  1. Aye, fancy is the right word for it. Based on a scale from freezing an equal parts mixture of ice, water and salt at 0°, the freezing point of pure water at 32° and the average body temperature of a human at 96° back in 1724, at a time where neither measuring the average human body temperature nor mixing ice, water and salt equally could be reproduced with the necessary degree of accuracy. Not to mention that it's utterly nuts to limit a temperature scale at values like 0, 32 and 96 when the base of the number system used to express it is 10. edit: In all fairness though, mordern Fahrenheit is defined as 32° for the freezing point of water to 212, the boiling point at normal atmospheric pressure. It doens't make the scale look less weird for anyone else in the world but at least it's no longer a complete mess.
  2. Congratulations Spain, by the way. The less buttholes like Rajoy creep around in Europe the better. Now if we could only get rid of the EPP altogether...
  3. Might be that you won't like the ending that much tho.
  4. Yeah, and people actually think the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is actually a dictatorship. How can it be, having democratic and republic in the name? ''People's'' is the key word in it Do you disagree that Nazi's were socialistic or that they were nationalistic??? They weren't socialsts, no. Hitler violently purged what little his party had that could be considered socialist (Night of the Long Knives) and proceeded to set up a system of extreme right wing ideas combined with an economic "third option" that was neither socialist nor capitalist, not much surprising considering that the Nazis viewed both as the enemy. Business and state formed a symbiotic relationship in Nazi Germany, not one where the state owned everything (communist) or the state keeps out of it as much as possible (capitalism). It wasn't that different from what currently both right wing and left wing populists like to criticize about the current political climate - that big business can do as it pleases and buys favor with the governments. The Germans at the time were supposed to just take it. What makes Nazism and far-left extremism appear similar is the societal collectivism that formed the basis of the organisation of the state.
  5. More X-Files Season 11, just watched this Season's Darin Morgan episode and it's... pure gold. Quite possibly the best episode he's written yet. As long as they make one episode per season like that I don't care how crappy the mytharc is or how lame the other episodes are. Moar plx.

  7. Played Yoga Fire for 45h now and I feel like I'm not really progressing. A lot of that might actually come from leisure sailing across the world map, listening to the sea shanties. Kind of loving the setting and the music.
  8. ESO looks to me pretty successful, even though the craze is long over. I doubt they would go poaching in their own hunting ground. A Fallout MMO would be self-inflicted competition for an already dwindling player base. Something that didn't work out for Sony with EQ and EQ2 running at the same time and that was when MMOs really took off.
  9. Wasn't there only one Bioware game since ME3 and it bombed like hell? Inquisition and ME Andromedo. So 2, technically. I also won't buy Anthem. Neither DA:I nor Andromeda bombed "like hell" in terms of sales. What they didn't do was meet EA's inflated expectations* and both games had issues that didn't endear them to the fanbase. * No idea where those came from. DA2 was not very well received and ME3 ended up with fans sending BioWare thousands of red, blue and green muffins - and all of them were vanilla flavored. I found that quite hilarious.
  10. Sorry, I fixed the link in the post. It was... a joke. I’m American, so, the fine details of Polish politics are limited, so, I missed the joke you were trying to make. The entire world thinks Poland has a right wing populist government with a nationalistic, conservative and religious bent, except for Sharp_One. For him his government is run by socialist christians.
  11. Sorry, I fixed the link in the post. It was... a joke. I wanted to link to a specific post where he said the current Polish government is run by socialist christians. I could have just stated the joke outright but then he'd be back here demanding to know exactly where he stated that, or claim I misinterpreted his meaning while quoting verbatim.
  12. Guys, what? The current Polish government is led by socialist christians, where do you get the right wing idea from?
  13. On social issues maybe, everything else not so much. At least for the parts of Europe that were never in the Soviet sphere of influence, we're not that homogenic. We've got state run companies, socialized healthcare and things like a needs based minimum income. Our moderate right wing parties aren't debating whether socialized healthcare should exist - they just question how much it should cover.
  14. Pretty much. Especially when looking at Twatter posts. The funniest part is that the loonies on both sides of the spectrum are really similar. They're both collectives that are progressive for the sake of being progressive and reactionary for the sake of being reactionary. Both sides full of groupthink and accusing each other of it. It's hilarious when viewed from outside the bubbles. edit: Even more hilarious when you realize that the political "left" in the US would still be right of our moderate right wing parties here in Commieurop.
  15. The argument might have more traction if ABC hadn't dumped Maher while he was still working there after making fun of Bush after 9/11. Although that was in a time before Fecesbook and Twatter, so maybe that doesn't count.
  16. I doubt Beth will ever throw something the way of Obisian again after the little Metacritic issue went public.
  17. edit: Never mind, 's not worth it.
  18. If Fallout 76 is a Rust clone, will it also have your male characters' member size of your characters tied to your Steam ID? edit: Wait, what, really, the P-word is censored? Pfff. NIPPLES.
  19. You mean like Justin Bieber is actually a government plant meant to undermine the second amendment to the point where people stay docile when the government comes for their arms... and later themselves?
  20. Will this b ethe answer: Link1 Whataboutism, the #1 go to fallacy for the (alt-)right. I know it's doubly hard to understand for the them because they actually really believe all the media that isn't alt-right is run by Soros (or whatever Joo's the enemy now) with the same agenda but demanding that a different company fires someone else for a similar slight is somewhat ludicrous. Not that Maher shouldn't get fired. Comparing Trump to an Orangutan is an insult to these beautiful and intelligent animals.
  21. My own opinions fall somewhere between Mike's and Jay's. Although I attributed that lighting issue to the stupid 3D showings. They're all much darker than they should be.
  22. Ah, k. Must've missed that. Not that I care much for a new Fallout game. Bethesda RPGs are just not for me, I learned that the hard way with Morrowind.
  23. Beth's twitch stream has a Fallout figure against a background Fallout-themed standby screen. Since this is the day and age of... whatever... people are going crazy over it and watching absolutely nothing for hours. Paint Drying was a joke and a protest, this is for real. Oh well and Obsidian confirmed via Twatter that it's not them working on the new Fallout game. Assuming it even is a new Fallout. It might as well be Switch releases or remakes of the old games for newer platforms. And there's people who argue that the 80ies weren't the better decade to grow up in. Riiight.
  24. They're scrolls you can find in missions, when you read them they give you a password for the black market (three words connected with dashes, e.g. OARED-LURID-JINKS). I might be wrong but they have a higher chance of spawning in mines and factory settings. Offices not so much.
  25. Somehow I've lost all interest in fighting games. I used to play a hell of a lot of Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat and Killer Instinct way back when but that is so far in the past it seems like a lifetime ago.
