  1. Because that was an inside job. You don't even need drones to do a bad thing just a car full of propane tanks and fertilizer, send a few out to key locations and massive terror strike. You don't even need a fertilizer, some radical Islam moron killed two people and injured many more (paralyzed) -including kids- when he steered his SUV into a group of people in a city not far from where I live. Had he not been stopped immediately one can only guess how many more he would have killed since his car only suffered minor damage from hitting those people. With a car you can run over a hundred persons in a crowded city in a matter of minutes before the police can even react.
  2. Not surprising with that cast, and the film record of the director is less than impressive.
  3. Just watched Elysium again, which is an awesome film if it weren't for the god awful stupid ending. Love Jodie Foster in it, and the tech in the movie is sweet, especially those exoskeletons. Remembers me why I lift weights, making myself a poor mans exoskeleton. Oh and I've fallen in love with Jodie Fosters voice, I wish she would voice act for games.
  4. Doing 80kg goblet squats. What, 80kgs? Squats? You should be doing 150 you wuss! Yeah, goblet squats are awesome, the 80kg dumbbell is 30cm away from my chest so it requires hell of a lot core strength to keep the body from bending like a young twig. With normal squats you can move much more weight but its almost perfectly centered above your spine.- My abs feel like they're exploding. Awesome alternative to regular squats and assist exercise for deadlifts. Goblet squat:
  5. I only tip my favorite hairdresser, about 1/3 of what I pay for the cut itself. But shes kinda cute, that might have something to do with it.
  6. I can have conversations with police officers without commuting a crime and getting arrested. You know, like, when they're off duty?
  7. I can because she looks nothing like wonder woman.
  8. Yeah, no need for that, judging by that guys intellect its safe to assume that he will smite himself in the near future.
  9. Years of lifting have made me rather big too (186cm 102kg), but that does not automatically mean stiff. Out of curiosity I tried a couple of Yoga exercises and found out that I'm flexible enough to do almost all of them but the most exotic ones. Makes sense, most lifts require a lot of flexibility since their range of motion is very big. Yoga does have its place, though I'm a die hard advocate of good old iron pumping, especially the 4 power lifts to strengthen the entire body. Overhead press, deadlift, squat and bench press. There are no other methods that strengthen your body as much as doing those basic lifts with heavy weights. The problem with yoga is its limited to your own body weight, eventually you reach a level you can handle up to 2-2.5 times your own body weight in several exercises. Especially the the king of exercises, the deadlift. The majority of untrained people can deadlift their own weight right from the start, the pros can do 3 times their own weight.
  10. My opinion about cross trainers is, they're very effective in burning fat and building endurance, even better than bikes, but if you think you're building any kind of muscle mass or strength you'll be disappointed. A good exercise program consist of cardio and strength training, doing both will assist each other, and especially your spinal problem screams for exercises to strengthen your back (consult your doc though). Even things like slipping discs can be corrected with muscles - I know power lifters who have slipping discs yet they live a good life and lift several hundred kilos of weights while many normal people with slipping discs live in a world of pain. If your abdominal, back and butt muscles are strong they support your back and minimize or even completely compensate many kinds of spinal defects.
  11. Why a cross trainer, we live in a beautiful country, get a bicycle. That would also surely increase your motivation tenfold. Heck, if I can boast about something its my self discipline in sports and even I find a cross trainer and stationary bikes horrifying. (So horrifying that it makes them interesting in their own way) The only way I'd ever use a stationary bike again is if I was stationed in a submarine or the ISS.
  12. Some speeding idiot crashed into my mothers car totally wrecking it. That guy is so lucky because my mother only suffers minor scratches, if she suffered any life threatening injuries I'd beat that guy to death.
  13. The ''Cro-Magnon'' was not responsible for the demise of the Neanderthal.
  14. 3 sets of 8 reps 170kg / 375lbs deadlifts. I feel properly trashed now. And now some bent over rows and relaxed bicep curl drop sets as finisher. And later some night sky photography before bed time. Life is good.
  15. Get a shotgun. If you cant convince armed nightly visitors to leave with nice words a shot in the floor with a 12 gauge will make them think twice. Have you a rough estimation how long it takes the Police to get to your house in case of an emergency?
  16. Still experimenting with ISO settings, 4200 seems to be the sweet spot when using dark frame noise reduction.
  17. Tried my first couple of night shots with my new lens, despite having a really bright moon on the horizon the results are good for a start. Things should get much better once the moon is gone. I still have to learn a lot about post processing though.
  18. Went mountain climbing and camping. It was very hot, had to drink more than 5L of water during the ascend and my sleep in the tent was limited to ~5x 30 minutes because of the painfully bumpy ground that wrecked my back and hips. Me with all the gear I'm carrying (Approx 20kg / 1/5th body weight) when I go mountain climbing/camping. Thats a good cardio workout!
