^ yeah that was my idea .. I just didn't present it that well it seems.. but I was actually thinking less of a shooter and more of an adventure/rpg - the importance of getting a quiet start is feeling the difference, if you start out with a destroyed world you won't feel the emotional impact of it's destruction. Kinda like how you felt really lost in Homeworld, when you returned to a burning planet. And I would like an apacolypse game that has more focus on story than combat - but not ruling it out entirely. Stealth and savy should be the best option though.. since it would be more realistic for a normal guy to try and avoid any direct danger!

well it was implemented in your language - your culture and history to hate the French .. the best way to defeat an enemy is if you truely hate 'it' - and when some childrens rhimes and jokes (etc) are constructed to ridicule and create indifference about the French.. well then you have an entire system constructed to allowing your hatred/anamosity to flick on at the slightest effort..

Just saw Lucky Number Slevin.. really impressive! unfortunately it's not as original as I would've liked it to have been - but even if it borrows some of it's artistic elements - it's still a damn good film!

well we only "hate" them when there aren't any others around who are more strange than they are.. it's like family.. you'll hate your brother if you are alone with him in a room for more than a day as well.. ^_^ and Norway is like the little sister who everyone loves.. as long as she keeps quiet..

Denmark had Sweden as a Vassal state for many years as well .. We've been in an out of direct, or indirect, conflict from 1430 AD (as the Kalmar union began it's collaps) to around 1814 AD (when we were forced to give Norway to Sweden) .. so needles to say there's a still a glitter of anamosity between our nations.. it's been inbred much like between France and England.. pardon my french! --- I live in Copenhagen now .. so watch your mouth country-boy! ^_^

there's no conflict .. the goat is a symbol of Christmas (for the Swedes) and burning it would be serving both your needs.. taking a swing at teh holiday and tending to your pyromanic tendencies... it's a win/win!

how about a game that starts out like say .. The Longest Journey (the first one) - where you take care of your job, talk to your friends and generally do a bunch of normal stuff for about an hour an a half.. then the world "ends".. and you survive somehow - searching through the now destroyed city for other survivors or what-ever.. wait that actually sounds a bit like Half-Life .. only on the surface.. (and here I thought I was being original)

yes what is so bad about the dark side anyway .. Today many hold the belief of moral relativism - that states that a morality holds no absolute truth and is subjective based on the cultur, social position and historical background of the person in question (as well as his own idea of all said) - and while I too adhear to this form - It's not comparable with SW, sure you will see some of it shine through - as the story is again based on Earth's culture, social history and historical events. It's in a way GL's own moral relativism taken to the extreme - as all other factors are removed, but his imagination. and when this is the case it's moot to question it within itself, you can draw conclusions on our reality - but all that you will find by analysing morality insinde SW (and confining it to SW) is your own version of a constructed universe. Which doesn't say much about what you analyzed, just what you chose to see.. Now this is true because things can be absolute in fictional works - good is doing so and so ... an evil is doing the opposite.. and I believe this holds true for SW.. and of course there are shades of grey in our reality - but that's why we write these stories - so that we can have a look at ourselves through new eyes. (disclaimer: I know I wrote this as if it's an absolute thruth myself - but you can look at this as a piece of fiction as well - I create a personal universe and try to implement things from reality in it.. in order to explain said things without having to write: I think, I believe and it's my understanding that - etc. )

This thread tries to question morality in general (I feel) - but fails to do so as it's foundation is fictional universe in which things are supposed to be stereotypical.. Now you can question reality through fiction (as it will always be inspired by the real world), but not fiction through reality - because then you remove the very foundation of the fictional universe, it's own reality.

A Total War/Homeworld kinda game mixed with Civilization and Galactic Civilizations.. where you take a custom civilization and conquer your homeplanet - and then turn your attention to the stars - in RTS .. now that would be epic!

in retrospect it wasn't as creepy .. but when the first alarm went off I was literally biting my nails.. and the scenery really made the film what it was/is .. beautiful really - much like the in the games..

we have a really good Danish website called EDBpriser.. which compares the prices of almost every online (or at at least those with websites) stores in Denmark.. maybe I should consider ordering from an international store.. Danish prices can be up to 25% more expensive.. :crazy: but as I said I'll put it off until sometime next year - and then buy a high-end computer instead.. (if I'll survive not being able to play MTW2! )

I just saw Silent Hill ... now that.. is.. a scary movie! but I was totally absorbed in the story - I could never play any of the games (they were too creepy) and the film had the same horror-effect on me .. my concious mind was lying in a fetal position on the floor mumbling to itself "make it stop... make it stop" .. Best horror movie I've seen - or at least the only horror movie that actually made me feel afraid.. 8/10

Swedish behaviour is way beyond understanding.. but some new advancements in biogenetics could possibly allow us to unlock their unique genom.. and give us an interesting insight into the wicked and twisted mind (and composition) of the average Swede.. or so we hope .. for the sake of not only Scandinavia - but mankind!

hmm it seems I should wait and save some more money .. my current computer really stinks and I can barely run HL2 in 1024x768 - I was hoping to be able to buy a medium sized com (actually somewhat like your current build) - but that was unrealistic of me, as it would actually cost much more - as I would have to upgrade within the next year anyway.. but that means I won't be able to buy it until sometime next year..
