  1. All NFS games sucked hard, but 'undercover' was so bad it was hillarious. And Interstate 76 was crap, all you ever did was drive around eachother in circles trying to outturn your enemy so you could hit him with your big guns. It was literally a flight simulator with everyone locked to the same height, a cool idea but it didnt work. But Shift is an NFS game in name only. I mean really, they were working on a more realistic racing game to compete with Forza and Grand Turismo, and EA thought they could sell more if they called it "Need for speed", so they did.
  2. ladies and gentlemen, Last thread we did stumble over a subject that I thought was so interesting that Im making a whole new thread about it. Are women more shallow than men because they tend to go for money/power while men go for appearance/bootyliciousness? Stereotypicly speaking, of course. Theres nothing wrong with a man having a sugarmama. Also, try to keep the misogygny on an entertaining level. Personally I find it not only logical, but an act of utter selflessness to choose a partner based on appearance instead of financial or social status. A wealthy partner will provide a comfortable life for you personally, but a hot partner will ensure your children will be hot and live the awesome life that hot people live. And since attractiveness is a sign of good genes, they will be strong and healthy aswell. It's a friggin win-win situation. Women on the other hand, are much more primal creature that act on instinct and short-term well-being. You may score a good life for yourself, but your children, if you get any to begin with, will not only be short and ugly, but spoiled and obnoxious aswell. Its thinking like that, thats destroying this planet. You're alot better off supporting a young, but poor and moderately attractive, aspiring illusionist get his career off the ground. Thats my take on it. Work with me, people.
  3. Painter is the best program for digital painting Ive ever seen, unlike Photoshop and so on it works just like drawing with a real pen(or brush) on real paper(or canvas). You dont have to spend a year just learning how to make the brushes not look fakey-blurry like in PS. You do have a crazy number of different tools/brushes but you can just put the 4-5 you use in the bottom of the screen for easy access. Not free though, its like
  4. Ive tried the full game on the PC with my G25 wheel and my conclusions is that the only thing that keeps it centimeters away from being as good as Forza, is the menu system. Everything else is awesome. I think its the only game where the ****pit view is completely useable and not just something thats obstructing your vision. I dont like the arcade-ish way most races occur though; no qualifying, just starting from the middle and working your way to the top. You're just jealous because they made a game that both looks good, and has real car physics, unlike Dirt
  5. Dem pictursch surw ere purdy tho.
  6. Ive seen Beck the police thingie in its german-dubbed glory and its completely ridicilous. (because you would say boat instead of ship because you're weird)
  7. What DOESNT sound awkward dubbed to german? Its like all "Guten morgen! Ich bin Shepard, der Gespenst. Da dr
  8. Batman: Arkham Asylum and it is amazing. On paper, it shouldnt be this fun, but it is. And it has the most gorgeous enviroments Ive seen in a game, the guys at Rocksteady actually did a better job at U3 enviroments than Epics own artists, and that shouldnt be possible.
  9. Im a pretty pragmatic guy, I might throw my keys in the basket... if she had any money. But she doesnt, so.. I guess these wild oats will remain untamed.
  10. Oh, I most assuredly shall not make any such attempts. I did make such an inquiry of a female person some time ago, whereupon she reacted in a most disagreeable manner. No, I value your input immensly. Im just saying that in order to expand our minds, we must be prepared to look into the implausible.
  11. No, I think she's trying to pull a Maude lebowski on me. p.s Now you guys are using LOF (Literally Or Figureatively) in a way that doesnt make sense at all.
  12. First of all, asking would ruin all the fun and also severely limit the possibilities of starting threads such as this one. Second, asking such a question would score pretty high on the awkward topics scale, right up there with "are you gay for me, or just really into physically displaying friendship?" Obviously, all logic and common sense would point to the most probable conclusion of 'thing women talk about', but its more fun pretending it could be a strange reaching out. Kind of the sort of thing you could base a sitcom episode around.
