Well... yeah. Here's the rub though, I thought Anette was terrible on Dark Passion Play but ended up really enjoying her performance on Imaginaerium. I've by far and large stopped listening to Nightwish. No real desire to get used to another vocalist only to have her fired shortly thereafter. Speaking of new things, new single from Within Temptation. Not sure if I like that more than the pop-gothic they've put out in the past few years, although I don't mind them being a bit heavier again (or actually heavy, for a change, it that makes sense). I just never expected... well... dunno, this sounds like Nine Inch Nails at times. edit: Speaking of NIN:

Played Project Warlock, fun little retro shooter with a bunch of issues, I'm hoping future patches eventually fix the lighting (maps are way too dark unless you turn down the graphics quality) of the maps and the wonky performance.

That is being addressed with 1.1, events happening at the end of the month will have their deadline extended according to to the beta patchnotes.

It also left the Trek universe in a state that would be perfect for any sequel show. I'll spoiler mark this for Lexx since he's watching for the first time, anyway:

Lionhead Studios and Fable Legends would be the obvious example of a studio and a project completely messed up by Microsoft's interference. I'm expecting an eventual Obsidian and inXile merger in some form.

I'm not sure I'd craft Crom Faeyr for Anomen, he has easy access to Draw Upon Holy Might and later Righteous Magic, but slapping CF on him is certainly the low maintenance version. For my preferred BG2 party setup and playstyle CF is a nice weapon but not one I end up using all that much. By far and large my PC ends up being a Fighter/Mage or Fighter/Thief with an extra attack off-hand and Foebane and a permanent strength score of 22 anyway and NPCs that can pick up Whirlwind Attack usually end up wielding something flashy with two hands.

It's been a long while since I've played Baldur's Gate 2 and unless the Enhanced Edition really shuffled things around one can get Black Blood and Belm from Trademeet and the Druid Grove respectively, both available early on - and Spectral Brand in Watcher's Keep which available - if a bit hard at that point - just after leaving Chateau Irenicus. Sure she'll never reach the effectiveness of a custom built Fighter/Mage (well, what is) but there are some really nice druid spells to complement the fighting. Not to mention that Nature's Beauty is ridiculous. It won't kill hard enemies but permanent blindness with no save makes for hilarious boss fights. The only downside is the really long casting time and short range, but with Iron Skin and some heavy equipment a Fighter/Druid stands the best chances of pulling it off.

Finally finished the game. The last area was an excercise in patience: Extremely slow loading screens, ambushing Wild Hunt monsters and bugs. Like they really tried their damndest to get people to abandond the game just before finishing it. Not every happy with the game bug-locking me out of the secret ending but eh, I'll just do that after all the patching.

Newsflash: The purpose of playing Crpg's are for story, gameplay/combat was always horrid from realtime with pause systems. You were afterthe wrong thing. You do know that Tides of Numenera's combat system is turn based, right?

German long term welfare (which by far and large is the only thing most refugees can look forward to) aims to perpetually lock people in subsistence to serve as a source of cheap labor, not as support beam to help them rise back to their feet. You end up utterly dependent on the state, unable to particiapte in any form of social life and there's no silver lining or light at the end of the tunnel where everything becomes better if you work hard and improve - which is hard enough as it is without the state actively pushing them down. Modern serfdom, in the end - Guard Dog's worst nightmares come true. The people you see on these pictures are afraid that what little they have left will be taken away by foreigners. Their fears aren't completely unfounded. German serfs at least know about their rights and have legal representation or unions attempting to make their lot better. Immigrants fleeing death and destruction or starvation most likely don't care if they're illegally paid below minimum wage. It's easy to look at them from the outside and wonder why they all look degenerate, how they can be prejudiced or downright racist and why they vote for parties that promise them a better future and a common enemy to rally against. The truth is that they have nothing else to look forward to. Nothing else to do. They're right to think that Germany failed them. Right to think that Mutti Angela failed them. It's just not because of all the refugees. That's just a cheap way to unify and direct an otherwise aimless disillusionnment.

Maybe it's an adaptor to connect 2 PCs via USB, but those were usually bigger. You can try that, just hook up 2 PCs with it and see if they burn out and die. Then it's not one of those.

The House at the Edge of Time is a mess in my game. I played this character pretty much since release, a few companion quests were bugged (Tristian's never fired after his story part) and most of the master crafters didn't do much of anything. All in all it could have been worse, I guess. I'm not really looking forward to doing the rest of the House to be honest. I already hated the first map change stint in the First World and this turns it up to eleven. Anyway, the way the game handles companion quests (if they're not bugged) and their outcome at this point is bluntly put ridiculous and whoever came up with what happens in the First World related to choices you made should be hung upside down from their balls, enchanted with fast healing and flayed by Tsanna while having to listen to Jubilost's ramblings. Guess Volo was right all along, just go with a custom party.

So how many of those 150 hours were spent staring at loading screens and restarting the game? An awful lot to be honest. My party hauls almost a thousand pounds of consumables around just to be prepared for anything. Every battle I don't need to reload and replay is a blessing.

Well, as the saying goes, one never stops learning new things. I actually had no idea English has special grammar to express regrets.

Clerics have like 5 level 9 spells. Eh... Just finished one of the Bald Hilltop invasions. The first fight in the game (on normal) that I actually had to adapt my cleric's spellbook for, but that's what you get when you face enemies that spam paralyzing attacks at you in a frequency that even the best saving throws can't keep up. Bonus points for Freedom of Movement being the apparently only buff spell that has no higher level communal offshoot. Le sigh.

Since you'll be restarting - we've stated that before but it bears repeating, do yourself a favor and whenever a main quest comes up, leave everything else unattended and do it immediately unless you're 100% sure it will make you cross into a new month without you being able to go back to your kingdom in that time. I'd estimate a good two weeks is mostly enough to deal with everything and come back fast enough, provided you don't dally. Then you can assign advisors and spend the rest of the month on more exploration, then deal with the kingdom building in the meantime. Everything else will just give you grief.

I often get invisible visitors in my kingdom. They request an audience with me, then talk to me, all the while being under an invisibility spell. I find that rather rude, but well... it must be some Stolen Lands custom considering even Octavia and Tristian do it.

It's a testament to the game that I've played it for over 150 hours now even though the loading screens are terrible and plenty (and I thought Pillars was bad) and you can expect anything, really anything to break any time you click on something. Now if only someone would sit down and explain irregular verbs to the writing team. How did they not catch a single one during all the proofreading? I breaked inside a little every time, really.

My favorite In Flames album is Clayman. It came out after they toured with Moonspell and has some obvious influences from that tour as well, e.g. Clayman being the first In Flames album to feature synths if I remember correctly. It also helps that I really enjoy Moonspell, particularily Irreligious. Maybe an analogy will help. Imagine you're attending a hard rock festival with a surprise main act at the end of the show. You're paying up to 199$ to go see your favorite acts, including a few oldies and a bunch of cover bands. So far it's been kind of entertaining but nothing special. But the secret main act is still coming. There've been a few hints and teases and you kind of know what it is going to be about already. Then it finally happens, the main act comes onto the stage and is... Taylor Swift. Or in other words, if maybe if AC/DC showed up instead of Led Zepelin it would be reasonable to blame your expectations, but nobody goes to a hard rock festival to see Taylor Swift revealed as the surprise main act.
