Beast of winter problem
hevymac replied to laivindur's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
So? Is this expected behaviour? Developers, where are you? I wasn't able to use your software through no fault of my own. Are you guys there? -

Is this really a question? Don't know how you managed to even get the DLC without updating the game. Exactly my point. -

Did you play the same game for 20 years? It's common for DLC to require/come with new game versions. "Usually the mod either comes with the update included or states that it requires it" Your sarcastic reply doesn't add anything constructive or address the question. I'm sorry that you're incapable of reading, but capable of sarcasm. Amazing you've been able to play such a text heavy game. -

I've never had this happen, in 20 years of pc gaming..... Usually the mod either comes with the update included or states that it requires it.. This time I could install the mod, which never said it needed the update. Is this expected behaviour? -

Female Voice Narration Missing
hevymac replied to Omeyga's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Solved the narrator issue! Just go into your PoE 2 folder Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\StreamingAssets\Audio\Windows\Voices\English(US) And then Move or delete the "narrator" folder! Solved! -

Female Voice Narration Missing
hevymac replied to Omeyga's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Since you're a tester, how many other times is the prose narrated to us? Is it just the beginning or does it creep up later. -
And it seems to me that the people are divided into groups who take it personally and those who don't. People who say "it" and people who say "she/her". People who like the idea that it's a woman's voice and, people who don't like getting their own thoughts narrated to them. Please understand that it's not a person but a narrator, and because someone doesn't like it most likely means that it's the voiceed in-game narrator that it's very out of place. Let's put aside, who, narrated it for now.

Disable narrator?
hevymac replied to Ciphys's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Descriptive text being narrated is not okay to me. I thought "Fully Voice acted" meant, the characters were voiced. Please give us an option to turn the 'my mum is reading to me' narration. -

Update #61: In-game Art
hevymac replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
I thought the same thing when I saw it for the first time. Something about the round rooms, diffuse lighting, underground feeling, sorta tiled floor and the anticipation of the big fight!- 204 replies

I too would love to see the addition of at least redbook quality files.... I have had so much frustration with lossy voices and music in games! I love music, and as such I have a decent stereo with a decent dac, etc. I have a passion for sound, and there *is* a difference. Some people are happy with, in terms of video, crappy quality 3000 to 5000kbps bluray rips. I am not. Watching Brave (for example) in it's near native, but still compressed, 25000 to 40000kbps is very satisfying. Just as hand made pasta tastes better (and has texture), but the average philistine would be dumbstruck if you asked them if there was a difference. The people who say, "snake oil" are the exact people who have not listened to music through a well thought out stereo system. So how can they tell me that "you can't tell the difference" if they, themselves have not sat down, as you would with good gourmet, and sampled it's bountiful fruit? I would pay extra to get high quality sound, I don't think I should have to, but if it's an inconvenience to the other developers, I would pay for it. Just my two cents.

This is my first post here, but I've been lurking around here for quite a while. I also would very much like, scaleable fonts, and or UI! My eyes aren't that bad but I sit sorta far away from my 27 inch 1080 screen.... About 4 to 5 feet away. Please keep up the great work and send a GANBARE!!!! From Japan, for the team please!
