Apparently, the US is taking a new strategy in regards to sensitive information: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090603/ap_on_...us_nuclear_list

Geez. My average class is 34. 37 is my upper limit. I need to teach where you live!

The two in the back are clearly children. And dogs are for children too. Seriously though, I was being facetious. Like if I said I hope GI Joe goes with the GI Joe Extreme! style when they release new toys. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G.I._Joe_Extreme

Yes, Daikatana didn't desecrate a classical piece of literature. I teach my students about Dante every year as part of my curriculum. I'm really not sure what impact this game will have on that, it could actually be positive in that it will raise awareness, but I have a strong feeling it will do more harm then good.

This is done fairly successfully in LotR Online. There is simply a ton of different story arcs. You have specific class storylines. For example, as a captain I helped Boromir prepare for his departure from Rivendell, and then I got to see them off. The developers use single player instances in order to accomplish this. There are also rooms and areas that I can only enter at certain points,s o I won't run into Boromir again after I already helped him leave Rivendell. Then you have the epic questlines, which are as well written and engaging as many single player RPG's I've played. I think the whole story complaints about MMO's are overstated. It's very possible to create an engaging storyline in an MMO, I heard Wrath of the Lich King was a fantastic experience in that regard. But whatever the story is, if you don't like the gameplay mechanics of MMO's, you aren't going to be happy with KotOR Online.

Hmm...that might be the first DLC I get, nice.

Hey guys, can we start a couple more threads where people complain about MMO's? It's really a fantastic read, it never gets tiresome to hear the same people complain about the same genre ad nausea um.

Speaking of KotOR, the E3 trailer for KotOR Online was nifty.

Thanks, I'm having her play around with that now. It just might work! -
New Monkey Island series announced

I think mentally handicapped is a more polite term. This is awesome. Telltale did a great job with Sam & Max, and I trust them implicitly with this franchise. -
Vitality is one of the primary stats, it affects your total morale and how quickly it recovers when lost. Power is the blue bar, and can be compared to mana. Basically every action you take costs some of your power. As a melee character, that means combos and stuff, and as a minstrel or loremaster, that means songs and tricks. So you have morale and power in place of health and mana.

If the source material is super mainstream, then I can see an expectation of following the source material heavily. The Harry Potter franchise is a good example of this, straying from the formula would have been a terrible decision. But the GI Joe fan club is probably not big enough to warrant a blockbuster summer action movie, so the director has to figure out how to appeal to a much wider audience. If that means swaying far away from the source material, I'm not going to blame him. At the end of the day, I just want an entertaining flick.

Morale is just their word for health. Basically it explains away the whole concept of death by saying you have lost hope rather than got killed. It also explains why minstrels can heal with music, they aren't restoring hitpoints, they are raising your morale. It's a bit silly, but I like that they try and keep it a low magic setting.

I have a shooting pain in my lower back. I twisted it last week wakeboarding and after playing hockey yesterday it feels as bad as it did last week. Time to stretch and load up on Advil. Old age sucks.

Hmm...I think if you don't look at it as an actual GI Joe movie, it might be decent. Like, ignore the comics or any source material, and just think that they looked at some plastic toys and roughly based a movie on them. Kind of like Transformers, I know a lot of folks who were ultra fans disliked it, but I thought it was a fun action movie.

I don't know, a two game hole is tough to climb out of.

I've been trying to figure out some good PC versions of Garage Band and iMovie, because my wife needs that software for work. It's not looking very good, and basically I might have to buy her a Macbook. It hurts me deep inside. -
The only anti-prop 8 ads I saw were Diane Fienstein and the State School Superintendent pointing out that it is discrimination and the pro-8 ads were outright lies.

I like to buy those ravioli or tortellini packages where all you have to do is cook them. Then I throw on a good sauce and I've got the main course down. For veggies, my favorite is asparagus. Put them on a cookie sheet, drizzle olive oil, freshly ground salt and pepper over it, then bake them for about 15 minutes at 350 degrees. They taste fantastic. That's a whole meal for my family, although a loaf of french bread would be a good finish.

Actually I think it would have been fantastic if this was a game aimed at a younger audience. Very few developers are tackling family friendly software, and the ones that are focus solely on that. Sierra used to release stellar games that could really entertain both adults and children, and I think that is missing from today's marketplace. But hey, it's canceled, so there ya go. -
Taken - Very solid film. The ending was a bit meh, but overall it was Liam Neeson being a badass probably my favorite role since Rob Roy.

I'm too lazy to dig out any pics of my old helms, but this thread has some screenshots of truly disgusting looking hat wear. http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/2392127#2392127 So yeah, I guess I mean the helmet isn't horrible in comparison to everything else. I'm keeping my fashion bar low. The giant handle on my back is the handle for my second age axe. It is monstrous. But I usually sport a halberd, so I've always got some odd handle jutting 5 feet out of my back. I don't mind the look, and the weapon levels right along side with me. As it levels, I can increase certain stats and put in gems and runes.

What, in your dreams? You sound like a 12 year old. I understand you are fairly new, but that was pretty transparent humor. You might want to have a doctor examine that funny bone.
