  1. Ideologically speaking, Ralph Nader would probably take Hawai'i, actually.
  2. Yeah, you should definitely blame Valve for that. After all, with games from any other company, patches would be near-instantaneous on dial-up.
  3. If it has online authorisation like that SecuROM bull**** I'm not buying it unless it comes out on Steam (AND the Steam version removes the third-party DRM).
  4. Then how did I die? There's no falling damage is there? I did fall on a camera I ripped off the wall and threw in the portal tunnel first. Maybe hitting that killed me?
  5. - The following is a list of Source games which can be safely assumed to be ported to Mac: Portal 1 Portal 2 Left 4 Dead 1 Left 4 Dead 2 Half-Life 1 Half-Life 2 HL2: Episode 1 HL2: Episode 2 HL2: Episode 3/Half-Life 3 Team Fortress 2 Counter-Strike - The following is an incomplete list of high-quality indie games currently on Steam which have Mac versions: Torchlight Braid Plants vs Zombies World of Goo Aquaria Osmos Machinarium Darwinia Multiwinia Defcon Uplink Gish Depths of Peril - Some mainstream games currently on Steam which have Mac versions Dragon Age: Origins Bioshock Tombraider: Anniversary Civ 4 Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast Jedi Academy Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones Freedom Force Commandos 2 And of course, all the Blizzard games run on Mac, but it'll be a cold day in hell before Blizzard puts their games on Steam. Still, the point being that Blizzard + Valve/Steam on Mac is a potent force.
  6. I was just playing Portal again and in the starting level when you get the Portal gun I decided to make a portal on the ground next to the portal on the wall and jump through it. Normally when I do this, I get flung about in a portal loop a few times and then hit the edge of a portal and don't fall in. This time, that didn't happen. This time I warped through it about 10 times and then died. LOL!
  7. You have never drank enough. n00b. Or perhaps I drank so much I couldn't remember?
  8. Two points of interest) a) It is due out THIS YEAR 2) It takes place in (some) natural environments
  9. I dunno, EA uses Cider, and I'm somewhat... sceptical of it. Of course, neither does there exist a Mac with a decent graphics card, never mind at a sane price. The reason I went with Apple+consoles, shrug. I hope things change. The Radeon 4000 line and the Geforce 9000 line are decent cards. Not the best, but they're certainly decent enough to play almost every game out there today (except Crysis).
  10. I never dance.
  11. I'm so happy I could dance.
  12. Lots of games (especially the vast majority of indie games) already have Mac ports. But anyway, Valve is pretty good at getting publisher cooperation, especially if the main reason for not developing on Mac (harder to publish for and reach fan base) is removed.
  13. Between Valve, Blizzard and EA, gaming on Macs makes a lot more sense now. And with that comes gaming in OpenGL. And with that comes gaming on Linux! Wooo! DIE DIE DIE DIRECTX.
  14. I live on 5-10. If 50 is ****ty you're living with way too much digital content. Why? The computer is superior to the TV for movies and shows. Digital downloads are superior to shop-bought games as long as you have a sensible backup system (and even then, the cloud makes that near irrelevant). The only thing that is worth buying physically these days is music CDs so you can rip them to lossless FLAC. Did I mention I live with 2 other uni students? Oh god. Oh, and just to brag, my current connection is 120gb at 20 mbps for $50 a month. :D
  15. It does not, however, prove a conspiracy on behalf of weapon manufacturers to induce or prolong the war on terror in the first place.
  16. Screw that. http://www.manabar.com.au/ And yes, it IS run by Yahtzee.
  17. Well, its not impossible that we may be shooting at each other again at some point but I'd say it is very very very very very very unlikely. It is, however, very much within the realm of possibility that the US might break into two or three pieces in the next 50-100 years. It is already being discussed in Texas and Oklahoma, and many people there and elsewhere are VERY alarmed at the way the federal goverment is seizing more and more power and usurping powers Contitutionally delegated to the States with no consequence. I really doubt it will happen but it is a distinct possibility. lol, you're such a dramatic alarmist.
  18. Sif do that Gorth. Sif.
  19. What are you up to guys? Sorry, I've been so busy lately with work, study, and emergency services training. And beer. So if you went ahead that's totally cool.
  20. Steam: euclideanalgorithm
  21. No, Blizzard is not. You are.
  22. Teams Obsidian has: Team 1: Alpha Protocol Team 2: New Vegas Team 3: Wheel of Time I strongly suspect they have a fourth team. Anyway now that AP is finished, what will Team 1 be working on? Likely they'll spread Team 1 over their other games currently in production until their newest game (whatever it is) leaves the drawing board.
  23. Better yet, add a Steam username field. It would actually be useful, unlike the other junk suggested in this thread (and the Xbox tag thing itself)
