The portrait is missing the extreme lights and darks. Its what gives it is glossy glow. Since you can provide your own portrait, it's not big of a deal. For me, the leveling forest background doesn't fit PoE art style. Its too cartoony and looks like a fairytale. Also, I don't like the patterns they use on the sidebar when opening dialog. The cross patterns are simple looking and boring to look at. I hope that gets replaced with a more elegant look. P. S that anon portrait looks nice. A good example of using lights and darks. -
What have you (Obsidian) done with the assetbundles?

That's odd. my Pillar of Eternity steam folder is 3.3GB. It doesn't seem to match sensuki's 1.9GB. -
When I first played BG2 (my first IE games), It kicked the crap out of me. Took me two days to get out of the first dungeon area. I then found out about "shadow keeper", I modified the stats, give my party cool items, and played the game. I enjoyed it a lot. Plus using the shadow keeper didn't ruin my experience in the game because enemies are tough.

You can now build a city! I really like their kickstarter is because (now only is the product awesome) but they give you a lot of game tiles last KS. Those stretch goals are amazing.

The problem seem widespread. I seen more reputable uses old screens. Good thing obsidian stick large version number in beta. someone posted a "new" video recently but the version is still listed.

I find leveling in bg1 very boring. It was slow and spells weren't cool until you reach level 3 wizard or something. Bg2 was amazing in terms of progression. Perfect balance. Throne of baal ruined it. Great story but levels are out of control. I call it the Blizzard Entertainment effect. Both in WoW and D3, the scale is so different from vanilla. going from 60 to 61, the stats are nearly double from previous levels. It made previous progress worthless. -
I don't understand why recent articles uses ancient screenshot. Don't they even play the game or do they just pretend to?

Those banners are too distracting. It gotten worse for me. Also I meant to say it a few days ago but I hope Obsidian manage to add a small window/bar when chanting. That way you can see what level chant the character is on. -

Interesting that you bought this up. I always wonder about that, even I speak only english. But yeah, I total agree and I think there should be a option where names are just names, don't translate them. Skills and spells too. Also tooltip can give you the description if you don't understand the name of a spell. -

Why are you arguing to death? It is unreasonable to demand such things. Many games, don't even have mod tools and don't even support mods. They don't have massive budget like traditional AAA games too. Plus, if you want mods, you can do it yourself. They aren't helping you do it, but the game recognize them. -

Every time I check up on this thread, mockup keep getting better and better. anyways, I think they did what they can with the given budget and time. The downside to kickstarter is that the fans money are a drop in the bucket compared to publishers, who spend at least 5 times as much. I wonder if that deal with Paradox allowed PoE to have a larger budget than it originally had. -
Combat: Action Icon- Recovery Bar

I really like axedice idea where enemy stats are listed next to the combat log, the action bar are located on top of the portrait, and enemy health bar on top center of the screen. All that information is actually kinda useful. Maybe its just me but the center menu seem unnecessary. Can we get a option where you can hide all those buttons and KEEP the clock. -

I like your latest mockup a lot Grotesque. I only hope that the official version would take some hints from this mockup and make changes to help make the modded ui possible. With that said , I like to make a few suggestions on the current UI: The combat log and conversation log needs to share a common location, bottom center. It makes transitioning from Conversation Menu into Head-up Display(I think its called HUD. Its where you see all the portraits, spells, combat log and stuff) more seamless. The eye naturally like to look there. From my experience, I'm more focus when entering a battle if the combat log in the the bottom center. Just like IE system, it expands when entering a Conversation. see gif below
