What you did today
As I've seen it.. one's youth is the battle against fear and hopefully overcoming it, learning the courage to chase dreams and desires and how to fulfill them... As the limitations of childhood breaks away, you are faced with the increasing multitudes of reality, in all it's wonders and horror. Many succumb to fear of their own shortcomings - but most of all, people succumb to the fear their own potential.

Reconciling different perspectives on grieving
I'd be interested in reading that - do other cultures handle grief differently. Western culture is very scared of death, so probably. And I agree Alan, humor is imo the greatest way. I've always felt mourning was essentially a very lonely experience, where celebration and humor made the whole process social allowing one to deal with the pain by sharing it through laughter.

Reconciling different perspectives on grieving
People get really irrational when it comes to emotional pain.. My family basically split in 2 when my dad died and even though it's over 16 years ago, some still won't talk to each other. I guess for people like this, they project their pain out onto the world and try to keep their surroundings in place, so they don't have to deal with their internal emotional chaos - until they are ready to deal with it.. How does one reconcile it? As always, with communication, respect, listening (as in really listen). Talk to your aunt, explain to her how you felt, but hear her story too. She most likely just wants to be understood, she wants an outlet for her pain, give her a good one. And take your ego out of it - she's not lashing out at you - she's responding to your actions. Her anger does not reflect back on you as a person.

Warm and sunny, nice day.. Went out and had lunch with an American girl I've met. She thought I was taking her on a date hah.. Cultural differences are fun. And I'm slightly freaked out by how accurate the new Netflix feature is, where it guesses what you would rate a movie. My tastes are apparently very easy to extrapolate. Oh well, makes it very easy to pick out movies and shows.

My Rome: Total War 2 review
Yeah it's really wierd.. I think the campaign AI got pretty good in Shogun II compared the other titles, but I haven't played Rome enough to see if it's better. I do think the limitations on armies were meant for the AI (to prevent it from splitting armies up in to a gajillion small armies) and not the player and just covered up as a Legion mechanism. I like it though.. Same with the garrison units, which also works.. So I guess their AI all in all is just bad and they are trying to help it with limitations.

Maybe fake, but still funny - go to 00:20- What you did today
Ever noticed how people tend to get cold feet when their fantasies are about to meet reality? We don't want our bubbles bursting. If it's a girl, she's probably very comfortable keeping it online, because it gives her comfort and she feels validated - if you meet, you might not live up to her expectations or vice versa.. It would be risking too much. It's unfortunately very common and one of the biggest problems with online/virtual/sms flirting.- KaineParker's hopefully attractive women thread.

I'm just bummed out that I can't sttend the party next saturday - where all the freshmen come out and drink with the older students.. But luckily Copenhagen has just been flodded with over 2000 American exhange students as well, who are loving the fact that the drinking age here is 18, so they are out almost all nights of the week and they want to sample the local cuisine..- What you did today

Looked through what I had on Danish royalty and couldn't find an answer, but I can tell you they've been part of the Danish Royalties coat of arms since 1194. It's even on our money. Was never a monarchy and therefore no Coat of Arms.. Either under Norwegian or Danish control (or an independent republic like now). Or rather they have one similar to Norway - but I think it's the arms for the county of Iceland.. I'll shut up now..- What are you playing now?
Much easier to get lost in the Obsidian cookie cutter interiors than in the desert, atleast for me. They need better world builders, badly. Yeah, I would love for Bethesda to get Obz's writing talents and Obsidian to get Beth's world design talent and then Bio's engine stability (at least for me).. mmmmm
