  1. Nobody says dates that verbosely.
  2. Every time that picture gets posted, I have to bring up the following up. YMD is superior above all else, and the American format is actually MD,Y a colloquial reformatting of YMD. Europe can stay losing, the rest of the enlightened world uses YMD.
  3. POE rippoff. To some degree we want more POE ripoff. The more crpg is there, the more of them will be good at some point. I don't really see things working like that. But I do appreciate that the genre has gotten a second life. With limited talent and capital I'd want just enough of a flow to satiate the scene, and not enough to diffuse it. I'm not saying we are there, but typically when a genre is at it's height is when it stops producing any good titles at all.
  4. The nostalgia of the duke is honestly enticing enough to think about getting an One S. More so than even it's hardware or game library. RDR with the Duke, now that is a fine evening.
  5. I always come back to this movie, only so many of it's scenes are online but I think is as good as any.
  6. The badge was always separate from the BIB thing. Obs gave us the Island, then the already raised funds went to a custom item. Not sure if you can still add the badge, but if it let's you then you can just ask Aarik D about adding the badge to your profile. I had to do that, because it didn't show up automatically for me.
  7. Maybe it's because I'm an informed consumer, but I just don't understand when people are drawn to the ultimate dregs of societies output. But... I like Fifa. That wasn't my point, it's buying into clearly anti-consumer products.

  9. Nice, probably the best channel to catch the beta updates. Great work there.
  10. Ya, I always thought it meant "classic" but the ol' grognards have since informed me it means "computer." But I agree about it's classic connotations. The original computer rpgs where translating what was being done in the pnp space. It's mostly the console rpgs that have evolved to a more action combat based systems, where computers where always good for data oriented interactions. Afterall that's why mouse and keyboards where primarily for, so the classical elements stuck around in the computer rpgs space.
  11. It's a hybrid TPS/FPS role based rpg. It will probably come out 2019Q4-2020Q2 Hints suggest we might get an updated cinematic trailer this E3. It won't be anything like any System Shock from what I can tell.
  12. ****ing hell. DLC largely exists because you need to make content freezes in order to establish the project's scope. A ton of potential content is devised during pre-planning, content that looks to be increasingly un-viable is cut as the project advances. Josh Recently had a great discussion about crunch and over-time and how you can actually loose productivity from Crunching. So to avoid those scenarios you need to establish a realistic scope of the project and design the project in a way where you can cut away content in order to salvage the major and most important parts of a project. Once the artists and designers are done with the main-game and the game is moving into it's final development and testing stages. They can then jump back into the production pipeline on either new content (so they aren't idle) or pickup where they left off on cut content (once again, to not be idle.) That content will never be ready for the final game, but it was selectively cut because it was some form of side-content. Obsidian also knew in advance that they we're making DLC for this game, so it's no surprise that they might over-plan side content, with the the anticipation that some of it would be cut and would be reworked into sizable meaty chunks of content that could come out later. At least this way whatever future content that they come out with, it's gone through a degree of work and refinement during the largest pre-planning stages. Just as all world builders should do, you design more than you write about. Let's not imply cutting content is a way to create "to be sold later DLC content." Let's not wax-concerns over some none-existent dubious nature of Obsidian's development.
  13. ... ...... ......... ............ ............... .................. ..................... ........................ ...........................really? I backed the game knowing they were going to have DLC. In fact... I explicitly backed the DLC. I've done so now twice.
  14. EDIT: Aslo this. Tbh though, I'm not sure what josh has in mind when citing non-traditional crpgs. Also which crowd is he chastising, because there are people of different tastes. I'd like to hear about the direction he hopes rpgs to be able to grow into.
