And wichts have animal souls, but I just considered the class arrangement as more a mechanical arrangement to express possible animancy experiments she might engage in. Ah, I see what you mean. But ranger still seems wrong. They should actually consider making a 12th class, "animancer", to do things like that.

A fishing type of minigame doesn't particularly thrill me either, but maybe it's more along the lines of setting lures and traps to trigger encounters. Basically bounties for sea monsters. They say it provides rest bonuses (+1 relaxation for spending the night fishing), gives you more recipes, and triggers scripted interactions (Eder: "Hey Watcher, anything biting?"). Colour me "meh". EDIT: Sorry, and you can fish out rare gear ("Just an old pair o... OMG, Fulvano's boots!")

OP butchered the definition of yandere. It comes from the words 病む (yamu - note that it's written with the kanji for "illness") and デレデレ (lovey-dovey as moose-kun explains above). So I understand it as lovey-dovey, with a hint of mental instability. Which is why yandere characters often end up murdering someone before the series is over. Disclaimer: Don't actually want anime tropes in PoE2, just participating in this thread for the lulz.

Wasn't gladius also slang for ****? Indeed. Makes you wonder what those legionaries were thinking of when they marched off to war... -

Look up the word for scabbard in Latin sometime. It's pretty amusing. You're just creating another romance thread here. Anyway, I'm hoping for subtle romance. Anything else would feel forced. -
Yeah, that's true, we do have talking statues and chairs and the Devil of Caroc. I'd actually like to know the limitations of this procedure. I mean, can you affix a soul to anything? Or is there a minimum mass/area, or a certain kind or material that you need? Could you affix a soul to something ridiculous like a toothbrush? It all sort of reminds me of Full Metal Alchemist. Anyway, I suppose like Lilarcor, comic value is best? (I really don't want to hear a sob story about a guy's soul trapped in a sword) A bloodthirsty sword, axe or dagger would be fine by me.

They discussed this in the recent interview. They say that the sidekicks have less of a narrative arc. So instead of having some deep revelation about life while traveling with you, they'll just basically stay stable. But that doesn't mean they're uninteresting or superficial. There could still be really cool character concepts.
