I thought they got rid of those 'pizza free if after a certain time' because a bunch of delivery guys got in car accidents. I don't think they allow them in my county at least. I'd also say it is messed up they dock his pay. I would have just withheld a tip, I guess.

Another telling sign that the Republican party needs to change is the fact that the Libertarian candidate received the most votes in the history of the party. That's kind of like when the Green party was getting a good chunk of votes with Nader, it weakened the Democrats.

I've had enough! I'm going to re-read the Great Gatsby and put it up on youtube, so I can dissect the character flaws of Nick Carraway!

Ok, I am really confused and sad to see how much this is struggling to make their target. It isn't like they have a million dollar goal. I am shocked that the Space Quest game managed half a million and this is struggling to reach $200,000. Also, only 3,100 backers? What is happening here? I'm going to be super bummed if they don't make it, this game looks like it will be a great return to the humor and creativity of the QFG series. -
I'll never understand why people vote based on a party line. I don't even like to vote based on my Union's line, and that is tied directly to my job. This year when I read through the bio's of my representatives and senators, I looked for people who promised to work with the opposing party to do what was best for the country. I was surprised that they were mostly democrats.

I was going to compare the characters of The Great Gatsby to KotOR, but then I decided you guys already covered everything.

I hope the stag weekend isn't happening in Mexico, going camping in the Sonoran Desert isn't exactly a good idea

During his term Don't Ask Don't Tell was repealed, and the executive branch has opted not to defend the Defense of Marriage Act. It's not exactly LBJ and the civil rights movements of the 60's, but it's a step forward from simply ignoring the issues. The bigger victories for gay rights are the states that now have legalized gay marriage. That's really my big issue with the Republican party. I'm a moderate, I even favor a more fiscally conservative approach. I should be an ideal target for voting Republican. But the numbers show tons of people who call themselves moderates voting for Obama. I think it comes down to the Christian conservative base being a huge turn off to younger moderate voters. The republican party needs to distance itself from being the morality police.

I'm guessing he's making a pretty penny of the sales of the books, which have probably done quite well as the games have become more popular. Kind of a weird attitude in this day and age.

My prediction is Romney doesn't get to run in 2016. He had enough trouble with the nomination this time around. In fact I kind of think Chris Christie is planning on running, which makes his vocal support of Obama's Sandy response seem a bit suspicious. But that is just silly conspiracy talk. Seriously though, the doom and gloom from the right is way overdone. These guys are not all that different to begin with, and the republicans still control the house. What really needs to happen is both parties put away the rhetoric and start working together. Congress seems to be the most dysfunctional workplace ever.

I'll be watching this pretty closely as well. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/06/gay-marriage-results_n_2074188.html

Great post Mr. Ermac, welcome to the forum

It may not be all that funny, but it is hardly a soapbox against Romney. He doesn't make any actual legitimate political points in the video. edit: Is this maybe in response to the crazy Chuck Norris video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wg14hRntRpg

It is well documented that all dogs go to heaven Gfted On a more serious note, the concept of the soul and immortality varies greatly depending on which religion we are talking about.

I always wonder how anyone can have a child and not have some doubts about the nonexistence of God. I was somewhat agnostic before I fell in love with my wife, and then I went full on believer when I had my children. It is impossible not to be amazed when I look at them.

On second thought, that doesn't say much - Bioshock's storyline could fit on a business card. True, the only thing I really remember liking about Bioshock was the atmosphere, and at the end of the day that wasn't enough to get me through all the shooter stuff.

Dungeons and Dragons Online, Age of Conan, Star Trek Online, and Champions are all freemium now. City of Heroes was for a bit, but shut down recently. There really aren't that many strictly subscription games left.

You want to make sure the subscribers still have a reason to subscribe. If they give away the whole kit and caboodle, they lose that monthly income. It's a tough balancing act, but nothing I read in the notes sounds worse than most other MMo's. In fact it seems like they might be giving away too much, since you can complete the storylines with no restriction and that is what I considered the best part of the game.

I'm not too far into Dishonored, but I like the atmosphere better than Bioshock, and find the story to be more developed. And yeah, the gameplay is pretty fun, it's a solid stealth based game.

EQ2 has a way more restricted f2p model. In the end, they need to be able to stay afloat with the subscribers (which they seem to be doing) and count on the f2p folks as a bonus. Also, the f2p model typically allows the hardcore subscribers to spend over the $15 a month on extras.

Blank has brought some awesome sauce to this thread. When we talk about real proof or evidence, that is a fairly personal thing. For example, when I visit Yosemite, I understand how glaciers created all those rocks. But it doesn't make it any less majestic, and it confirms my faith. This is completely personal though, some people probably just see rocks.

What are you playing now - the plays the thing

AC2 is way better than AC1 so far. Ezio is a better character, and really the whole pace of the plot is moving nicely. I'm only about 5 hours in, but I'm enjoying it and hopefully it will keep me engaged throughout. -
Are we still talking about video games here?

Decided to pick up a copy of Assassin's Creed 2 and play it. So far so good.
