.imdb.com/name/nm9065841/

I sat down yesterday and started to think... (I know, better late than never, right?). How many bands and records I listened a LOT to in the 80's but haven't really played much the last 20 years. It's a staggering long list, so I try to stick to a self imposed limitation of 3 videos per post (as said, self imposed to keep my spamming urges in check) Ozzy... bought most his early albums on CD in the 90's. Both the Zach Wylde era and the Jake Lee era albums Oldie but goodie, bought this on vinyl in the 80's, then on CD in the 90's W.A.S.P. I have most of their early records on CD. Bought them in the 90's. I should dust them off and put in the player again Warning, video title contains profanity, hence the spoiler -
There, fixed it for you

Very hard to say something that doesn’t come across as utterly tasteless… no matter how tempting

Yeah, naming Putin as the ruler of Ukraine was somewhat of a faux pas

To be honest, I think Europeans managed quite well doing exactly that, long before the US was a factor on the world stage? Europe seems to have some kind of "Phoenix Like" qualities, rebuilding from ashes of previous civilizations, over and over and over. It's Darwinism in action. Shed old cultures and civilizations like dead skin cells and grow new ones.

This has to be a caricature of some kind...

Nice reading Bruce! I don't know the specific book, but Enid Blytons "The Famous Five" books were something I loved, growing up. The four kids and their dog going on all kinds of adventures, helping a young mind escaping the limitations of the physical world and go to various places of the imagination. Had the very same "red" D&D basic rule book too Good to see, that circumstances didn't completely block your access to things that interested you

Not even money... he loves adoration. Stroke his ego and any decision, no matter how inane, is yours. Notice how his role models are people like Kim, Putin, Modi and previously Bolsonaro etc.? He completely buys into the lie, that those autocrats are loved by their subjects. It's why he wants to be one too...

The 80's will for me always be a "golden age" when it comes to music... (I do love a lot of 60's and 70's band/artists too though)
