  2. I just finally found out from one of my inside sources at Sega why AP is delayed for 7 months. It's a good reason, too: I'm glad they're doing it. You see, when Sega did some QA playtesting recently using normal gamers under NDA, they discovered an alarming fact: the game had a distinct lack of crates. So much so that some gamers were playing through the entire game without ever once having met a crate! The gamers were so disturbed by this that some became depressed for a week after playing. Furthermore, those crates they did meet were usually stereotyped as villains or dim-witted thugs. Clearly, Sega were affronted by this situation, and rightly so, so they deemed to rectify it. So here's to a 2010 release of AP full of crates with complex, deep personae.

Boring pilot episode. It had none of the adventure, excitement, or passion that made SG1 so charming. I also disagree with whichever shallow person above was claiming SG1's special effects were lame, not only because I don't think special effects are what make a show worth watching, but because SG1 did just fine in that department. Also, did anyone else notice in the opening credits, Richard Dean Anderson was a guest star, but Amanda Taping and Michael Shanks were credited as permanent actors?

Looking at the poster, there's actually less girls than guys. I'm pretty sure that's exactly what I said.

The actors look fugly from a promo poster, and there's like 2 guys for every girl, but I'll watch it.

Maybe it was the fact that I was forced to watch it on the bus in transit to a school excursion that made it so awful. And it yes, it was about cannibal hicks mutated by incest.

    WORST. MOVIE. EVER.
  13. Looks like Hershey, Mars, and Nestle were involved in a slave labour scandal a few years back. Not sure what the status of that is now. Would be nice to know if anybody can dig it up.

Child abuse is child abuse. Changing the age of consent won't change that. If the victim doesn't give consent, or was coerced, that's extremely illegal under the law, regardless of the age. ... am thinking that you is misreading or missing point. "age of consent". consent cannot be given by persons younger than age of consent. if you have sex with somebody who did not give consent... HA! Good Fun! You missed the point actually Grom - Wals was talking about (in response to me bringing it up) variations in the age of consent across different countries and what he thought was proper, not what the legal definition of consent in America is. I'm fully aware that a 13 year old cannot legally give consent in America.

Hey the government says so, who are we to question it right? You can question the government, and seek to change the Law, but until the Law is changed then you must obey the Law or face the consequences of breaking the Law. I'll chance it thanks. *smokes a joint*

Because nobody disagrees with the rape charge and the topic is boring when everybody agrees.

For the record, I absolutely do not think that Polanski should be a free man and not have to pay for his crime. Based on the way he's talking, I get the feeling my numerical friend is in the same boat. Agreed.

In vast swathes of the world the age of consent is 13 or 14. That signifies to me cultural difference which a lot of Americans (where it is 18 or 19) refuse to accept.

  22. The specs aren't hard-coded limitations by the developers. If your computer can run it, it can run it. Nobody will stop you. They are just recommended minimum requirements, usually to prevent lots of graphics lag. If what you say is true I have assassin's creed and my CPU doesn't meet the minimum specs and when I click the game, instead of the game starting, why does the Detect Tool start up and tell me that my CPU is not good enough to play assassin's creed? Because the people who coded the game are ****. Go to the Assassin's Creed folder and run 'AssassinsCreed_Game.exe'. If that fails, run 'AssassinsCreed_DX9.exe' and if that fails the DX10. If none of that works, get a refund.
  23. The specs aren't hard-coded limitations by the developers. If your computer can run it, it can run it. Nobody will stop you. They are just recommended minimum requirements, usually to prevent lots of graphics lag. Some games require new fangled features such as hardware texture and lightning. If your card doesn't have that, you may simply be unable to play the game at all. Any of the nVidia 9000 series above 9400 (i.e. 9600 and higher). I have a 9400 M which is slightly worse than the normal 9400. It runs Assassin's Creed fine on average graphics settings. I recommend getting a 9600 or higher because it's a different, better type of card to the 900 to 9400 range.