  13. I was just thinking about this girl I know. She's approaching 30 and the last two or three times this year that we've run into eachother in the pub, she's brought it into the conversation that she wants to settle down and have kids. I dismissed it as casual woman-talk and didnt think much about it until this large cup of coffee I just had. Could this be some form of strange desperate attempt at an invite? Or is it just the biological clock making its way into the speech center in the brain? And if it's the former, how in earth could she think that such a tactic has the slightest chance of working? The average bloke, who isnt actively seeking for a male heir to inherit his crown, wouldnt respond well I imagine. You know, unless he wasnt all grown up and mature and stuff. So, gentlemen and occasional lady, what is your hypothesis regarding the situation at hand?
  14. I think you got it backwards, it started out as cheap entertainment and later evovled into an artform that has everybit as much range of expressions and artistry as anything else. But they dont sell the good stuff at Wall-mart, obviously, so youll have to go looking.
  15. Having "unless you do something with this within X years, we get it back" in a publishing or licensing contract is very common. Bethesda shouldnt have to sue Interplay, they should just have given the rights back
  16. Bloodlines sold tons, well over a million copies if a google search is to be considered reliable. According to what Ive heard: the problem was that Activision witheld payments to Troika because of some other project(unnamed post-apocalyptic rpg) that fell through, and without income Troika had no choice but to shut down operations. Kind of what happened to GRIN, the publisher just refused to pay up, forcing the studio to close as they suddenly had no income to pay wages, rent etc. In GRINs case it was the publisher not approving a perfectly good milestone for a project in order to wiggle out of the contract.
  17. Sounds like an attempt to make the inudstry sem more serious and stable to stuffy old bank people. But one thing he said; the problem with bringing in "packaged goods people" is that games are not toilet paper, or garden tools, or household electronics or recycled aluminium.
  18. I was just saying that Im not trolling this time. I sort of need to do that since Im only ever serious about once a year :D
  19. I wasnt trying to flame, seriously. I respect the team who made it immensly for what they tried to do and what they actually accomplished, but I did not enjoy the game that much. I only finished it because I heard the ending was supposed to be really clever. Some of the areas, like the desert place, I just rushed through as fast as I could because I wanted to see what was going to happen in the end
  20. Planescape Torment has to be one of the most overrated games of all time. It does have a story that is quite unique in games, and there is alot of fun things to discover, but I didnt enjoy it that much. IMO, the combat was really tedious and the enviroments were not varied enough to be interesting. Youd leave the gloomy slums in the city, only to find yourself in a gloomy slum in some other dimension. And thats from a guy who absolutely loves green/brown desaturated broken down dirty post-apocalypse ala gow.
  21. Did Mass Effect have a DRM that screwed with the game?! I played the pirate version on PC because I had already bought it for the 360, but I never noticed anything ( you cant seriously expect people to pay for the same game twice, I say I did the right thing )
  22. You used to be able to use a noDVD crack legally if you owned the game, but its illegal in the US nowadays. So you're more or less screwed.
  23. The people behind Arma2, have said that their system doesnt give the user any notice when triggered, in order to make it harder for the hackers to see if their crack works. All the others who have similar systems were probably thinking the same thing. But I say its absolutely essential to inform the user that the DRM has triggered, or he will probably think the game is bugged and spam the support and/or make angry posts at various forums. It was just that kind of uproar among the players who brought down the whole studio behind Titan Quest. The major problem with these DRMs of course, is that there is no way to ensure that they dont trigger on legal software. Its just as impossible as making a game that never ever crashes regardless of how unstable your OS and hardware is. Its the nature of code and hardware.
  24. Ill bet Eidos wont be laughing when thousands of legal PC users will experience the same deliberate glitch. It happened with Titan Quest, X3, Arma2 and every other game where they use a DRM that cripples the game in some way. While people using a proper cracked release wont experience it at all because it has been removed during the hacking&cracking. ..not to mention all the kids out there with hacked 360's that have played it for weeks without a hitch.
