  1. centurionofprix I think that biowereian romances are good example how to NOT make romances, not becouse they where 100% bad but becouse as an example in DAO. 1. Good romance with Morrigan but unfinished (so ant the end romance that starts good ends badly) 2. ****ty romance with Leliana the kindergarden queen. 3. unmature Alisteir for females at the age of 14 that never had a boyfriend .. 4. Zevran romance with is self trolling from biowere side ... the best was a jike made about it "in Zevran the best assasin also i like boys, if you let me use you i will show you my specialization" We have marly 1 accepteble romance (with morrigan) but still unfinished .. and even dlc about her don't help a bit. If Bio instead of 5 romance had focus on 2 (morrigan for males and alistair) for females and cut sex/kissing scenes and put this effort in makeing them more deep (expecially aliseir, and shallowest girl alive leliana, she even biten elanee). I think that winged elf romance .... was something beetween. I personaly know people that liked it, and hate it even more then biowereones. I think that winged elf romance from bg2 was weakest but still stronger then avarge biowere one (but morrigan was better)
  2. i see kindergarten here. The piont of this conversation is that there are some players that want romances (from poll we know that most of them) and some people that don't. Some of them have their reasons some only trolls. But the most people that are responding are people who don't want them .... weird. In general the point is that most "people that don't want romance" are trolling by useing "biowere inspired" images.... But in my opinion this type of actions are simle acts of shallow minds and irracional fear. becouse : 1. obs is makeing game not bio 2. this is not aa+ graphics game so bio-sexscene-based-something-like-romance is imposible. secondly most of you still don't get this... this isint about adding dateing sim intu PE becouse even if this is all about in this level of graphics is imposible. The only reason for romances and relationships is for narrative/wrthing side not visual efectish ... soo you don't see anyting you only read about it. So people that are mostly for eroge or daiting sim will be not interested in those kind of things. The real reason abot adding writhing/ narrativ romances for PE it's becouse it's simply realistic the same as talking, hate, frinship etc. And for me cutting then 100% out is like cutting talking or other things that go beyound sword swinging. If we apply logic from most people that don't want romances but innsted we use hate or talking in general is what we get. 1. Adding hate in to the game will brak the imersion of this game so it's better to cutt it down. 2. Hate as an emotion was never made 100% perfect so let's cutt it from be, we don't need characters to get angry if they don't do it perfectly. 3.Talking is egostroking, if you want to talk talk to your mom, but we made new mage spell that will make you feel powerful. 4. You are loner/ forest man and in general you are a loser if you want talking intu a game, becouse if you do then in reality you must be a type of person that have nobody to talk with ... yeaaaah echii hentai looser and egostroker !!!!! 5. If some characters arent made 100% perfect from dialog side lets make them complatly mute. 6. Hate, frienship and other type of relationships where never perfect so just cut them out and make some good archering mechanics for characters that can't get angry or be frind with someone .... 7. This is not talking simulator, so just cut that down and make everybod mute. If you want to talk play talking simulator or talk to you daddy 8 Adding hate as a emotion in general will take to much reasorces, and we need that for crafting and strongold. Excuse me but i see this type of logic here but insead of "hate" "emotions" and "talking" we have romance... i hope that someone can see that from a point of view of someone that is not anyromance/relationship natzi those type of sentences at this type of progres (when characters are still not-developted not talking even about storline) sounds endlessly stupid and narrowminded ... Some of those people risemble pokemone game fans that don't want talking main character, bcouse it was never was made in pokemon game series and will break immersion .... sigh... Give me a break ...

  5. I wouldn't even say it was cool then. It really didn't feel right in the game imo. But it was much more tolerable and much much less annoying than the inyourface implementations in some other games (ie: Dragon Age or The oh yea my character is a male sloot Witcher). That some have come to expect 'romance' and want them so much in their CRPG that there's as many threads in this forum about this subject.... well, to them I say go out and get a "Romance, Marriage, Pregnancy and having Children." in the real world, and perhaps you might not be clamoring so much for such things in this or any other game. There are games such as The Sims that are much better suited for folks who wish to pursue eromances and efamilies than a CRPG game, especially one that is aiming to be a really good one. dungeon troller ... go play diablo if you don't want character inteaction...good bye
  6. Exactly this - It's my preference that there not be named 'kit' style sub-classes at all, either, and you can just sculpt one through your choices. Lets say you start as a fighter in normal d&d setting you get bons talets to all armors and weapons (beside egsotic). But we know that "fighter" is not only "guy with heaave armor and sword" There are guy not useing armor at all like kensai there are diftent styles of fighting like 2 swords, 1 2handed, 2daggerst, weapon and a shield... not mentioning all kinds of weaponry like spears, axes, swords, dagers etc etc ... so yo got 1 lvl of fighter and gain all there specialitys ? Wizard, you chave difrent types of mages, and even in classical D&d mage who where specializing in 1 thing was better then one who was in all, besides being a mage who is destroing is diftent then baing ilusionist/tickster or healer/buffer ... if i play healer/buffer i don't want to see a sentence "wooow you mage teach me fire ball spell".. Priest as i sad priest of good god (lathander) will be 100% difrent then pierst of evil god or devil ... rogues, are you realy belive that one person can be perfecionist in traps, hiding, stealing, silent killlining etc ? what about paladins or ranger ? the term Ranger is combaining hunter, archer, wilderness expert etc ... and what if want to be hunter only ? paladins are not only fighter that buff team and comanders but also slayers of undead and darkness .. i mst be both if i want to slay undead and still be called "good comander ?" ...

