  1. I like Kyle. He seems to be one of the few Jedi who hasn't got a stick up his a**. Not to mention he's not some uber lamer like most of the EU chars. A pity he keeps that bantha herder outfit, the MotS one was so much better.
  2. Oh. So where did you get that from? I spell it 'Nihilus' because it's what that guy's picture is labeled here in the avatar control panel. I guess Obsidian is wrong naming their own characters and you know better. Luckily for them you're around. I feel better already.
  3. Considering Nihilus is always portrayed as the opposite of Atris, I'm guessing he(she?) will only be the final boss if you go LS. If you go DS, It's possible you will have to deal with Atris after she's smacked the sh*t out of Nihilus. She strikes me as the kind of chick which would relentlessly hunt down lil' darksiders throughout the galaxy... " Ok, you may tear this down... now.
  4. Err... yeah. That's exactly what I meant. I'm tired so I guess I can't very well write down what I think I'm thinking. I always thought it was not very consistent to have the Big Bad Hero guy of the story be exactly the same level as the rest of his companions, even more so considering that he was some kind of a gifted unique person. So, last time I played K1, I stopped leveling up the NPCs at level 14-15. I still found the game too easy though...
  5. Xbox isn't the enemy. Not even Billy boy is. It is that evil little man Lucas who is responsible for not releasing RotS for PC. The revenge of PCers will be swift and terrible... ps. RotS is being released for the PS2 as well... lucky me. (w00t)
  6. I don't know about that. Darth Bane wasn't the 'leader' of the Sith at his time, and in the end he was proven to be one of the best Sith ever. The fact that Malak was the leader of the Sith at the time doesn't rule out the possibility that some of his dark Jedi would have eventually bested him. Just because these new Sith weren't powerful enough to beat Malak back then, doesn't mean they are weaklings today. Remember that Malak was at the peak of his power, and was using the SF to empower himself. He must have been one tough nut to crack, from a story standpoint. Besides, there's still the question of why are there 3 visible Sith lords, instead of just one. There should be a clear leader, but speculation aside, there is not. And since the Sith impose their rule by power, the logical conclusion would be that none of them is more powerful than the others.
  7. Nah, the devs would have been driven mad by hosts of Darth Maul wannabes whining about dual wielding 'sux0ring'. Remember this is a game not for the sentient gamer, but for the 'casual' one, whatever the f*ck that means. "
  8. That's assuming an awful lot. We still don't know where these three came from; they might have only shown up after Malak's death. And I hardly think they'll make these three weaker than Malak, given that by the end of the game we'll be stronger than Revan. Where's the fun in that? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This brings back the eternal discussion. Do game mechanics have a meaning storywise? I don't think so. Granted, the PC will be level 30-40 at the end of the game, but that doesn't mean the PC will be twice as powerful as Revan was at the end of K1. That's absurd. Revan was supposed to be an epic character, and I'm guessing the new PC will be as well. So was Malak, but again, having a PC that by the end of the game would be able to mop the floor with Malak makes no sense storywise, since it would be so anticlimactic. And since Revan had 5 years to become more powerful, I doubt the PC will be more powerful than him/her (that's assuming Revan's still alive). In any case, Malak managed to keep the Sith united under his rule, and it was a rule by force. So, unless they give a pretty convincing explanation, it makes sense that the new 3 Sith lords stepped forward to fill the power vacuum left by Malak's death. If that means we'll be playing a less powerful character than Revan was (again, from a story standpoint), that's fine with me. But no way I want TSL to follow the EU tendency to get more and more powerful characters each time. Enough is enough.
  9. Yes, that's always a risk. You see, Palpatine was a little nice girl before she uncovered the secrets of the dark side.
  10. You haven't seen what I can do with KotOR tool.
  11. I'll have to wait for the PC version anyways, since that pink text damaged the hell out of my eyes and I'll need 2 months to recover. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There's this healthy habit of highlighting eye-hazardous text. If it wasn't for it, I'd sure be blind by now. I will probably get the PC version in 2 months. Which doesn't rule out the possibility of emulating the beta... err I mean Xbox version nicely on my PC.
  12. I believe that, for starters, dual wielding feats should have a high DEX requirement. In the pnp you really had to focus your character towards dual wielding to get the most of it, which usually meant spending all of your feats in dual wielding/ambidextrosity(sp?). But considering that now the level cap has been risen, feat number is no longer an issue. I think dual wielding should be extremely uncommon, and very costly for players who wished to pursue it. After all, the benefits more than make up for it.
  13. I was led to believe KotOR used a modified version of the NWN engine?
  14. That's what it seems. However when he died, he became one with the Force, so it might be possible for him to manifest as a Force ghost.
  15. I know that localization takes time. It doesn't mean that the game is delayed for everyone, though. You see, both of those games made it to their planified shipping dates. Magic? No, efficiency on the publisher's part (and I HATE VU). Lucasarts and possibly MS screwed this, big time, and now they won't come forward and explain why. Don't forget that Canadians get it early as well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So, Canada is no longer part of north america? Interesting. I'll keep that in mind.
  16. Glad my ass, dude. I won't be whining around because of the two month delay, but don't expect me to give thanks for being treated as a second-class customer. That post might explain why the PC version has been delayed, but it doesn't explain why the international Xbox release has been delayed too. Halo 2 had a simultaneous worldwide release. So did Half-Life 2, which proves it can be done. For some reason american Xbox players have been given preference above all other, and that reason hasn't been explained yet.
  17. Is that a threat?
  18. I foresee the following sentence is going to be the most repeated over the next few months: 'Search Is Your Friend'.
  19. Hmm. Nadd's spirit was destroyed by Exar Kun. I don't think there's an easy way to bring him back. Maybe it's got something to do with all the Sith baubles he was buried with. Queen Amanoa and King Ommin are both buried there too, so maybe it's not Nadd the Sith want something with.
  20. Yep. What I meant is that a DS Revan could give meaning to Canderous being the Mandalore, but not LS Revan. And there's a difference between a group of people being effective as mercenaries, and the same group of people actually working efficiently within an established armed force, even more so considering the clans were scattered and they had had most of their weaponry destroyed. I think it would be more work to bring them back to their former glory than it's worth.
  21. Ok. I won't say it's lame EU. But you can't prevent me from thinking so. ) How do you know it's Anakin who kicks Mace's ass? Legit question. Anyway, I don't think there's an answer for this question, since EU characters are so overpowered compared to the movies. If they were any more powerful, they would be gods, so... all of them have attained REAL Ultimate Power.
  22. No. Don't mistake stupidity for fun.
  23. If Revan went LS then Candy still could have been Mandalore, except instead of using the clans to help Revan conquer, he'd just help them to rebuild. He says that the clans could be reborn under either the republic or the Sith. It's a clue. I'm not saying I'm not wrong, but it seems to be an awfully good bet that he could be Mandalore. *holds up sign* CANDY FOR MANDALORE! Hmmm...that looks different than I imagined lol... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ummm... no. Canderous said he was no longer interested in killing and fighting. It is possible that Revan (DS) could convince him, if only to have the clans under his wing, even though I don't think it would be easy to convince Canderous. Besides, the mandalorian clans were broken after the war and I don't think they were worth much as a fighting force at that time. LS Revan would have no interest in rebuilding the mandalorian clans, and therefore Canderous wouldn't have any business being Mandalore. The Mandalore is a war leader for a war loving people. Peace is not their strong point. Anyway, Canderous is a Bioware character, and I don't think Obsidian would want to give a character they didn't create too much importance. They'd be better off making up a whole new Mandalore. I sure hope they have not made Canderous the Mandalore... it wouldn't be consistent.
