  1. I couldn't find a quotes topic, so I'll put this here:
  2. Getting around to Battle Bros dlc and my six Spatens. So far just dying a lot, like always, but at least it tastes good.
  3. Ah, the revision begins. I'm sure the usual, priestly talking heads are busy sanctifying the man, they earlier this year fell on with #metoo shenanigans, because Americans have the attention span of gold fish and the memories of gnats. I'm also certain we're knocking on his big dream of a friendlier, social credit America policing itself into oblivion. No. In reality, he and Cheney were and are disgusting sycophants. Of course, President Bush wasn't allowed to just enjoy the show quietly. He hobnobbed with country stars and celebrities and offered this memorable zinger: "When I need a little free advice about Saddam [Hussein], I turn to country music" (quote via Entertainment Weekly).
  4. I was not talking about economic viability in this post at all. Because Fallout 4 "sold better" does not make it a "better" game. That is the result of aggressive and successful marketing. Lots of inferior products outsell better products because the inferior products are marketed better. You can go to any aggregate score website, and F:NV scores better among consumers than does Fallout 4. That is what makes it a better game. Given the fact that nearly 40% of the people who responded to this poll listed F:NV as their #1 favorite game by Obsidian... it is clear that people here want more games like F:NV than Fallout 4. I don't think that people work at Obsidian because they hope to become multi-millionaires, they work there to work on the types of games that they like and enjoy. Provided that they are able to afford the things they enjoy in life, they are probably content to not be making boatloads of money, but being able to make great cRPGs. I'm all about capitalism and ambition, but sometimes you have to pick your values over potentially making more money. It isn't clear in the op's first paragraph what the point of your post was, its buried somewhere in the body of the thing. In fact, I'm not seeing a cogent idea anywhere, until the fourth or fifth paragraph, where you tell me the point is "I like F:NV". Your real idea is even further away, spread across two or three more paragraphs. The title is at least misleading, don't you agree? I tried to find the lesson in your op, couldn't find one. My cautionary tale's better, I think. You can't expect people will meander with you through a haphazard formatted, stream-of-consciousness post. I mean, anybody can make a poll what their favorite obsi game is. You should have just stopped there m8. Also, I have no idea why you're talking about capitalism and multi millionaires in response.
  5. Oh yeah, I remember the triangle dialogue wheels talk. Or was it about character alignment and simplifying interactions?
  6. : LOL I think she was absent the day they taught socialism in school! Busy, make-work jobs are everywhere these days. I wish I could get paid for breaking windows. k, here's something I found:
  7. Does Gromnir have a mouse in his pocket? Anyway, I thought we were talking about the art, not the mechanics, since we already know it is an action (rp)game.
  8. The only way I'd watch it again is if they added multiplayer.
  9. I preordered as soon as they announced it.
  10. Like a RPG with Dance Dance Revolution segments? Yes, and the DJ is actually our twin sister. Dust off your copies of Arcanum:
  11. Wait, what? How? Oh, it gets better: https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/rudolph-the-red-nosed-reindeer-disturbing-details_us_5bfe058fe4b0f43bf2661c7f When grognards have nothing else to complain about for attention, score some easy social credit by picking on 50 year old stop-motion.
  12. I sense a new origin story for Spider Man...
  13. I got this great eggplant costume for 200 dollars xD
  14. Ok, the bag is nylon, but the game is about dragons! That's what you need to be pissed about. Has everybody seen this?
  15. What does the op have to do with Fallout 4 and 76 cautionary tales? Fallout 4 outsold all ten Skyrims combined. People who actually paid to have online-mode for Fallout 4, instead of waiting for the inevitable fan mod, deserve a little heck for their imbecility. People need to remember their relationship to all these marketing people running the industry has nothing to do with delivering great games, so just never purchase day one to be sure. Never purchase on brand or company logo recognition, that's my cautionary tale.
  16. Bethesda should assemble the project Offset guys. Here, I'll add something: https://www.gog.com/game/battle_brothers_beasts_exploration
  17. So much literally shaking right now, like oh my god.
  18. So do EU members want a cut of the loot box profits, or is this a move to ban them? I don't know how gambling's regulated over there.
  19. Now I am even more confused. Satsuma and Choshu were apparently anti-western, but it doesn't look like that in the game. There even was that one pro-emperor faction that starts out with western trade routes. So I pretty much played the campaign wrong, because I've constantly developed pro-western. :D Now that might explain why my people were so pissy all the time. /edit: Ok, it seems they wanted to use western technology to drive out westerners from Japan. Still quite hypocritical, imo. Japanese are still known for putting on a face: private vs public morality. Its a neo-confucian thing. Japan watched the century of humiliation in China with anxiety. They opted to industrialize and try imperialism for themselves, doing Great Britain's dirty work in Korea and Manchuria. When Japan became stronk, the west became afraid, and that never ends well.
  20. Its a very easy game, but fun too. There was a lot of grousing over lack of unit variety, but combat AI is so pitiful anyhow it can't utilize variety.AI felt pretty normal for a Total War game. :D What causes me most trouble now is the constant harassment over endless rebels and enemy spy attacks. So annoying. That it is *sigh* The shogun didn't have a choice, the US aimed a canon at his head and asked to come in politely. XD If you get the time, here's the Meiji Restoration in a nutshell: https://youtu.be/oIiCsR9rZS8