Dwarven defender or weapon master also sound cooler then "fighter" Also Elementalist, Pale maser or even strom lord sound cooler then simlpe wizard of druid Besides this whole "name" more then just traits and abilitis is from role playing perpectiv. For example it gives more athmosphere if you are playing assasin and somebody says "how many people have you killed" insed of guesing in cases of rogue "are you killing, stealing or hiding ?" i think that some classes exmecionaly figher and wizard and priest is to much general and at least with those thre classes everybody agree that priest of lathander is something waaaaaay difrent then pierst of baal/ cyric/ talona

There are certainly enough people here for whom what you said does apply, but I guess it should be said that theoretically the core narrative of RPGs should achieve the things you are looking for. However, I do believe that allowing the player to create their own narrative (so to speak) by granting freedom and interactivity can add a lot to this dimension, which is why I tend to lobby for a less linear and more holistic experience. In my opinion arguing about romances or character interaction and calling them "stupid" is the same as a fighter player callinf mage player stupid becouse he take mage not fighter ... kiddy stuff. romances etc etc etc ... they are all giving more possibilitys for role play. Adding more possiblitylis and freedom in game is one of the thing Skyrim gain 8/10 notes without even good main plot. Adding more personal plot (character related) like in Wticher is giving you less freedom, but even then if you know that "you must do something" you shoud have at least possiblity to think for your own and react difrently to this conflict or "main story", one shoud become more loner, one shoud drunk his problems with alkohol and women and some shoud say "ok but im still living" and give him possibility to do so ... Not only becouse of psychological and realistic point of view but also becose difrances in roleplaying difrent characters and their psychological evolution and how their menage problems (writhing art) was and always will be the core of every rpg. Even if Blizzard is not thinking so by makeing WoW or diablo 3 for tose who want overreaact their agression or stress form hole day by slotering and blood bathing in dungeons ...
  9. Magic gaved only mind resistence, and extra piots drinking potions. if you where a temlar you don't need it becouse you get a bost to mind resistence and you mage killer besiacly. I played dwarven fighter with berserer/(dark templar?) specialization and even then i killed every mage before he killed me besides in DAo we see prefect potion spawning when you can crate 100 potions i wery simple way ... i created them only 2 times and it was for whole game with DLCs

  11. I am not taling about logical and at thinkings people like you who have theirs opinion and some reason behind it. Im talking about people that are more consern about looting dungeons, and spear swinging mechanics then characters "psychical" and "inner develop" with is the core of RPG games. We have games like diablo 2 where you have only fights and looting and it's ok, even i play this type of games if i don't want to think to much. But some people ar opposite to romance without any good reason. About misses and hits on romance ... you see i know a person who is likeing even Elanee romance from NWN2 with in my opinion was the worst. A good example is "Aiere" (i don't remember name but she was winged elf from BG) some people love tis romance some hate ... The most mises where made nowadays by bioware studio and their way of makeing shallow romances with special efects but they where never good at writhing. the only obsidian romances that i hate is that for Elanee becose she was in general badly desined and don't even compare her to Jaheira .... My personal favorite id Aribeth from NWN1 original, why ? Becose it was one of the most complexed ones,bah ... you even fight with her at the end ... I think that there is not 100 good romances and 100 bad (beside this elanee) most of romance ar something beetwen. For example Morrigan romance from DAO was good in my opinion but becose of EA pushing Biowere to finish erly, it was unfinished ...

  13. Yeah i whoud prefer them but i seen mor types of specs in other games so i whoud like to know your opinion about this subject :D hehe ... Morowind class creator ... ahhhh that was awsome .....
  14. Yeah whats your opinion on this topic. We know that we will propably be able to custimize our character but what yo think about those type of specialization like hunter for ranger, assasin for rogue etc.

