I think I got myself a house to rent. It is a bit more than we wanted to spend, but it is a great size and and very good shape. We had three properties we were keen on, but the other two had a couple drawbacks (the biggest was no high speed internet!) and so I turned them down. It's a three bedroom house with a detached garage. There is plenty of room for our RV, even an easy place to plug it in. Lots of storage, and the landlord runs a wiring company, so there is one large room with a pretty cool surround sound system. I'm pretty excited to move in, it sounds like it will be ready by the end of February. The neighbors also have children who go to the same dance studio as my daughter, so that will be awesome. They are the ones that tipped us off about the house. I don't think I even told you guys why I am moving. About a year and a half ago we moved in with my mother-in-law to help her with the bills, her trucking company was struggling. Her foreclosure finally went through on last Wednesday, and it sold at auction immediately. She might end up renting it back from the guy who bought it, but my wife and I are ready to move on, we did what we could to help her. I have to decide what to do with my condo too. We are renting it out, but we take a loss every month on it because it doesn't cover the mortgage. Once we get into this house it will be very hard to keep up with the mortgage payments. I am looking at doing either a modification or a short sale, since we owe considerably more than the property is worth. So a good amount of stress and anxiety mixed in with the excitement

It sounds like even if Red Eagle moves forward on it, Obsidian will be fairly limited in their role. But who knows?

Eh, pretty much everything said to Volourn is like tossing gas on the fire, so you might as well have fun

Last time I didn't get one of his tirades, I got called a n00b, so I just try and pretend I know what he's talking about. Absolutely disgusting indeed!

I agree, it sounds like the teacher is just horrible at classroom management, rather than encouraging this behavior, which is what the media has kind of portrayed it as. It's still unacceptable. There are times when I get distracted in the classroom grading or helping a student out, and then I look up and some yahoo is doing something dumb, but this sounds pretty crazy. I don't think they should be tarring and feathering the teacher though, they haven't even finished the investigation.

I do use an acetone-based moisturizer, so that might be true. It makes my skin glisten.

I just remember Skynet having on of the first solid sniper rifle mechanics for an FPS. It had an amazing draw distance for it's time, I believe. Ah, the days when Bethesda branched out a bit

Oh, yeah, Well your face sucks at flaming! Ok, you might be on to something.

You know what would be cooler than Skyrim? Skynet.

I think the netiquette of people here is pretty solid. Many of us have been conversing for years, and even though we have ideologies all over the map, it rarely turns ugly. There are consequences here, mostly in the form of receiving the same treatment that you dish out. If you are just argumentative and narrow-minded, people here will treat you as such. If you show interest in your fellow posters and show respect, then you will get that back in turn.

I'll have to ask my daughter about that, she is almost 4. She is pretty convinced she is a princess.

My wife is overly attached to the area. Plus, my current school is amazing, and I can't imagine leaving it. I think about it all the time, but we've just got too many roots here. It's actually fairly tough to get teaching jobs outside of the Bay Area as well, although going out of state would solve that problem.

Our condo is just too small, now that we have two kids it would be extremely hard to return to it. Unfortunately in the Bay Area, $1200 is the going rate for two kids at a home day care. The bigger daycares are even more pricey, basically $1k per kid. I just have to keep reminding myself that it is a short term cost, ugh. Once they hit kindergarten it will get a lot easier.

I'm doing a lot of research on houses to rent right now. It's pretty expensive. It wouldn't be so bad, given that my wife and I have a decent salary, but the mortgage on our condo is crippling us a good deal. After renting it out, it still costs us an extra $1300 to cover all the costs. We also have to figure out what to do about day care. Right now we are paying $1200 a month for that, but if we move we will need to change services. Unfortunately that number probably won't change, at least until my daughter hits kindergarten, but that is a year and a half away. It will probably be tight until then.

I meant to say this in this last thread. I admire Hassat Hunter and his arguments. I don't agree with him on most points, but he is fully committed. I'm not trying to sound patronizing, I really do like his style. It's like crazy and logic got together and had a baby, and they named it Hassat Hunter.

She made a fair amount of bad decisions, the worst being when she took out a second mortgage to save her business. But the market in our area is fairly sickening. A ton of properties are worth half of what they were being appraised at just 5 years ago. I'm not talking about a few thousand dollars either, these properties have dropped by hundreds of thousands of dollars. Her house was appraised at $875,000 in 2005, and it was sold at auction today for $375,000.

My mother-in-law had her property foreclosed and apparently sold today. We have been living with her the last year in attempt to help her out, but she hasn't been able to pay the mortgage for quite a few months. Still, we were under the impression that it was going to take a good deal longer to complete the foreclosure. She has a lawyer working on it, and they have filed an official complaint with the government and will be working at reversing it. The guy who bought the property at auction showed up and wants to rent the property to her. That might be a decent way to go, but hopefully the lawyers will find a way to nullify it.

Reamred sounds fairly frightening, I'd hate to see what he is doing with that bionic arm to achieve that.

I never understood why Volourn was the way he is until I read some of the stuff on RPG Codex. Everyone here is fairly patient with him, sure we all have our moments of frustration, but no no is really attacking him. That is far from true on the Codex, those guys really bully him. I found it hard to read. But it has clearly made him a very defensive person. But really, Volourn is taking us away from the discussion on NWN, which is what this thread is all about. I am enjoying the Let's Play. I've already stated that I enjoyed NWN, despite it being a butt ugly game. I'm also a bit surprised no one went in and fixed the graphics for the OC, but I suppose no one felt it was worth their time. There are so many NWN modules that really make the graphics work, they are nearly unrecognizable compared to the OC.

The problem I have is that they control a huge chunk of local sports broadcasting. They have contractual disputes with providers like directv and dish on a regular basis. That means I don't get to watch local sports teams. Now that they control nbc, they can really put the screws to other providers. Foreseeably this can cause problems with what programming is offered online, as well.

Comcast handles a lot more than cable.
-
Comcast is already screwing me over with its contract disputes with DISH network.

I don't even like IWD, and I enjoyed nwn as a whole more than the BG series. But handrawn artwork trumps bad polygons in my book anyday. But Volo is just being argumentative. As was already stated, this is all in the eye of the beholder. My statemt was clearly an opinion, and volo felt the need to rush in and troll it because he is insecure about nwn and feels everyone here is out to get him. Which we are, of course!
-
One thing is for sure, NWN has not aged well. It is an ugly looking game. I know some mods made it look much nicer, but dang. In my eyes, BG and IWD have aged a heck of a lot better than NWN in terms of graphics.

Today I read the Game Informer article while in the bathroom, and I got really interested in it, and so when I finished I said to myself, 'Self, this would be a good time to finish up that Oblivion game that I keep losing interest in.' So I got out the CD, and I put it in, but then the launcher came up and I grew bored immediately. So I decided to post here instead of playing.
