  1. Permanent death is meaningless with reload. Early on people reload when things go wrong. Later on people cast Ressurect or pay whatever it costs at a temple if they don't feel like reloading. Plus there are bodybag items now so it won't be a lot of work picking up tons of stuff, maybe only distributing weight. When permanent death really matters, like when it's so high level that people that matter get Incinerated or chunked past -10 hp you'll almost certainly see people reloading. It's meaningless with reload.
  2. Good point.
  3. We need the option of disabling the KOTOR death rule. I think it's a fair tradeoff that would satisfy most people.
  4. 128MB Radeon 9.6k pro Be gentle, NWN2 T.T
  5. I think since you've commited to a gaming rig and busted your budget you might as well chip in that extra bit on a decent/medium end sound card. It doesn't need to be top end, but at least your spanking new speaker system won't be performing below its full potential.
  6. An Incinerate is fine too. An Incinerate is fine too. An Incinerate is fine too. An Incinerate is fine too. An Incinerate is fine too.

  8. What, did the cosplay dudes get flowers when they won?
  9. I remember Grim Fandango, which is hardly ancient had a similar issue in the forklift/elevator puzzle. Why would devs programme timing such that it depends on the computer's speed?
  10. I think the publishers are more concerned about making sure the product can be run by as many people as possible. Hence they'd rather go CDs than straight DVDs which may only be supported by a % of the target market. I hope they compromise and make a mix of both though. It'd be interesting to see recent marketing data to see what % of purchases are DVD when consumers have a choice, adjusting for availability etc.
  11. Lol, no.
  12. I hope Atari will release NWN2 in a DVD version in addition to a CD one.
  13. I bet Magical Volo was waiting for a toolset that was powerful enough to express his awesomeness. And Warlocks.
  14. Damn those propaganda Canadians!
  15. BBC article Best thing out of this is that at least some kids are learning the basics of supply & demand and how the free market works. Is this evidence that people naturally tend towards capitalism over socialism?
  16. I'd keep feral halflings on chains for picking locks and detecting traps. Maybe I'd release it them to track/hunt down prey.
  17. Nope, no PnP experience. MTG on the other hand...
  18. Thanks for the interview guys (nwn2news & JE).
  19. The way I see it DD looks indie to me. Maybe it's the song and dance (ie fancy production) producers provide give the impression that something less than that isn't mainstream. The problems that I personally have with DD is the impression of indie (low budget?) games, distribution (not everyone's going to be able to download it, or people want paper manuals or whatever) and piracy. Is it easier to pirate DD games? The main lure for me is that developers have more freedom on kind of games that they make because they don't need to justify it to producers.
  20. Admit it, you just want to light cigarettes with a lightsaber.
  21. Ronaldinho didn't do much. But he doesn't need to I guess. He made a few sweet passes and wasted a bunch of free kicks.
  22. Eto saw a lot of action on the left side. The thing that caught my eye was how superb Eto and Giuly's ball control is. They brought down high lofted passes on the touchline with amazing grace, light as a feather and stoped it dead at their feet.
  23. Thanks, but I should have made it a poll to force dudes like you not to sit on the fence. Mods? Feel free to ask for more info on the zombie horse dude if you need it before you vote.
