A bit of both, I'd imagine, if you've been in my place. Thankfully it's mostly drama-free so far, so there's that. Jugg or sin depending on who the offtank is -- but mostly jugg. Just started gearing up a PT too.

Alpha Protocol taken down from Steam, still belongs to Sega

Coming Soon to Microsoft Store? Dammit, ten years already... -
Yeah, most likely due to soundtrack licensing concerns. But what if MS had bought the IP from Sega... a guy can dream.

SWTOR. I got talked into tanking for a NiM prog raiding team...

Trust me, no one is more surprised than me. But I'm hoping it's less forumcop and more caretaker. And you know the saying. If you can't beat 'em...

As Gfted1 commented: I feel I haven't been reaching my desired levels of insufferability since the boards update, and clearly this is the cause. I can barely tell when someone wants to emphasize something (but not too much)! In addition, I'm not sure if/how importing quotes from other threads is supposed to work anymore. Used to be that the format went: [quote name='user' date='date' post='post#']text[/quote] And that would be interpreted into the appropriate quote box with the corresponding link to the original post. Now it just creates a plain quote box without any info. So another vote for BBCode mode.

Thanks all! I look forward to... not screwing the pooch excessively.

I can absolutely believe that you prefer BG1 to BG2 or whatever. I have no problem with people preferring the exploration of open wilderness areas to the mostly urban and closed setting of 2. That's cool. Different strokes and all that. What I have a hard time understanding is how a mechanically simpler game means a more immersive experience. Because it's the shallow mechanics and lack of tactical options that make it more immersive for you, yes? Otherwise, immersion and the feeling of being a hapless pawn could be achieved through narrative means and atmosphere building, and this would be a moot point. Arguments about "realism" in this context, though, immediately remind me of the old debates about the merits and flaws of boobplate... We simply aren't going to see eye to eye on this one, I think.

I think there's a lot of romanticizing going on around here. Yes, getting your first +1 dagger was a mind-blowing milestone, but I don't see how being a 6hp mage with 1 Magic Missile per day or being restricted to autoattack as a fighter type was fun or engaging in any way. I'm all for feeling underpowered in a world where danger lurks behind every shadow, but most of BG1 felt like playing chess with pawns only. No tactical depth to speak of. Bar's pretty low set for Larian, if it's BG1 gameplay people want to compare to.

Coincidentally, Trump tweeted a few days ago that Russians have left Venezuela -which has been denied by Russia- and the border with Colombia has been partially reopened. Tensions decreasing in that region, it seems, after Guaidó's efforts to restore democracy by means of a military coup definitively failed in late April. And then suddenly tankers start blowing up in Hormuz. Good thing that crises that threaten the vital interests of the US know to wait for the previous one to subside before happening!

Oh ****. Magic Missiles fired!

Nah, not the reptoids (that's a hoax spread by Zeta Reticulans), but the ruskies. Even The Grauniad has reported that they have weaponized whales. Clearly they are up to their old tricks again.

I was not expecting that. As always, though, no matter what, the lawyers always win. For a more exhaustive breakdown of the terms, including mention of the fate of the UQM fan project, clicky. Now there's really no excuse for F&P not to make some headway on their totally not vaporware GotP game.

Well, at least dancing like a maniac is back.

Yeah, but while they rationalized it away, my brain kept going "optimization for controllers". Presence + Dominate for Ventrue could be somewhat redundant mechanically -- even if they were needed for leading from the front as they were known to do. But taking Presence away for Brujah for instance is kinda crippling and I fear it may severely restrict the Clan's playstyle. Guess we'll have to wait and see, but I honestly can't think of a single game that benefited from having its design constrained by the need to play with a controller.

Is that Grey DeLisle? And why is no one talking about the whole "only 2 disciplines per clan" thing?

To be fair, I doubt the boards log anything beyond basic user data, which is trivially easy to obfuscate. Moderators simply giving suspected sockpuppeteers enough rope to hang themselves with is no doubt a wise policy.

https://translate.google.com/#view=home&op=translate&sl=sv&tl=en&text=skarp https://translate.google.com/#view=home&op=translate&sl=sv&tl=en&text=en No doubt entirely coincidental. Hell, it's so ****ing blatant that at this point I'm inclined to believe it's actually someone else just trolling, which is why the mods haven't shot him down yet.

IIRC there was a menu toggle that allowed for hands and feet to be chopped off occasionally when you killed someone with a lightsaber. The console commands allowed you to crank it up to 11, removing heads, cutting people in half, etc. As above, I'm giddy with anticipation to see how EA will manage to botch this one.
-
Yeah, odd. I thought it was a rating thing, but apparently it's provisionally rated PEGI 16 (no ESRB rating yet). Jedi Academy was PEGI 12, and it contained appendage chopping galore. Perhaps in the final version.

It is priceless to be lectured on the inner workings of discipline and punishment by some schmuck who clearly doesn't give a toss about rules and breaks them simply because he can. The irony is, I dare say, rather sharp.
-
True, but that's not terribly relevant. If the thing at the tip of your "disciplining implement" is that much lighter, it will travel that much faster, again by virtue of momentum conservation*. How heavy is a bullwhip's tip? How fast does it travel? How much does it hurt? The really important factor is how long the sock is. *apparently it's even more complicated than that, but eh
