- Americans set to get standardised/universal healthcare
Ok. Its not my job to raise you.- Dragon Age Origins
Heh, sorry if that was a spoil to you.- Dragon Age Origins
In DA, all mages have a Staff of Unlimited Pew Pew, much like the archers unlimited arrows. Low damage attack, but hey, its free.- World of Warcraft
Lemme pick your brain Calax. Maxdps.com, under the cloth gear and in the helmet category, has my current helmet Gaze of the Unknown (Item level 219) rated at 305.93 DPS while a higher level item Conquerors Kirin Tor Hood (Item level 226) rated at 262.02 DPS. Why is that? Obviously one has more base SP but the other one makes that up and more with the socket bonus. Is it due to the Crit on the lower level item? EDIT: You can see them side by side here.- What you did today
Very cool, and look theres one for sale in AU. What color did you order?- What you did today
- Swine Flu
Not quite. The old seem to have an immunity based off exposure to the 1915 (?) strain that killed a whole bunch.- Dragon Age Origins
Two and a half men is also a favorite in my household and Rose is hysterical. I literally laugh out loud every time she enters and exits via the balcony. You may or may not know, because I think our sitcoms run a season or two behind over there, but , which I think is a damn shame.- Pictures of your games
Hehe, I was staring at that first picture trying to figure out what the hell you meant. Ive seen that from a different company and on my server, they do it in front of the entrance to the AH in Orgrimmar.- Americans set to get standardised/universal healthcare
Down goes Frazier! Hopefully, with his across-the-boards ratings starting to circle the drain, this will be a one term presidency. I can only handle one trillion dollar charity case per term.- Unit 731
- Dragon Age Origins
In DA, you can pause with the spacebar and que up attacks, exactly like we did in BG.- World of Warcraft
My guild hasnt quite figured out 10-man ToC yet and 25-man is still far out of reach. Answer me this though, you know how you dont get a break between bosses in 10-man ToC? Does that mean there is only one loot drop at the end of the third boss? As you can tell by that last sentence, Ive yet to be in a group that passed the second set of bosses (the two worms).- so pissed at Obsidian
Never played No One Lives Forever 1/2, The Longest Journey, Portal or Beyond Good And Evil? I weep for you. No, Ive never played any of those. I even go so far as to try to make the avatar look as close as possible to me, but there usually isnt a good looking enough portrait to choose from.- so pissed at Obsidian
What is TC? Seriously. Thread Creator? EDIT: I can kinda see the op/tc's point. I wouldnt enjoy being forced to play a female and probably wouldnt buy the game either. I want my toon to be my virtual asskicking self.- World of Warcraft
Sometimes that's what happens in Raids. But with the badges you're getting it should start evening out. Besides ToC is FAR easier with better gear. Yeah, Ive alread mined 5-man ToC for every possible mage item. On the upside, my Venomhide mount will be ready in 4 days and Ill get the 45 Emblem of Triumph shoulders in 7 days.- NFL Season 2009
- World of Warcraft
*sigh* Ulduar is starting to piss me off with the lack of cloth drops. With the exception of Ignis (who ownes our faces for some reason) Ive killed; Flame Leviathan, Razorscale, XT, Kologarn, Freya and Hordir multiple times and have yet to see single cloth piece drop. All I walk out of there with is a huge repair bill and 40g worth of potions lighter.- Scary or unexplainable things that have happened to you
Me either, thank god. If I ever do encounter something, all that ghost is going to see of me is a vapor trail heading in the opposite direction.- Dragon Age Origins
Not to mix in too much reality here, but are the bows really oversized? Werent English longbows around 6 feet from end to end?- Kotaku article!
Of course it's a divergence from societal norms. That's just a statement of the obvious though, rather than providing any sort of reason. If it wasn't a divergence from societal norms, it wouldn't be an issue at all. Tomboy only applies to younger women. However, a "tomboy" is certainly more accepted than an effeminate young man. Why is that? Both are divergences from societal norms, yet one will be significantly more ostracized than the other. Why is that? Because its a "mans world" and men are expected to be "manly"? IMO, in our "mans world", being an effeminate male (even if straight), or being gay, is a sign of weakness when compared to the male norm, not because we think that person wants to be a female and we think less of females. I also think our male dominated society, on some level, finds female homosexuality to be arousing, thus more acceptable, but that may just be me.- Kotaku article!
Yes, but why do you think that is? I think you agree with me more than you disagree. As you mention, the problem with the little boy is the assumption that he is either gay, or will grow up to be gay. And what is he doing by being gay? He is lowering himself to being like a woman. The stereotype of gay men is that they are like women, they enjoy and take part in the kinds of things that only women are supposed to. Gay men are like women and thus less than men. When a straight man freaks out because a gay man came onto him, it's because he's scared it will cast doubt on his own sexuality. People might think he is is gay, people might think he is less than a real man, more like a woman. Homophobia is not a fear of people who are gay, it's a fear of an association with homosexuality, having your masculinity and maleness put it doubt. I dont think the lack of acceptance for homosexuality is due to fears over a male lowering himself to being like a woman, but more based on the fact that its a rather large divergence from societal norms. I think anything that strays too far off the norms of the society you live in suffers the same ostricism. After all "tomboy" is not complimentary, we are not elevating the female for acting male, we are specifically point out how that female is different from the female norm.- iBUYPOWER PC's
Wow, the V2 is one hell of a machine, but that price doesnt include a display? Ouch. Whats the processor speed of the 950 chipset? As to your question, sorry but Ive never heard of iBUYPOWER.- Kotaku article!
I disagree on this point. I dont think its so much that a female is "elevating" herself while a male would be "lowering" himself as it is a (wrongful) assumption on the males sexuality. Homosexual acceptance has come a long way but, imo, a homosexual male is much less acceptable to society then a homosexual female. - Americans set to get standardised/universal healthcare
