  1. No. But you get to beat everyone into a bloody pulp real good. You can't beat the feeling.
  2. Silent Assassin and Contracts are great games, but they are probably a bit dated by today's standards. Contracts is a rehash of Codename 47 and Silent Assassin missions without a coherent plot of itself, which means that unless you have played those two, you'll find the game somewhat unremarkable. Blood Money doesn't require that you have played any of the previous titles in order to follow the plot, so just get that one, as it's undeniably the best of the saga. There's always room for getting the others if you really like the theme and must absolutely play them.
  3. If I'm remembering correctly, there should be one of those boxes in the alley on the right side of the house harboring Mark II and his gang, next to the unsuspecting bird and trash container. The Commando is the easy one to get. The "Kazo TRG", on the other hand, is a bitch, as there may or may not be a container nearby, given the random location of the sniper.
  4. I always recommend AIDA32. The project was shut down some time ago (not more than a year, methinks), so I'm not sure if/how newer hardware is supported, but I guess it's just a matter of trying. Apart from that, it's an awesome tool.
  5. And why is that? Because you know they aren't going to get involved in a war they can't win. And it's not because they fear the overwhelming might of the Swedish military, I assure you. If you really believe they wouldn't try to "spread the revolution" as far and wide as they materially could, you are either deluded, or plain ignorant. It's lovely of you to try and dismiss my opinions as those of a mindless right-wing drone. However, you'll be hard pressed to find any quotes from myself in which I express clear personal satisfaction at US foreign policy. And next time, try to actually put something tangible in your post, as ad hominem and appeal to common belief fallacies are just worthless filler, and they don't really contribute anything to the debate. I know old habits die hard, but please, just quit being the demagogue. It gets old real fast. )
  6. No? LOL Aye, the world is a perfectly safe place, where threats like North Korea, Iran, and possibly even China and (up until the 90's) Russia only exist as figments of the imaginations of those madmen that run the world. Aye, militaries only exist because some boys like their toys too much, and they think it's nice to go on parades in foreign countries. Cheers from the gingerbread house! Too true. We should forbid cars. And while you're at it, how about we outlaw coronary disease as well, seeing how it's the first cause of death in the western world and all...
  7. No idea, to be honest. If it does, however, there must be a reason for it. I hear jews worldwide have a somewhat considerable economic power. It could be one of those crazy ass conspiracy theories, too. That's none of my business, really. I'm operating at the individual level and it's not one of my priorities to expose cowards. In any case, I can't see any benefit coming from people being labeled cowards or not accurately. They do know who they are though, and that's enough for me.
  8. I didn't say it would. I was just addressing your statement that mass enlistment would drive to economic collapse. Anyway, those two are completely unrelated issues, as someone doesn't need to join up to be willing to fight for what they hold dear. That's what Wals' comment was about, and that's what I was commenting on as well. I wasn't sure you were trying to go that way, but saying that "I'm not serving because somebody needs to run the country" is just a poor excuse. Note that I don't advocate compulsory service, as I believe that a voluntary, highly specialised professional military is better than massive conscription-based armies. Also, I respect people that choose not to serve for whatever reasons, except cowardice. Not because I believe in glorious bravery or any of that militaristic rhetorical crap, but, because as I said before, cowardice is just another form of immaturity.
  9. I've just exhausted my DDO trial account. As a MMORPG, it sucks. 100% static world, no PvP whatsoever, loads of stupid ass design decisions geared towards preventing powergaming and making solo play impossible. Useless guild system, and a rather unfaithful conversion of the D&D ruleset. Also, I have been unable to locate a single user that was willing to actually role-play. The atmosphere and the co-op aspect of the game are its only redeeming points, however, as going through some quests with your party can actually be fun. I sure hope they add much needed extra content (druid and monk classes come to mind), because at this point it looks like you could do and see everything in less than a month. That's not really too bad, considering you can get it for
  10. Strictly not true! Just look at Israel where everyone that isn't suffering from a serious physical disability must serve in the army for no less than six years, or something like that. Anyway, it's entirely possible that I just made that up given my present level of intoxication, but I think I remember something along those lines. You go and check it out and prove me wrong, or not. )
  11. Well, it's just that some people are cowards. Simple as that. Nothing really wrong with that, apart from the sad fact that they depend on better people than themselves for their welfare. What really amuses me is that some cowards are too afraid to even openly declare their cowardice, choosing to conceal it behind lame rhetorics and land-of-candy style idiosincrasies instead. Cowardice is just another form of immaturity.
  12. OMG!!1 Big, uniform-clad hunks stalking you day and night! The wet dream of uh... some people I'm sure.
  13. In fact, you don't need to carry the weapons with you. Just find one of those black weapon containers that are spread around the map (like the ones from ICA supplies) and place the rifle(s) you want to conserve in it. At the end of the mission, they are added to your available arsenal for use in the future. It sucks however that you can't use the larger rifle cases (like the one used to conceal the Dragunov in the tutorial) to carry other rifles, barring the FN2000. It severely limits the usefulness of non-concealable guns.
  14. Maybe the same people that came up with the idea of human rights for apes... "
  15. Awesome. (w00t) Take that, you dirty commies! As for the compass one: Your political compass Economic Left/Right: 1.50 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.49 According to that I'm standing right up there with G. Schr
  16. Why, what a silly question. Of course I don't do it to serve the government (who the hell wants to serve a government that is all for granting human rights to simians, anyway?!). I just want to "shoot things". Well, that, and the fact that I've repeatedly failed at getting into academic life are my reasons for joining. Heh. Do you know if being missing a testicle is enough to be declared inept? You can't serve (as an officer at least, not sure about plain troops) here unless you have a perfectly complete reproductive system. What with not being ballsy enough and all...
  17. What can I say Sur, it's not like you folks don't know me. Aw, that almost hurt. Tell you what, I'll leave humor to those qualified for it when you do the proper with sarcasm. How's that sound? Anyway, I'm all for discussing topics. But when people make broad generalizations (in a rather provocative fashion) and go around flashing their credentials (and OMG personal experience!) as all the justification they need to talk rubbish, I tend to snap. And hey, one last thing. Your newly-acquired degree in psychobabble doesn't give you carte blanche to patronize. Deal with it. EDIT: Oh, almost forgot:
  18. -"I must agree wholeheartedly with the young lady here. It's a proven fact that due to men's cranial structure they are substantially retarded emotionally speaking. It's also a proven fact that men's expanded cranial capacity gives them increased intelligence and sometimes even telekinetic abilities. Also, everyone knows that if they teach it at uni, it must be true, and will always be as it's the case with the undeniable truth derived from phrenology and craniometry."
