  1. You two should meet up for some Tim Horton's or something.
  2. Generally speaking, "teaching the company a lesson" will fail. Nobody is irreplaceable and you can bet that theres someone else who would be happy to have your position. By all means, if youre unhappy and have an alternative job, you should go. I just dont want to see you shoot yourself in the foot because you are angry.
  3. So, git gud?
  4. The secret life of Distracted Boyfriend’s girlfriend…
  5. I thought you were pointing out the benefit of the US dollar being the "reserve currency". My point is that the benefit amounts to around 100B in lower "borrow costs", which is hardy any offset to our trade deficit.
  6. Are you referring to reserve currency? Assuming the link is correct, that's worth around 100B.
  7. Do we have a trade surplus with any country?
  8. Aye, we would both benefit from stopping trading with each other.
  9. Oh noes, that would be a real loss for the US?
  10. Behold the solution to all the worlds beer pumping problems.
  11. Heh, I just watched that video (with lyrics) on YouTube. "But mad dogs and Englishmen Go out in the midday sun" BTW, you Brits are hard to understand when you talk fast!
  12. Probably a case of the "telephone game" where everything becomes distorted over time and retelling of the story. Im not sure if this link is any more accurate: Orde Wingate: Eccentricity in Action. For example, that link claims the alarm clock thing was:
  13. Googled up her artwork, very nice! Good luck and all that jazz.
  14. Interesting. Besides the climate, I believe Florida is a retirement destination for two reasons; 1) No state income tax 2) a $25000 homestead exemption.
  15. They must be here under visa or green card. I don't think one can simply walk into Mordor land in Miami international airport and chill out for the rest of their lives.
  16. I don't think an "immigrant" is supposed to float along indefinitely. Its a transitional period to becoming a citizen. At least Im not aware of anyplace where you can just immigrate to some country and then do nothing about citizenship and live there for the rest of your life.
  17. But you have to be at least 18 to vote in the US. Assuming they, and their family, have been residing in the US for that long I would hope everyone would have had their paperwork together by that time. I suppose the child could be born, then the parents immediately deported, then the child strikes vengeance 18 years later against the political party that was in power during the parents deportation.
  18. Right of foreigners to vote in the United States. They cant vote unless they are citizens (well probably in CA they can ) and if they are citizens they wont be deported.
  19. Yeah, the French get a bum rap. Until the 1900's they were a beast. Maybe its a play on the fact that France used a completely white flag for a little while?
  20. German occupation of north-east France during World War I. German military administration in occupied France during World War II. Are you referring to?: Military battles of Vichy France.
  21. Empty threats amuse me. Trump will be gone in 3-7 years at which point ye ole pendulum swing will return tariffs to pre-Trump levels. Meanwhile, in the interest of "making a statement", Harley will incur gigantic expenses to create a new manufacturing facility in the EU. How long before Harley makes that investment back and then starts seeing a profit on it?
  22. Nah, I think you have to have your country militarily occupied two or more times in under a century to qualify. But we can make an exception for the current qq generation that cant accept differing opinions.
  23. Did you read that poor tortured post up above? Another 9/11 would push our population into immediate surrender. France would be forced to come up with jokes about our military failures!
  24. But Trump has only been in office since 20 Jan 17. Since this tender flower has cratered into: grief, disbelief, incredulity, disappointment, amazement, sickness, grief (again) and sadness (is sadness different from grief x 2?) over this, then I really don't see much hope for middle ground.
