  1. But this has specifically to do with the games, killing and incarcerating dissidents hasn't
  2. The Olympics supposedly has an image to worry about, I hope people will remember this when Canada applies for another event.
  3. Yes, but it's still just point and click, interspace with abilities. That's what a shooter does, what's the point of an RTS with no 'big picture' facets ?
  4. I'd imagine it's about as unpleasant as anything gets, but not for very long though.
  5. You a ****ing expert on that or what? technically you drown in your own blood, but you aren't awake for all of it as you lose the oxygen supply to your brain fairly quickly.
  6. DOW2. Can't seem to get past the tutorials. I've tried both available campaigns but handing you control of 3 'hero' units and letting you loose on various scripted events, that's really not the strengths of an RTS. Does it get any better ?, do you get resource management, the ability to build units and bases etc. or is it just more of the same. 'Drop' into some map with a random size and composition of forces and earn resources after the fact... They did that in the last game, it sucked.

There is something to be said for the simple low tech solution we have been using these last thousand years or so. Easier on the eyes than the best flat screens out there, resolution only limited by your eyes, no AC adaptors required. portable... up to a point, but you can only read one at a time anyway. No, I think in these tablety thingies are mostly for people with the attention span of a 12 year old, they like to pretend that they read, but also can't do it without checking facebook, home banking, whatnot, every 10 minutes.
  8. -Huh, what's with the burying alive. You would think there would be some kind of heath and safety code requiring an injection. Also, yes, why didn't they try and place these animals. It's not much different than getting a puppy at Christmas and then putting it down when the cuteness factor wears off. *wags finger*
  9. What were the other things? Even this sounds like a pretty extreme scenario. I mean, I certainly have to recharge my battery after every few hours of gaming, and I don't think I've been in a place that has electricity but no option for accessing the internet in, well, this millennium. Not that I have a laptop that comes even close to DA2s minspec. Congratulations to you for having one, though. I went to such a place with my family last year. I don't currently have a fancy mobile I can use as a modem, and 3/4 G coverage is still pretty lousy out in the sticks. I want to be able to use my games and programs with absolutely no hassle from the DRM. I consider phoning home once a week a hassle, and I'm gonna pass as a result.
  10. Also, I wouldn't be able to install DA2 on my laptop and take it somewheres without internet. These things all count against getting the game, it's just too much of a hassle.
  11. It's the login thing that's the problem, not the concurrent installs. I'd like to be able to play DA2 in three years, who the hell even knows if there is going to be a Bioware in three years.
  12. So you say, but what happens when all the games you have are online DRM and you lose internet connectivity, it's happened twice in the last two months on my shared conn.
  13. I might have gotten it for laughs, not anymore. I got Arkam Asylum which is online DRM, but it was only 4,99 so I don't feel cheated. That's about what I'd pay for a continuous online check DRM game.
  14. nevermind, gotta learn to read.
  15. Maybe RPGs have a larger PC following. I don't understand why there is 'no way' to include digital sales. Surely they pay taxes as well at STEAM, they must have records of every sale, are they keeping those a secret ?
  16. @ red I would much have preferred a 'serious' lean to the film, I mean what a phenomenal lineup, and then to waste them doing slapstick. I never really bought Malkovich the comedian anyway, although he's done a few lately.
  17. PC sales are like 10%, rule of thumb, and it's killing the quality of PC releases.
  18. Who would buy a particular console because of the titles exclusive to it ; most everyone. Who would buy a particular console for access to a DLC ; no one. See, this is what I don't understand about all of this.
  19. I think I spent around that in a year. Some of them I only got 5 minutes out of, like Arkham Asylum.
  20. guess what, wrong thread.
  21. The 'player' at the end is using a controller, don't bring a controller to a gunfight, bring a mouse.
  22. If the veritable forest of bigotry and bats**t insanity that is the comments thread is anything to go by, clearly the problem here is the Gay Liberal Black Mexican Government of California. This could wind up being Chernobyl for any teacher within a mile radius, whether they knew about it or not. The mob must be fed a sacrifice.
  23. It's like one of those really awkward and mood breaking product placement scenes, except no one is getting paid, they are just soiling both franchises.
  24. Puke receptacle ?
