You want to copy Sweden now do ya? :)

We've been doing that since the 70's!

I've mentioned it before, but still; Started as a DNA database for research, was used by the police to identify the killer of a politician, and now they're looking into actually allowing police to use it, and private insurance firms aswell. Good stuffs.

I remember that discussion about how you got yours removed from the database. I just think of the medical and crime fighting benefits and believe that should be the next step for society. Ill leave all the doomspeak to others. Hell, my method (taking samples at birth) would take generations to become effective, what I really want is an instant mandatory DNA collection of all citizens, but that would never fly. :(

I'm not sure if you're seriously insane, ignorant, evil, or not serious at all. So well played there, maybe.

    As for 'never'....

    Never say 'never'. ;)

Just to play devil's advocate, what is your objection to it?

(Also Gfted1 also obsessively wants to pilote remote control drones. I think he's into distopian futures.)

My objection to mandatory DNA collection of all citizens?

I could list at least a few objections, but I'll stick to just this big one:

I'm a big advocate of individual freedom, and generally don't support government mandating much of anything.

In the U.S.. there certainly is no Constitutional authority for government to be mandating DNA collection of all citizens (not that this often matters much these days...).

  3. That article explains why Kalifornians love immigrants - much easier to take advantage and abuse them.  Just more  facts to show how bigoted, racist, and hateful Democrats are.

Eh... it's not just immigrants, nor is it just trucking.

Similar stories can be found throughout many industries. A product of many things, but the two primary drivers are often international 'free trade' and government regulation (especially the 'save the environment' kind). Both of which tend to serve the owners of industry one hell of a lot more than average Joe.

  4.

    Huh....

Does anyone here know to what I refer?

Nope, we are all too daft here to understand. I thought you knew that already?

    Speak for yourself.

As a history teacher, you should most definitely know to which I refer, though it doesn't surprise me even remotely that you don't.

It would surprise me however if no one here knew. There are a few relatively astute people on this forum.

I may start a thread on this, or I might pm a few that I suspect might know. Not sure yet.

    I disagree.

Don't worry, I'm not going to shoot you.

What if he flips you the bird

He cuts you off and you're forced to swerve

    Infront of a tour bus

A bookmobile and a mack truck

    Hauling hazardous biological waste

The light turns red, you have no brakes

And "Hard Copy" gets it all on tape

So you can see the look on your face

    What about then?

    I'll still disagree.

Rand Paul talked about how its a good thing there were police there because the gun laws there didn't allow any of them to have their guns so they were defenseless against the shooter.

Wonder how many of them would bring their guns with them and have them readily available from the field.

I always play baseball with a rifle over my shoulder and a revolver in my waistband.

    I should try that.

Might make what I find to be a less interesting game more fun.

    Such a great album.

Almost saw them again last week. Wish I had given the reviews of the show and venue, but I skipped it due to already having plans to go to a good 20+ shows this year. Sometimes I do dumb things.

If you ever get the chance to see them though, a great show they usually do put on.

    Isn't propaganda grand?

Anyone who thought Brexit was going to happen without an illegitimate fight, was mistaken. May's call for election had predictably fabricated results.

My prediction is Brexit will not happen, unless there's blood on the streets, and at that point war won't be far behind.

Blood on the streets and war is on the horizon, but probably a little further out than the timeline Brexit needs to occur in.

You know the biggest difference between you guys and me? My response would be exactly the same whether the candidate were christian, muslim, or the lord high bishop of the church of Volurn. Who he prays to when he bows his head has exactly nothing, nothing what so ever to do with his ability to do his job. Sanders is the one who made this an issue. It was an ugly tactic by an angry little man.

So he "thinks" non-Christians are all going to hell. Are they? No? Then who cares what he thinks. Don't believe in hell? Then who cares what he thinks. Can he crunch numbers and will he report any wrongdoing he sees? That is really all that matters.

My response is exactly the same regardless of whether the candidate is Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Satanist, or atheist: if the candidate is set on making a public statement condemning other groups on a total non-basis - if it's a Christian saying Muslims have a "deficient" theology or that all non-Christians are "condemned", or an atheist calling Christians "idiots" or "ignorant" and denouncing all religions, or a Muslim calling non-Muslims infidels or whatever - and then repeatedly reinforcing that statement when later questioned about it with the lame excuse of "Well, as a Christian...", it's going to raise some serious red flags for me on their ability to treat and serve all types of Americans equally. I one hundred percent agree with Bernie Sanders on his final statement: I'm not sure we need any more kinds of these candidates who evidently set on condemning and looking down upon entire groups of Americans for no other reason besides their stinking religion. As you literally just put it yourself a few posts ago, "[We] are heading down a dark road when [we] start judging people on what is going on in their heads." That's exactly what this candidate did, and it's why some of us would feel uncomfortable with him when it concerns a not insignificant amount of people on a total non-basis.

I genuinely do not understand why everyone is up about this....

Because a lot of people have been brainwashed to knee jerk react negatively to home grown religious peoples, particularly Christians.

The best part of all of this is Bernie wasn't even remotely sincere in his line of questioning or criticism, yet he successfully stoked the fire. Good job evil politician.

  10. You know the biggest difference between you guys and me? My response would be exactly the same whether the candidate were christian, muslim, or the lord high bishop of the church of Volurn....

But there differences between the three!

Priests of Volourn get +3 on rolls vs Nazis.

It's not a bad class choice.

  11. It's important because Mr.As-a-Christian brings strong beliefs and values based on nothing but a book that might as well have the worth equivalent of fairytale...

You are thoroughly ignorant of one hell of a lot of theological and philosophical writings and discussion, as well as one hell of a lot of history, including the history of the very thing you think should be: "Politics and religion are to be strictly separated".

    Please fix that.

  12. I am not here to convince you guys about anything.

Can we agree at least on these:

    1. laws of country should be followed if they are not un-democratic/anti-freedom

    2. Dublin agreement is not followed by south states of EU

    3. a lot of 'refugees' are coming from states which have large population of people who support killing heretics/gays/jews .. you name it

    4. a lot of these 'refugees' is hard to identify due to lack of any reliable documents

Is this statement true or not?

if we can't agree on this this discussion is pointless from start...

On #1... it's incredibly subjective in the modern world what 'un-democratic' even means,  and it's very arguable that all laws are 'anti-freedom'.

Also, discussions are only pointless if no one actually listens, and you have people just spouting reactionary bleh at one another making no progress. Certainly that happens here more than it doesn't, but the lowbrow conversation isn't universal on this forum.

Conversation can be worthwhile no matter what anyone thinks of your bullet points so long as people actually 'listen' and think. Most here (or sometimes seemingly anywhere) barely ever do, but some do, so I'd say the conversation is worthwhile.
