  1. Actually, these gloves aren't the wonder I had thought them to be. The bonii on kill do not stack, only the +duration does. That means on kill, you get : +10% speed +4 deflection (5 all defenses, -1 from lost resolve) +3 will (5 all defenses, -2 from lost resolve) +7 concentration (10, -3 from lost resolve) +5 fortitude +5 reflex That would definitely not warrant replacing the Glittering Gauntlets, if they weren't bugged for unarmed attacks. I confirm the Endurance gain issue -.-
  2. Been playing 3.02-beta for a few hours here, hasn't broken my save file yet. Oh and you're wrong about people not reporting things because of the lack of patch notes; I've reported 2 actual bugs so far. They were, however, present prior to 3.02-beta. But yeah, the lack of patch notes... meh -.-
  3. Our experiences differ, I switch zones very frequently here, because I'm at late game and playing the completionnist, doing every possible quest and picking every possible lock. Seeing these load times : - date from Release - actually augment with how far into the game one progresses I still believe they are tied, somehow, to the way objects are stored in the save file; objects like all the junk that's been generated as loot, and then sold to vendors. I shall try a brand new playthrough on 3.02-beta, see if it was fixed at some point or whatnot.
  4. Does that mean the load times won't be painful ? Load times on PoE are fine. Either you need a new computer or are far too lost down the instagratify me road. No they most definitely are not. 20ish seconds to load a 16mbytes compressed save is ludicrous. I'm running PoE from a beast of a computer and the (late game) load times are certainly not fine. - i7-3820 - 32gbytes of actual brand RAM, aka not stupid noname with sluggish timings - 840 pro SSD from samsung - Areca hardware raid1 sporting 2x western digital red HDDs - who cares about the GFX at this point, but then, asus GTX 980 Ti I've tried moving PoE from the hardware RAID to the SSD and the loading times have not improved. So yeah, agree to disagree here. Agree to disagree very much.
  5. FYI, as of 3.02-beta : 1/ the Mourning Gloves also give -1 resolve for +20s per kill (oh and it's +10 concentration, not +30) -1 Resolve translates to -1 Deflection, -2 Will, -3 Concentration. So in effect, you actually get +4 deflection, +3 will, +5 other defenses, +7 concentration. 2/ the Glittering Gauntlets are bugged and do not proc from unarmed attacks.
  6. Now, I'm only the elected voice of my own self, but I think I speak for (roughly, give or take) 100% other players when I say one could wish for training dummies in Caed Nua, or some other lore-friendly way of testing character builds, spells, and item synergies. There could be several dummies, with different levels (say 4, 8, 12, 16), and possibly even toggle-able resistances and presets (heavy plate, squishy, mage with several defensive spells up...). What say you ?
  7. Aaaaand back I go to wiki editing ^^ My thanks for the clarification Incidentally, this also means that if one is to get the steam achievement for doing one adventure of each, one might need to save scum a bit, for the minor ones, prior to upgrading their keep/hirelings. Unless it works through multiple playthroughs.
  8. Actually, I seem to have a problem here. I'm on 54 prestige : 30 base 17 hirelings 7 misc Following your calculations, every time I progress a quest I should get 54 +2d50 = 55 < x < 155, which would always net me an Adventure, and at least an Average one at that. It seems that it is not the case. Might there be another factor in play ? A timer, a random factor other than the 2d50... ?
  9. DESCRIPTION -- After doing the frost wall thingy quest for Rymrgrand in Oldsong, one gets to speak with Ondra when delivering the quest in Twin Elms. If one has finished WM2 and made a non-PC character repeatedly slam the hammer on the crystal wall, one is allowed the dialogue option: "You cost me someone that meant a great deal to me." As a matter of fact, my non-PC Chanter is alive and well, thank you very much. I assume this had to do with having the Diving Helmet. Either way, the dialogue should check the character's actual death. ENVIRONMENT -- This is vanilla with no mods, patched to 3.02-beta but the bug happens on 3.01 as well. This is a clean install from 2 days ago. This is an old save from summer 2015, before 3.0 and WM. WM2 finished. Non-PC character survived the collapse. Non-PC character is NOT in the party. HOW TO REPRODUCE -- 100% reproducible. ATTACHMENTS -- Nay.
  10. Does not work on Unarmed attacks either, regardless of character class. https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/85416-bug-302-beta-glittering-gauntlets-do-not-apply-dazed-on-monk-unarmed-attacks/
  11. DESCRIPTION -- The Glittering Gauntlets is an item one obtains from Legendary Adventure The Glass Tree. They add 9 deflection and are Dazzling: Characters hit by Self: Dazed for 6.0 sec Rapid testing seems to show that the Dazed effect does not proc on my monks' unarmed attacks. It does proc on my barbarian's armed attacks. Edit: testing yields the following results, tests run on Adragan and Kith : Monk unarmed : no proc Monk armed : proc Barbarian unarmed : no proc Barbarian armed : proc Barbarian armed carnage : proc ENVIRONMENT -- This is vanilla with no mods, patched to 3.02-beta but the bug happens on 3.01 as well. This is a clean install from 2 days ago. This is an old save from summer 2015, before 3.0 and WM. The Monk has Lavender Wreath which applies Sickened on being hit. The Monk has Enervating Blows which apply Weakened on crits. The cyclopedia lists neither of these as overriding Dazed, Dazed does not show up on the enemy at all, not even as Suppressed. HOW TO REPRODUCE -- 100% reproducible, unarmed attacks do not trigger the Dazed proc. ATTACHMENTS -- Nay.
