I too am getting the urge to restart because I don't like my build. This time I'm going with Hacking (5) and inventory upgrade (3) No energy upgrade above 2. That should make me a lot of money, and the capacity to pick up and carry lots of extra ammo. I'll factor in the jumping and strength augs when I get to Shanghai. I don't see the point of typhoon except against mechs and turrets since it requires energy you aren't likely to be able to use it when you need it the most. This could be said for most activated augs though. Better to max one out and leave it at that than to get them all.

What bonus stuff ?

A kill nets you 10xp. A non lethal takedown 20. It doesn't matter though, you make loads more than that just hacking, or completing minor stuff.

I never actually killed anyone with a takedown, didn't see the point. Maybe it's just that don't have much energy, but I run out constantly. If you say it takes one pip I'll take your word for it. It's still a bad mechanic though. When I get my energy bar maxed out, it will just be annoyingly easy rather than anoyingly hard.

Cons : lack of a proper mele system. You have to expend energy bars for a 'win button' animation. This means you often have to kill people even if you are trying for a non lethal approach. It's very unsatisfying to sneak up on someone and then have a red flashing error message. Apparently you can't lift your arms without expending two points of energy. It looks dated. Not terrible or anything, just slighly below par for comperable games. The architechture looks great, the actors, not so much. Pros: Everything else. It's very a la DX1.

Weapon pack DLCs do make you feel cheated almost automatically. It can't help but have taken less than a few percent of the time and resources of other DLCs. This is the kinda thing you expect from weekend modders, not real game developers. Stick new weapons in existing DLCs
