  1. Okay - poll closes at the end of the weekend - so feel free to vote for those who have not yet done so.
  2. Yep there's definitely a sense of an AotS submission herein ...

  6. Thank goodness - ME is an evil plague on the face of the earth I have had no end in supporting clients who have yet to migrate to XP. The rationale that it is paid for, seems to trump 'it's no longer supported and continues to cost you by having me here.'
  7. Now that is weird how did you do that? And would you repost the GDDR 4 discussion you started? If you want, of course
  8. I thought the observation around OEM adoption was interesting. I just read another article on the sales that are occurring now and the concern that the market in most western countries is pretty saturated and that the irony is that Vista may have better penetration in countries such as India & China!
  9. Ah java and IE - something that has always been an issue. Do you think IE 7.0 will be any more secure?
  10. Thanks for that Pop. It is great to see actual findings posted in such an accessible way.
  11. Windows Vista for Gamers: Graphics Card Performance Preview I enjoyed this article and I thought this observation was telling indeed:
  12. Thread Pruned: Though there are always temptations to communicate in a manner that is less than caring ... to deride the person is not really part of the letter or intent of the Forum Guidelines.

  19. Kirilla - any update for us?
  20. Yes to clarify I too meant open standard - sorry for not beling clear. Good clarifying question alanschu!
  21. Okay folks - voting will likely be closed by day's end ... so remember every vote counts
  22. I think that is a very good and challenging question. I think that there have been enough start-ups in the last few years (rather reminiscent of the .com bubble) that revolve around open-source add-ons/tweaks/products that the sky is really the limit. It's just whether or not there is a strong enough dissatisfaction with the consumer base of closed systems ... not sure if we're there yet, but it'll be interesting to see how the open source community does/does not respond to Vista's pressure on its supply chain highhandedness ... or so my imagining likes to flirt ...
  23. Well I've seen two threads derailed today ... sad really ... Note: Feel Free to try again ...
  24. Okay I'm sensing derailment on the horizon - if it has not already occurred. Thanks for the general civility and respect herein. I'm liking it Respectfully, Fionavar
  25. I've always gone with Samsung fwiiw ... the best test is to see it in action if you can.