  12. Well, the savegame predates 3.0, it may even predate 2.0 altogether. It is, indeed, plagued with very long load times. I suspect it has to do with the awful amount of loot I've sold to vendors, which does have to be stored somehow.
  13. FALSE POSITIVE DESCRIPTION -- In Stalwart, turning in "Bounty: Magran's Faithful" to Asca completes a whopping EIGHT stronghold turns. Before turning in, I have Legendary Adventure "A Glass Tree" active with 4 turns remaining. After turning in, it's completed. Before turning in: turn 179 done, actual 180 After turning in (and not taking any subsequent bounties, I immediately exit dialogue) : 186 done, actual 187 ENVIRONMENT -- This is vanilla with no mods, patched to 3.02-beta but the bug happens on 3.01 as well. This is a clean install from 2 days ago. This is an old save from summer 2015, before 3.0 and WM. HOW TO REPRODUCE -- 100% reproducible, with the same savegame. Afraid I have no other saves to try reproducing on. ATTACHMENTS -- Screenshots before/after. Output log. No savegame since it's 16MB and the forums won't let me. Edit: oh well, can't seem to edit the title -.-
  14. what difficulty level is this? and what's order of your main? ...... just trying to figure out why I can't make my main Pally work....Pallegina is great I agree, specially as her order skills are entirely unique and useful....... You really need to tell your brethren what you consider "makes [your] main Pally work". Do you want him to maintank ? offtank ? dps ? buff ? debuff... ? IDK... 'cause if you wish for him to output more single target DPS than a specialized monk or rogue, or AOE DPS than a barbarian, I think you're chasing a fleeting dream.
  15. Actually, if you do not mind me asking, when does "the game generate 2 numbers", is that every time you turn in a quest (while no other adventure is active) ?
  16. It is definitely what I was looking for, I thank you, aartz. I'm going to add this information to the wiki, if you do not mind
  17. Ah but that is my point exactly. "Some quests could be left behind", as in, you have to pre-plan. Keep the beetles east of Dyrford, for the soulbound staff. Keep animats in Caed Nua, for I can't even remember what. Keep this or that or whatever... It is, actually, rather annoying and time consuming.
  18. http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Caed_Nua#Random_Events I thank you for the answer. I have already read through the wiki and am after specifics, not generalities. I would learn to what extend prestige/security contribute, the actual odds of getting a Legendary, stuff like that
  19. So, I'm trying to min-max a playthrough where I have an entirely custom party. I've been wanting 2 upgrades for my Monk, namely the Binding Rope and the Glittering Gauntlets. The former is obtained from an Average adventure and the latter from a Legendary one. I seem, however, to only be getting Major and Grand adventures. I'm at Act 3, WM1 and WM2 done, level 16, and 52 prestige / 42 security. I cannot seem to find how Adventures are chosen, as in, is the Adventure's level entirely random, or based on a factor ? If so, which factor would that be : - keep upgrades ? - keep prestige / security ? - protagonist level ? - number of finished quests ? - current act ? - some kind of mix ? Nor when : - random chance when turning a quest in ? - every X quests ? Has anyone been able to figure this out ?
  20. Just because rogues are actually underpowered doesn't mean monks are overpowered, you know.
  21. 1/ they can't compete with damage dealers in damage output Yeah, one should hope so shouldn't they ? Ciphers, rogues and rangers are squishy and actually *dedicated* at being damage dealers (although ciphers double up as support/cc). 2/ priests [...] appropriate spells And that is the key here, isn't it ? An out-of-spells priest is just a sitting duck, while a paladin gets per-encounter abilities. 3/ priests can do better Allow me to correct you here, "priests can do better when they have spells available". Following your (misguided) reasoning that spells are unlimited, why in the world would you get a Cipher ? A Wizard can do it all so much better, cc, debuffs, nukes... This is simply not how it works. 4/ what is a paladin good for ? I'd say he's good as an offtank and a support character, both with exhortations, an aura, and the Healing Chain / Sacred Immolation multi-target heals.
  22. It is a rather frustrating micro-management experience that one has to keep track of what they kill, and if some more are available, to complete soulbound weapons upgrades. It is rather frustrating as well to try and keep some quests active in the hope that a Grand Aventure or Legendary Adventure comes up at Caed Nua. It would be very appreciated if we could have randomly generated bounties and/or quests, like skyrim's radiant engine. In skyrim, when you Such a system would help very much with completionists wishing to finish every soulbound upgrade, and get the most out of their Caed Nua adventures.
