So, Is this game delayed or not?
Hopefully it's delayed while they iron out bugs.

How does Mass Effect's securom work?
Yeah, I've been avoiding buying it because of it's ****ty DRM as well. Mirror's Edge was pretty bad like that. Don't want to go through that again.

A fun little game to play!
Here are the odds line: Krezack 10:1, Pop 4:1, Deadly Nightshade 30:1, taks 10000:1, Walsingham 200:1, Kaftan 15:1, Guard Dog 10000:1, Laozi 80:1 Krookie 75:1, Rostere 100:1, Monte Carlo 90:1, Not an alt just a fool 2:1 I'm far more inclined to believe it's the alt of one of you crazy libertarians, since he's clearly designed to rally the people against communism and such by virtue of the stupidity of his arguments in defence of it.

Americans set to get standardised/universal healthcare
No, it's an element of socialism. And communism. And democratic socialism. And Social democracy. None of which are the same thing. 'Might'? America is the only Western country without it. There are plenty of examples around the world of universal healthcare working in an exemplary manner, and there has been for decades - it's certainly not new. I don't know about you, but I generally find people don't loathe each other at all. Heck, the fact that voters in democracies voted for such systems in so many different countries across the globe says kind of the opposite. Bad life experiences on your part?

The girl that never ages.
Nice. You have used fairly arbitrary proportions in your "reproductive chance", and you are assuming that there are inheritable traits nowadays that both impede and encourage reproduction in human beings. You are also assuming that an A parent will have an A child and so on. It's cool to simplify things for the sake of an explanation, but when you're trying to make theoretical predictions, it just doesn't cut it. Not saying that your conclusion is wrong per se, just that the premises are wrong as they intend to represent mankind at present. Care to try again? Actually that sounds like a fairly feeble attempt to reject his working. For instance: You honestly find that assumption difficult to understand?

Americans set to get standardised/universal healthcare
What are you talking about? Doctors are one of the most, if not the most, highly paid professions in Australia (I think only optometry and dentistry are higher paid) - especially private ones (which is another point - what makes you think public healthcare precludes private healthcare competing with it?). I was almost certain high pay for doctors that was a universal thing around the developed world. Oh, I forgot actuarials. I think they get paid more. Fact of the matter is, quality of care isn't reduced in the other Western countries with universal healthcare (pick one - America is the only one without it). Hey, doesn't Cuba have healthcare quality equal to America or something?

Huge Confederate Flag to Fly Over Tampa
Never going to happen? a) NATO b) EU's mutual defence pact with itself c) a small EU army already exists.

Americans set to get standardised/universal healthcare
I hope you learnt about just the term from these forums, and gained your instruction on how to use it elsewhere.

Huge Confederate Flag to Fly Over Tampa
Somehow I'm not able to comment on this (or even concur with an American commenting on it) without making taks' 'patriotic' blood boil like a Chinese nationalist eavesdropping on a conversation about the deplorable nature of the Tainanmen Square Massacre.

Borderlands
Anyway, reading over this game, looks interesting. I'll give it a go.

Borderlands
Because it looks like piss, and its such a cheapshot to pull graphicswise. Either you go full cartoony like TF2 or even toon/cellshading, or you keep it regular. You dont take a regular game and slap on some cheap outlines because someone in the design meeting is a complete loon. I like it, and so do quite a lot of others. Looks like your gut is wrong.

Huge Confederate Flag to Fly Over Tampa
You sound drunk.

Huge Confederate Flag to Fly Over Tampa
It's not that far from it in some parts of the south... Oh, I'm well aware. Disturbing.

Americans set to get standardised/universal healthcare
Wow. Reading American reactions to universal healthcare is truly bizarre at times. Alien almost.

Huge Confederate Flag to Fly Over Tampa
Guard Dog, you're right, it seems a bit silly. Let the buggers fly it though, I guess. It's not exactly the Nazi Swastika.

SDTV?
Just buy a computer.

Obsidian, switch engines!
Actually, plenty of other publishers are too, e.g. EA. DirectX is a standard? No. Standards are open and free. E.g. HTML. But yeah, you're right, DirectX is certainly popular on Mac, Linux, PS3.

FO:NV
What? No. Remove mob-kill EXP and you shut down grinding. Exploring is about finding new places, not new mobs to kill (and benefit from the XP that nets you). You still get loot, too. It's been explained before. Combat XP punishes players that do not wish to play combat-focused characters, in a genre that does not necessarily revolve around combat. It's unfair to non-grinders. edit: posted before reading Spider's post. He beat me to the punch. I can't stress enough how strongly I agree with this post. I really wish Obsidian would consider it but I don't think they give a damn considering how they've made XP work in Alpha Protocol.

Can you smoke weed in this game?
I'm surprised there's no weed in this game. Well, that's one customer they've lost.

Any word on how we'll maintain stealth?
I would also like to know this. (& i hope tranqing people has a cool animation) Was that a mgs reference? (sorry, running on no sleep) good god get deus ex and get some proper gaming under your belt thanks, but no thanks.. just like an RPG, i chose my own path.. why judge? I can't believe you've never played Deus Ex and never plan to. Edit: In response to your post directly above this one - no one cares about your 'past'. We're just telling you that you're missing out on one of the best RPGs around and that you'd enjoy it immensely. If somebody did that to me I'd thank them!

There is no free speech in Finland
By itself, that means very little. Just that people won't always follow the most charismatic leader, but that's hardly news. Except it's the norm here and I find little evidence to suggest it's all that different anywhere else (save the more undeveloped authoritarian states like Russia). You are not big on individual freedoms and tolerance, are you? I'm extremely big on freedoms and tolerance when they make sense and are worth it (e.g. free speech, secular society, sexual liberty, freedom of expression, drug decriminalisation/legalisation, etc). You, however, seem quite big on issues being black and white. "Oh, he supports compulsory voting, that must mean he wants to remove all freedoms". Way to go numbers. I'd prefer to keep my democracy as intact and efficient as possible than give people the right not to cop a $30 fine for not voting every 3 or 4 years. Invalid or defaced votes are not illegal so protesting is still perfectly possible if one is convinced it accomplishes something (about 5% of voters per election). But hey, continue on about how that's 'coercion' from the 'state' which will inevitably lead to totalitarianism or some rot like that. Australia's been doing fine on it for almost a century now, though. I imagine that, in your eyes, I am also a horrendous authoritarian socialist for supporting gun control or income tax.

There is no free speech in Finland
Agreed. I can't help but wonder, though: is that a sad fact of life or merely a consequence of thought railroading and opinion manipulation? Stuff like censorship is actually conducive to widespread stupidification. It is through analysis that truth is uncovered. I think it comes down to most people not caring and/or blindly following someone more charismatic with whatever agenda, because it is easier. I think that's entirely cultural, if it's true at all. Charismatic isn't a word I'd use to describe Howard, Keating, Rudd, or Hawke, for example. In fact Rudd is probably one of the most boring and nerdy leaders Australia's had, and he also has the highest consistent approval rating of them all at about 65% favourable. I also think it's presumptive of you to assume that you are one of a privileged few who votes on issues rather than personality - I think you'll find in you're not so special. The don't vote? I am forever thankful for compulsory voting here.
-
The girl that never ages.
Yep, it generally is. It's more of an illusion that society doesn't appreciate intelligence. And then there's always the stereotypical nerd who moans about how girls don't appreciate intelligence because he can't get any action. His logic is rather suspect there.

Some governments might. Most wouldn't. But then, that was hyperbole wasn't it? - There is no free speech in Finland
