  1. I noticed your addition: Can you also make it so allies that get charmed or confused can still be buffed with allies only spells like those vs charm and confusion that are supposed to halve the duration of such negative effects and make sure that the charm and confusion affecting them are than halved in duration?
  2. I think I will just wait for a Steam sale when I can get both parts for 20$ or less. The main improvements come with Patch 2.0 anyways and expansions Part 1 does not fix Stronghold anyways (which ruins most of the base game story) so I am not interested that much in extra story and dungeons.
  3. I am really really hoping someone will update it for 2.0 patch once it is released. I don't plan to replay PoE without it as some of the things in the IE mod are a requirement since I did 1st play of PoE without it and I got frustrated too often.
  4. Their campaign editor does not support conversation trees LOL. They said the singleplayer campaign will have it due to them doing it manually but the campaign tools do not support it. Basically when you meet an NPC he can say something upon inspection and then when you talk to him/her/it, it is just going to be a linear conversation with no options or branching, true FPS game style. That plus dungeon design being a random generator should tell you all about this game. And base game comes with 6 classes and 5 races and they will charge you for each extra one in DLCs and charge you to get new dungeon sets and furniture LOL. And people that will be making custom campaigns FOR FREE for their game to actually last longer on the market will need to buy all that crap as well as everyone wanting to use it. It is already bad enough that you need to buy a Deluxe version now to get access to more stuff to create FOR FREE campaigns that others will be using and buying their game! This is Skyrim paid mods crap all again except 100% of profits go to the devs! Money grabbing fakes is all they are.
  5. The original had more complex hit/miss mechanics and shots that kept going until they hit something or left the area, damaging anything they hit according to their damage roll and some things were easier to shoot through than others. XCOM essentially only allowed explosives to reliably remove cover and you couldn't even target anything non-hostile with normal weapons. I think it is somewhat sad that with so many teams trying to create spiritual successors to the original and each and every one comes up lacking in some way, even the official sequels, though Terror from the Deep was pretty much the same game without the difficulty bug and horrible, nightmarishly anthropomorphized lobsters. UFO: Extraterestials Gold Edition came pretty close. And yes, it has the good old hit/miss mechanic. And even the Aftermath/Aftershock/Afterlight trilogy had a lot of things going for it (though also a lot of bugs going against it). At least though they tried to give a deep tactical gameplay. I need to play a bit more Xenonauts. I tried UFO: Extraterestials, if I remember well you start with only 6 party members per mission (or was it compared to UFO's 14 but aliens still one shot your dudes. I didn't enjoy it much. Also it s graphics and UI made it clunkier to play than both UFO and Xenonauts. I also played 2 out of 3 of those AfterXYZ games, they are cool but still not good enough. At this point I only consider Open Xcom, Xenonauts (possible with some mods as well) and Xcom EW with Long War to be worth of playing.
  6. Try Xenonauts.
  7. Never heard of them. Actually the dwarves one was canceled or something?
  8. I'm more curious what Obsidian is doing after MCA. The tank game, an expansion to PoE. Anything else? Seems like ages since Obsidian made a game I was looking forward to (that wasn't Kickstarted). Brian Heinz is the lead designer/project director on an unannounced RPG, per Antony Davis. What is the history of this Brian? WHat projects he had a notable role in the past?
  9. As has often been pointed out, the First Amendment right does not guarantee everybody a soapbox from which to espouse their insane beliefs. It does if they have enough money and influence (Scientology)
  10. Sure you right...it is harmless , but its more the principle. I have an issue with associating with people who really think its okay to say " a good raping will sort her out " ...you see on the Codex that type of rhetoric is tolerated and that sometimes leads to people thinking that type of comment is acceptable outside the Codex. Or you can just avoid GG part of the forums. I have not seen much of this (or at all) on RPG general forums.
  11. That's just handled by having a reduced DT against those damage types, which I think is a very elegant solution. Yes, reduced and increased DT is already in the game but some status effects and damage type some creatures should be directly immune to.
  12. I would really love if some creatures like Spirits were immune to things like knockdown and if such logic was used with other abilities and creatures. It would make the game more interesting and more complex while also more logical. Make it so!
  13. this is not new. Starcraft 1 Brood War pro players in Korea were caught in a match mixing/betting scandal that got some of them kicked from pro BroodWar permanently. This happened before Starcraft 2 was released and rise of Esports started happening in the western world.
  14. 1. Pathfinding is better in EE, and it is better than in PoE. Chris also said that he thinks it is even more improved in this expansion 2. They use BG2 models and I seen them also make changes to them for SoD that makes them possible even worse looking 3. Maybe with some modes, doubt it. 99% of players don't have a problem with it. 4. Maybe with mods. 5. There is no auto loot, you are probably talking about quick loot. You don't have to use quick loot button.
  15. They said 25h on average, but if you try to clear everything and don't rush it will be much longer.
  16. I certainly didn't like it because of its average UI and obtuse mechanics. EE version keep everything behind the scenes as it is, they only make the presentation easier to understand for new players. I would have gone even more radical. I would have turned all numbers into positive ones. THACO would be replaced by attack bonus so instead of 10 THACO you would have +10 attack bonus and instead of -2 THACO you would have +22 attack bonus. Same with saves and armor class.
  17. I really don't care what people think it is better UI, the EE version are trying to make the game more approachable to modern audience and that I like. I want more younger people to love BG games as much as I do.
  18. Yeah, that's what 2nd Ed. 18 Strength looks like IRL apparently. Anyway, read on KKKodex that MCA is "on board" to "help polish up the writing". From the Q&A it seems his involvement is limited to playing through an early build and giving feedback. It'd be great to know if he's done some actual writing for the game. Personally I'm not impressed with the UI changes (accessibility!) but it's likely trivial to revert to at least the default EE version. On the plus side, they will be patching the new class -and logic suggests the new spells too- into BGEE and BG2EE. The Q&A: It is more than just playing the early build, they said they gave him all the design documents and gave the pages of feedback on it all and they are changing the game based on that. Also, SoD will be an expansion for BG1EE and all changes will automatically work on BG1EE. For BG2EE they said they will patch it in later.
  19. So now there are two problems, one with AI off and another with AI on :D
  20. If you are buying a buggy version you are sending the developers a message they can release buggy games
  21. Well I suppose it's possible they (intentionally or otherwise) changed SOMETHING about auto-attacking, like the range, so perhaps that's what he means, or whatever. To be precise though it is 100% absolutely still the case that after the old target dies, melee units will move to a new target on their own, often with disastrous results, like moving into an AoE spell you carefully positioned to be right next to your tank to maximize enemies affected. That pisses me off immensely when using a wizard. This is one the biggest enjoyment killers in the game for me so I really hope they fix it. I guess I am back to wanting this fixed for v2.0
  22. Bad idea. Xcom Enemy Unknown was a bug fest at release and for a few months later. And the infamous teleport bug was not fully fixed until the expansion.
  23. No such luck, your melee will still derp into that chill fog as retardedly as ever. Now I am confused as Nobear said they no longer auto attack for him.
