  1. Yeah, market shares and ease of access is of course the reason to only target Chrome users. It's cheap, effective and will most likely catch that damned plundering and murdering pirate in the act. I wonder if Microsoft will pursue some course of legal action here as well, assuming that's even possible. Doesn't look good for them when third party companies sell malware bundled with addons for their games that specifically target their greatest competitor.
  2. Natural Selection I guess. It's also a Half-Life mod, like the original CS. Never played it though.
  3. Just serves to see why swords were impractical weapons for untrained peasants. With a spear you'd need a lot less training to kill someone. Or to keep them at a distance. Or anything else, really.
  4. Just checked my stats out of curiosity, across Kickstarter and Fig I backed 51 projects, not all of them games though. I spent quite a lot on a levitating lava rock from Japan (well where else would anyone come up with that idea)...
  5. Hm, I tried Destiny 2's free trial. I uninstalled the game after finishing the first mission. Not sure why but Bungee shooters just don't click with me. Never have. Didn't like Halo either... and I actuall like shooters. Meh.
  6. Started catching up on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5. Nice that this is still going, it's a great example that a show can be carried just by the chemistry and charisma of its cast. Sure it's incredibly silly at times, has glaring plot holes at others and had a pretty bad run of episodes in the first season but hey, I could watch Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson for days without actually getting bored. edit: The dialogues are pretty fun too. "Okay, well, this is probably the part where I should explain..." "No. This is the part where May breaks your face." <3
  7. Like our continued posting on this board, most likely.
  8. Boy am I glad I didn't back this, I remember toying with the idea of getting that resin cast...
  9. And they're not letting up. At all. It's like aliens found Dungeon Keeper, didn't understand what was great about it and tried to recreate it.
  10. Well nothing beats free and I'm dying for some Dungeon Keeper. Even if it's bad... edit: Man, the reviews on GOG said the writing was bad. But this is "so bad it's good" type of nonsense. Too bad the game part isn't up for the fun so far.
  11. I don't know, when I rewatch VOY I never find myself in the situation that I absolutely don't want to continue because it's just an entire buch of terrible or boring episodes coming up. Rewatching ENT however is a chore throughout most of season 1 and pretty much all of season 2. Sure other Trek shows had a rough first couple of seasons. Even TNG had a terrible second season. But none of them had that distilled, overwhelming horse manure run of episodes that is ENT's second season season.
  12. I know someone who thinks Voyager is better than The Next Generation, so you're not even in the top spot for tastelessness (is that even a word?).
  13. What's the thing in the far left, lower row? Looks like a gun part than a gun. Also, is the 'high capacity semautomatic handgun' a flintlock pistol? Looks like one. Clearly not a counter-strike player Or someone that watched SG-1.
  14. Netflix just e-mailed me that they've gotten the rights for TBBT season 10 here. Which means I'll be watching that. I no longer keep up with the show when it airs and it's been on a steady decline since seasons 4 and 5 for me but it's still good for the occasional laugh or two. Which is more than I can say of most "comedy" available.
  15. The goblins had the best battlecry. Also loved that they didn't translate the goblin talk into English. Made them a nice inside joke for German speakers Schnell, haut ihm den Kopf ab, ich brauch einen neuen Aschenbecher! Ah, so they reused the line from the first game? Heh.
  16. I only mind weird save systems when it is clear that the only reason for it is becaus the developer doesn't like the player to save and reload as often as they'd like. For no other reason than "because" or some sense of superiority. Which I suspect is the case here, to be honest. Even in Age of Decadence saving was easily possible, and that's saying something... This extends to other game mechanics as well. Camping supplies in Pillars of Eternity com to mind. Wah wah rest spamming in Infinity Engine games, wah wah. Waaaaaaaah. If you don't like it, fine, then don't. What the hell is wrong with players being able to if they want? Question for players who already have the game, do vendors only buy items they're interested in, do they have a limited amount of money available and is there a barter system (edit: I realize I could just look it up, but humor me, it's been a long day)?
  17. This is just the deep state using deep learning to predict what you've forgotten that is owed to you, you've been swindled!! I'm pretty sure it's Soros' fault. Somehow.
  18. Never played any of the Sacred sequels but I enjoyed Sacred well enough, even if they went overboard with the stats. Who needs three seperate cooldown regeneration stats, two stats that increase hitpoints and a skill system where slotting skills in the gear changes the cooldown in a less daramatic fashion than learning them does in an ARPG? Although the sheer amount of viable builds resulting from the stat and gear chaos was pretty nice.
  19. I'm hearing a very dull bass beat through the walls. Someone close by is listening to "music" apparently. Am in half a mood to counter. My very nice SoundWorks subwoofer here can make glasses fall off the shelves. Two doors down. edit: Oh, wow. I'm hearing Gigi D'Agostino's Bla Bla Bla through the walls. There's good retro and then there's... that.
  20. Resident Evil has a nude Milla Jovovich. There is nothing wrong with this film.
  21. Time to be nitpicky. Blade came out before The Matrix. It cannot have been designed to look as much like the Matrix as possible (at least for first part, of course, which set both the tone and the style for the sequels - just before someone yells "but this deals with the trilogy").
  22. Oh, sure, gameplay caused some emotional responses before Wing Commander. Elation at winning, anger, frustration, the usual. 's why I specifically stated storytelling. My Creative Bundle came with a Sound Blaster Pro, a double speed CD-ROM drive and LucasArts adventures. Monkey Island with a real CD audio track was amazing. But that was a bit earlier than the 16 came out.
  23. This was the most blatant use of Talk no Jutsu since Naruto. The tension of the whole war, and Federation being in the brink of extinction, just goes *poof*. Poof. Like Slughorn's wee little fish Francis. Poof.
  24. Wing Commander 2. Thought the torpedoes I used were nuclear! Forgot I had the expansions actually, will be good to kill Jazz..eventually. Well that's what you get for asking Maniac what he'd like to see in a new fighter model. Of course it ends up carrying a dumbfire nuke. Torpedoes were just phase shield piercing missiles, according to the manual. I think Wing Commander 2 was the first game I've played where the storytelling affected me emotionally. I was sad when Spirit died and I really hated Jazz. With a passion.