  16. You see, having a game that is "heavy" in plot doesn't mean that you wont have some time, if yo weren't they will not add crafting and enchanting with can be time killer f someone is intu it. Shoping was always a bif thing in d&d games. Why not put in level higher ? Insted of 1500 for buying longsword and selling for 500 mechanics, why not small economy ? Where if you can wait and be patient you can ern 1500 for it ? Secondly Stronghold is another thing why this is good, every noble or "stronghold" owner must have profits, and for me "item +1" looting system mechanics is stuid and imerstion breaker becouse you simly feel that desiners put this item for you there for you to loot it and sell it to "keep" running you stronghold ..... If yo have no magical item spawning in the end of NWN2 and still mostly encounter normal items you whoud propably bulid only 2/3 power ps to your stronghold.
  17. In general i think that it is not an option for PE to not haveing any type of romantic/sexual interaction. Even if player is not involved in this, we will see some people that have some kind of romantic/sexual relationship. So why not player ? If i play a game where i can be mage, paladin, barberian, cypher, rogue, fighter, druid, priest, ranger and mayby something else, and in ech i have possibillity to play 1 of 5 races it is a lot of opitons. In that case human mage will act difrently then aumamaua barberian and he will difrently then elfish cypher etc. Thirdly we have backgrouds that gives as even more possibilitys of roleplay. fourtly we have possiblitys to act difrently dyrng the game play and even propably end this game in difrent way.... so.... If we have so much possibiltys for role play, then why all thes romance-haters want to force those who want romances to THEIR one RIGHT way for playing. I don't want another NWN2 oficial campain in with if you play a fighter or mage you see no difrences beside mechanics.... if i want to play anti-sexual monk aumaua i want to see options with can grant me that and i don't want to be forced to flirt that character, but if i want sexual elfish cypher i also want to see that option.... we have so mych options for developing character form mechanical point of view, why not from other.... or you guys want to play mage and fighter and discover that there are no difrences in those ...? i sudgest diablo 2 No romances Good fight Good Mechanics Loots of looting No character psychical developing ....

Romance YES Sex acts YES Marriage MAYBY Pregnancy NO Having Children YES I whoud more see it like "after defiting archdevil, "Char name" and "Chick name" become lovers, and after some yers they have child" etc as possibly ending. This require few more dialogs and ending so i don't understand why not make some people happy if it costs so little, i even think that Aribeth type of romane from original campain but with good ending whoud be ok. Beside what about romancing arch enemy, for example: Evil Aribeth, Valsharess, Woman Demon, Vampire etc. and im talking about realy "Evil" ones ... If you are evil then some activitis like rapeing, romancing someone to gain something (power for exampe) or even flirt with someone to make him ally to you cose ... whoud be normal part of your personality ... of course if someone see evil not only as "Joker" type of psychopath .. and serial killer ... Look at BORGIAS they kill, poisoning, assasinaiting, romanceing, sexing, etc .... and they like it hahaha
  19. "outcomes"? Considering you're using it in conjunction with "income," are you using it (incorrectly, obviously,) to refer to expenditures? How is that any different from RPGs as it is? You craft, find, steal items and sell them, that generates income. You use that income to purchase things, expenditures. Basically you're asking for a game like Recettear to be recreated in P:E and Skyrim elements, i.e. chopping wood, selling chopped wood for paltry sums. And if you think a woodcutter makes anything but paltry pay you're sorely mistaken. The "job" of going out and killing people and animals and monsters and demons and such is inevitably more profitable than doing peasant labor. And buying low/selling high is an ideal anyone strives for in any RPG, they don't need to make special systems revolving around an idea you got from a Japanese porn game. And wat about eating, sleeping, and other outcomes that normal people have ? Yeah choping monsters sound fun, but i want PE be more "live" game with normal persons, not clone of Diablo 3 in more icewind daleish setting. Choping wood in Skyrim was not made to good in general. Im thinking more about other incomes and outcomes like companions must eat, sleep and mayby buy something to them self instead of buying 40 kilos of apples like in Mount and blade setting, you coud have secial raport about their cost during the day. Secondly i will understand you argument about "jap porn game" if i wanted sex scenes in PE, but im talking about economycal not pornish part of that game ... besides im thinking even about this type o mechanics, for example, you loot or craft lonsword + 1. If you whoud like to buy that you must spend 1500 gold but if you want to sell it to a merchant you take only 500 gold. instead of makeing to easy to sell this item in his proper price, you coud take it to your shop and wait, after 3-4 day sword shoud be selled and you gain 1500 gold insted of 500 but yo must wait some time .... Bach... even if you don't have a "shop" but yo are (beside of adventcherer" a traveling merchan you take that longsword to your "shop" window and wait till a customer buys it .... In skyrim was choping wood and farming but this simply does not belong there, but if you ever played Gothic 2, you also coud encounter a part time job quest at the begining to make some gold with you coud spend on buying an armor/clothes with coud provide you possibility to pass thru town guards ... i think that this idea is god, and i hope that everybody that wants from this game to be more then copy of diablo 3 with not so god graphics see that to ....

  21. Hi It was a long time since i been here, acording to new update there will be some nice crafting system. So for example if we create a magic sword in normal D&D games if we sold it whe have only 1/2 his total price. But thats not the worst, i somethimes think "beside world saveing" is my character realy ably to think for his own, for example a normal character beside being only hope for humanity he whoud like to ave some gold and some place in the world. I think that idea of small economy i wery good thing bt what is this "small" ecenomy i mean incomes and out comes, are party need money, need food, need some influnecne (gained by money) in the world. I played two games in with i realy like those things, it was fable 2 (jobs, and owning) and eroge kamidori (shop menagement). For example we can buy a shop and create some weapons and our clerk (not sed party member or hired one) will sell it when we are exploring dungeons. Secondly and idea of part time jobs like woodcutting gives some "life" into world, for course this tpe of jobs still requerie some animations but it also coud be done NWN type of style when you don't see animation and only tekst "a 5 pieces of wood was cut" etc. what are your opininion ?
