  1. But it's still a brothel.

Couldn't we just spam it with topics about every videocard released in the past ten years and their technical capabilities and limitations? One topic for each card. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I like your thinking. I'm giving you the rank of General, comrade. We also need to rise up against the moderators. It will be difficult, as they outnumber us 5 to 1, but without the people they are nothing. For the people!
  3. Overclocking to 256 also probably isn't that effective. It sounds like a lot but 128 is enough to run most games. But it might just be a weak card no matter how you clock it. I'd recommend upgrading the card, as the rest of the system isn't too bad. You can get a decent card for about $150.
  4. Why do you think I'm the only one in the picture? There can be only one.
  5. http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/scp_v3/viewer...c=www.yahoo.com This guy rules. He prefaced his argument with "In my reality". I believe him.
  6. I bought three swords, one for me and two for the groomsmen. I had them engraved with "Friends for Life". It made for some great pictures. It was geeky, but not too geeky. Now if we wore armor or something, that would have been different.
  7. I'm the one not in a dress.

I'm afraid of change. We should riot. Burn the new tech section!
  9. http://www.gamasutra.com/features/20000802/huebner_pfv.htm Interesting article on the first Vampire game. I remember liking it, but I agree that they probably tried to do too much in two years of development time.
  10. Lot's of people are losing power, but they aren't planned.

Briere was great last season, but he also was limited due to injury. He's a little guy and will have trouble taking the punishment that top line centers have to endure. He's also, according to what I've read since I've rarely seen him, not a defensively responsible forward. That's a big knock in my eyes. Looking at Scott Gomez, he's defense first and still managed to put up points.
  12. I played it. It was very much a standard shooter. The cut scenes were decent and the western stuff was cool, but it was pretty repetitive. I'd say it's worth $20, but I felt ripped off paying full price. Keep in mind that I dislike shooters in general, I just picked up Darkwatch for the western motiff.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=172126&hubname=nhl I don't get how Briere is worth that much. He's good, but I wouldn't even say he's a top line center. It seems like the arbitration hearings are going the wrong way. On the other hand, I would say that Scott Gomez is worth 5 million. I guess we'll see.
  14. I remember my first time running through an alliance fortress and being amazed how well they captured the look of the RTS games. But I don't get the comparison, they are two very different styles of game. Using an RTS to break an MMORPG addiction doesn't seem like it will work.
  15. I stole them from communists, so it's ok. Some might say I liberated them. It was very American.
  16. http://9.yahoo.com/ Check out number seven, the insane shark jump. It's hard to believe. The host is also unbelievably hot. They aren't real, but that doesn't stop them from being perfect. edit: I watched a few more and changed my opinion, they are real.
  17. It's 112 degrees in Gilroy, CA right now, and my air conditioner is broken. It's not totally broken, it will tease me with cold air for a few minutes before shutting off. It actually seems to work fine when the weather is in the 80's, but once it hits 100 degrees, it decides it is working too hard and shuts down. Anyways, my house is 92 degrees. The worst part is last night never cooled off. It was 110 degrees yesterday and there was little drop off in the evening. http://weather.garlic.com/ So...I'm going a bit nutty in the heat, but what's the weather like where y'all are?
  18. I once bought a set of wooden blocks for real cheap. They NEVER broke! This means that I am right and everyone else is left.
  19. I watched an action flick called "Running Scared" with Paul Walker. I didn't expect much at all, I was just in the mood for some action. It had a few decent parts, nothing groundbreaking
  20. I like Bethesda. They seem to be earnestly trying to create good RPG's. They also have made business decisions that have helped RPG's in general. Bioware and them are really the only RPG heavyweights left (Obsidian still has work to do.) But for some reason Morrowind and Oblivion do not compel me to play. Sure, they are exciting for a few hours, and they are entertaining to a certain extent throughout, but something feels lacking. The main storyline does not draw me in. I lose my focus after a bit of play, it becomes almost a chore. Does anyone else get this feeling? I never got this feeling during the Fallout's, KotOR, or even Jade Empire. Even huge BG2 never made me feel listless. The biggest trouble is I don't know how to fix this without destroying the open endedness of the games. Does anyone else go through this?
  21. He's a director, he likely has more than one girlfriend. Even bad directors get at least two wannabe starlets.
  22. The hanso Foundation stuff comes from the Hanso website. They were showing Hanso commercials during the Lost episodes and if you followed the link, you got a bunch of corporate info. I have no clue what the relevance is though.
  23. I have "The Movies" and the sim part is not hard to learn at all. It's a mix of Roller coaster Tycoon and The Sims. I played it all day once but I haven't picked it up since. The actual making of movies is a bit harder, at least if you want to have them make sense, but I didn't play it enough to be an expert.
  24. That's a perfect quote. That seems to be arguing style of many on these boards. God forbid we actually respect other people's voice and opinions. Also Darque, I was attempting humor by pointing out that the more I pay for something, the more problems I have with it. Houses, cars, major appliances, wedding rings I apologize for not amusing you.
  25. Bukowski, Dick, Chekhov, Kafka, Vonnegut, Greene, Hemingway, Twain, Joyce, Beckett, Hesse. I'm missing a few dead Russians, sure. Well, my reaction was a bit impetous, I admit. Although I consider some of those writers novelists, and not strictly short story writers. Poe was one of the earliest modern short story writers though, along with Maupassant. If we are looking strictly at American's, I'd still say he is at the top of the list. It's all opinion anyways, I'm not debating it because they are all great. Bulgakov and Doestevsky for Russians.
