One of the few threads that were worth visiting.

Do these ''hippies'' have kids? I hope they don't because the ever growing population size is part of the reason stuff like that happens. Feeding lots of people is never pretty.

I agree. I like the instrumentals of Agalloch until they start snorting and grunting like drunk hobos. Fortunately they have a few good instrumentals only tracks.

Had a nice day at the shooting range, shot some really accurate groups and it was just plain fun. Then later had an interesting chat with my shooting buddies, smoked a good Italian cigar and drank cool quality beer. Thats what I used, yes.

That sucks. I guess it would take me at least 6 months to regrow that nail. Today I had to push heavy stuff, two palettes each weighing 950kg, the weight of a compact car - 25 meters uphill. It felt like a million kilograms and I nearly fainted when I was finished with the second. That was hard on my quads, holy crap, felt like I was suddenly thrown into a strongmen contest. .

Currently deciding if I should pull off the the nail of my big toe on my left food. After mountain climbing with new and sadly suboptimal shoes the flesh under the toenail of my left foots big toe turned black from banging against the shoe during the descent. Now the nail is loose and probably a goner, I could pull it off my toe but I'm too much of a wuss for that. This sucks.

Oh and I made some lightning pics on a completely exposed hill top when suddenly the thunderstorm changed direction right towards me. I grabbed my camera and ran, ran like a goat on fire!

I'm in hell. The heat is annoying as F and I have to draw goddamn CAD sketches for stupid people because they're too mentally challenged to read and understand the simplest instructions. This wouldn't be so sad if didn't happen all the freaking time. The people I have to work with, both customers and suppliers, are single digit IQ individuals, I'd have better luck trying to communicate with rabid antbears. I don't know how they can stay in business like that, I was as incompetent and dumb as a loaf of bread I'd go out of business in a matter of weeks or worse, get sued back into the stone age. If there was a virus killing off 90% of the population in an instant I would not object, no sir, not today.

Personally I did have no problem whatsoever hooking up with Anna, even if she wasn't completely right in her head.
-
Yeah maybe they should have hired Bioware writers to make the Anna love story better. *cackles* I agree, Anna going from ''I hate you'' to I ''Love you'' was WTF-quick, but truth be told I've met far crazier people in real life. - And lets be honest, living & surviving in a world like metro would drive anyone on the brink of insanity, a proper love story would have actually made less sense in such a horrible environment. Thats not an excuse for bad writing though, but considering this the whole Anna arc is not that bad.

Why didn't you finish last light redux? I loved the living hell out of that game, especially the level design was really really good. There were a few bad things of course, but all things considered it was at least as enjoyable as 2033.
-
No, the base where they build the train / tank, I cannot remember if it was in 2033 or in 2034 last light though, I always mix them up. There is also the funny conversation between an officer and an engineer about burning rats, the engineer said he cannot burn the prisoners because they're not as evil as the Nazis and the officer then tells him he meant it literally, burning rats, not those people.

My play style in games reflects my personality very well and I need that to feel connected to the world, I always play a loner flying under the radar not caring about people and all their petty homemade drama unless intervention means profit - or if it directly concerns him. My character feels no responsibility for the well being of other people. Except something atrocious is happening right now that could easily prevented with direct intervention, thats when my protagonist breaks character every now and then. That means in Metro Nazis, Red Army etc. can slaughter / imprison / torture each other to death I could not care less, neither does looting filters and ammo from civilians bother me nor am I feeling responsible for killing thugs in the tunnels to make the area safer for travelers. Though rape and civilians getting beaten to death right in front of my eyes, I cannot simply sneak past and pretend I don't care, thats one of the few moments people get shanked. I tried to play other personalities but didn't enjoy that at all, role playing myself in games feels best.

I'm a sucker for stealth in games, my favorite games of all the time - with a huge margin- are Thief - The Dark Project and Thief - The Metal Age so the ghosting no kills approach will always be my favorite one. I detest going rambo in games that allow stealth, especially when role playing the protagonist because the stealthy approach is the one I'd choose in real life too.
-
Its pretty hard to stealth through crowded areas (Red army base for example), and with the very high difficulty settings I won't even have enough resources to go on regular killing sprees. Lets see how it will turn out.
-
Starting Metro Redux again, on hardest difficulties possible. I'm planning on going hardcore-stealth, as few kills as possible *, mutants and humans. (I'll kill the rapists and safe the woman though)

Yeah, I too have troubles sleeping in this heat and it makes daily weight lifting pretty hard. The last three weeks temperatures were around 33 Celsius, with some days being even hotter with 37-38 Celsius with high humidity and zero wind. And the weather forecast just said there is another even hotter heat wave inbound, there seems to be no end to this hot weather, not even a single day. I've never experienced such a long and potent heat wave. I'M the last person to b!tch about weather extremes but now I really wouldn't mind a couple of cool rainy days.

Light pollution from a major city, sadly.

Today I visited a private shooting range, took my scoped 22 precision rifle with me. It was very hot outside at the 50 meter range -I swear- the temperatures reached 40 /100F Celsius with very high humidity. I was shooting from prone from the bipod with no rear support and tested new ammo. I had to quit after about 40 minutes, I felt dizzy and got a headache, my shirt was so wet it looked like I fell in a swimming pool and the sweat was constantly running into my eyes irritating them. If I haven't had my baseball cap holding off some sweat I would have drowned on the spot. Despite the suboptimal conditions it was still a successful trip, I found new cheap ammo showing promise. (middle target) The other brands weren't as consistent. (The shots are high because the scope is sighted in to compensate the drop out to 100, I didn't adjust the scope for 50 because I was only testing ammo) And yes, I drew the target myself. Now I can vaguely imagine what the snipers in 'Nam went through, of course without being in a life or death situations and without all the horrifying jungle animals.
