Takehu is the kind of person who'd hit on anyone though As for how it'd work ask Serafan. He probably knows by first hand experience. (That said why the hell is everyone so quick to get approval but Aloth? Aloth please. I just want your quest!) Really? Aloth is quicker than Eder for me, even though I am being as nice to everyone as I could. I have them both as well as Serafen and Xoti, and they are all at 1. I still don't fully understand how the approval system works. It feels like aside from the obvious "Aloth rolls his eyes at Tekehu's every word" there are some hidden approvals and/or triggers in the conversations. That is when its an alignment-free response.

Lol funny you say that, because to me Xoti is the only one that feels meh right now. But that's personal opinion. I might not like her personality, but as a character, I feel she has interesting story, and very much worth dragging around with you. As others said, first, there are no Durance and Grieving Mother (both of which I loved to bits). And second it would depend on what you mean by shallow. If in terms of personality, then Tekehu is written as vain and shallow, but he is a great character imho, with a lot of redeeming qualities. He is still a good guy, if naive, and undergoes quite a few eye-opening moments when you take him into certain places and quests. If you mean in terms of interesting - I think they are all interesting, if you get to talk to them, and hear their banter, interjections and responses. There are no philosophical debates as you had with GM and Durance, but I don't think this game, heavy as it is with its themes, suffers from it.

Wait I do have a question. If you turn Eder down as a fem PC do you still get the option to tell him to leave? (I mean that seems like a vast overreaction to rejection but I can think of one character it'd fit). I wonder how that goes. You can tell him to leave. I tried it, and he responds "After everything we've been through you want me to leave because of this?" Or something like that. You then have one more chance to change your mind, or tell him to leave. If you stand by him leaving, he will, and your party members will each say something to him. Strangely though his quest still remains active in your journal, might be a bug, I don't know since I reloaded and went with a different answer. Same. Though it was nice to see they had Serafen call Eder out on "fooling" the Watcher about his feelings. To be honest its the reverse of Xoti situation. People complain she hit on them when all they did was show her kindness. Eder is your best friend so you could argue he had never mislead your character, just showed them kindness and stuck by them through thick and thin. This doesn't necessarily equate love, or rather its a different kind of love - like sibling/friend, i think. It feels like real life.

I don't mind sappy love stories when they fit the characters, but turning Bishop from Chaotic evil **** to a doormat wasn't the best of choices. You may be right about the gods. I didn't mind it as much as was surprised by all the attention, especially since the gods didn't meddle much in the first game. But I guess since our Watcher opened that can of worms he/she now has to live with the consequences. Its like a personal god retinue around them in addition to all those spirits. I would definitely spend much more than I would dare to admit on this :D

To each their own of course, but I'd rather have original writers add more lines, than modders pick that up. While it worked great (imho) for BG games, NWN2 romance pack was.... very out of character. Again personal opinion. I do like the romances/relationships in this game. Not as deep or nuanced as promised, but way more interesting than other stuff I played. Edit: What I found weird were conversations with Ngati and Hylea during Maia and Tekehu romances. As if the gods had nothing better to do than monitor who you jump in the sack with. I get that Tekehu is a special fish, but still.

Feedback on game
Aridea replied to Suna's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
PoE isn't about voice acting or fancy animations, its about reviving the spirit of old Infinity Engine games, and there was a lot to read and the voice acting was minimal. I agree with previous posters that the voice acting in PoE is enough. The texts are beautifully descriptive and convey atmosphere perfectly. -
Absolutely agree with this. After saving the dwarf I thought I would be going to a nice sunny village (he was so cheerful about the rescue). When I entered it I was really shocked. The tree, the atmosphere, the dialogue, everything added to that feeling of dread. Honestly I did not feel like that about a video game for a long time. I applaud the developers for masterfully creating a setting that gives you goosebumps. And all this was achieved via text and some graphics, no fancy animations required.

No, it really us that should thank you. I have played several hours and honestly loving it. Its beautifully crafted, full of text and amazing detail. Gog edition and so far no bugs. Really awesome game. Thank you.

Just joining all the thanks given here to Obsidian. I grew up on Baldur's Gate and Torment and always come back to them. Newly released games feel soulless and simple and tailored for children. There are no secrets, no intricate layers and lots of hand-holding. Thank you for doing this your way and trying to create a game that keeps the beast features that so many people here love. I just wish i contributed earlier to get the cool stuff for backers. Patiently waiting for release

I think the art looks amazing. Very photo-realistic with incredible detail and at the same time ancient and magical. I missed something like that in games. Its nice to see it here. And I actually like the trolls Thank you
