Silent Storm was a fantastic game until they decided to go and make panzerklein ****. But the "remove panzerkleins" mod was also the first mod released for it, and it worked excellently.

I thought it was friggin' awesome, seriously. I had tons more fun than with GTA4, and the story is good for a videogame. It runs a bit slower than it should on the PC but the 360 version is so fugly its unplayable. Dawg, dis be mah niggahz right here yo!

QTE's are the unfortunate byproduct of trying to please everyone. It happened exactly like this. DESIGNER: "And then theres a cutscene that explains just what the hell is going on" SUIT: "Oh. But we have polls that say players with ADD dont like cutscenes. We have to find something for them to fidget with while watching it." DESIGNER: "A cutscene is a cutscene, and if we remove it the story wont make any sense. Just let them sit and randomly mash the buttons or whatever while they wait if they cant be bothered to skip it" SUIT: "Thats brilliant! We'll have them press buttons during the cutscenes!" DESIGNER: "What?!" SUIT: "Yeah! And not only that, but we'll force them to press them and if thy dont theyll die! Like in those old laserdisc games where you had to press left or right not to die and have to start over!" DESIGNER: "Thats friggin retarded." SUIT: "Dragons Lair sold like a gazillion copies. We're doing it." DESIGNER: "DA didnt sell gazillions because it.." SUIT: "I dont pay you to make bussiness decisions, just do it or Ill find someone else who will."

We can stop improving the hardware when it can do anything and everything we can think of, and not before then.

Im more of a CG animation fellow, but to get a more fluid jerkiness, you can just speed up some sequences while slowing others down. Pinching the timeline in places. You'll probably have to shoot the scene at higher frame rate to get more material to work with aswell. If you time-stretch 24fps film it'll look like crap. Like in even high-budget hollywood films where they have like half a second of footage and they need to fill 1.5sec so they stretch it out and it looks awful.

But really, crippling the player by deliberatly fudging the controls in order to make him more 'vulnerable' or whatever is just plain flunking game design 101. No matter how you might argue, there are always better options that dont run the risk of frustrating players.

Well, people who cose to play the console versions of Batman Arkham Asylum really missed out. In full blast 1920x1200 its so mind-bogglingly gorgeous that its hard to believe its real. The console versions have horribly low-res textures and render at 720p. It still looks good, but not OMFGZ!!! good like the PC version.

I would like to nominate Damnation as one of this years definitive stinkers. But despite being horribly broken and unfinished, it was still sort of fun to mess around with in multiplayer.. for short periods of time.

I hear you're absolutely not to support your legs when doing situps, because that will excercise the legs and not the abdomen.

Do they have built-in hardware physics acceleration like nvidia? I used to think that was rubbish, but Ive actually found it quite useful.

Your logic is flawed. If you take a bowl of icecream and a mix it with motor oil, the result will not be a neutral but largely edible composite, it will be a toxic abomination.

Better be a 720p TV, cause console games look like **** scaled up to 1080p. I use my 360 with my 1920x1200 monitor and its just a big smudgy with varying degrees of grain. GTA4 looks so ugly that its almost unplayable.

There is http://www.rfactorcentral.com/ which is sort of open-source in that all content is use-created. But it actually uses an older version of Simbins technology, so its not as advanced. It does have some amazing stuff though, like the RealFeel FFB plugin which actually gives you real FFB calculated from the forces acting on the steering rack, so you can feel EXACTLY and with great precision what the car is up to. Its really scary when you take too much curb in an F1 car so one wheel bounces up into the air, you can literally feel the car going on three wheels... right before you crash horribly.

For you who want to try REAL racing, you should check out http://www.simbin.se/games/race_on.htm Its the most advanced publicly available racing simulator in the world, you could only go more hardcore if you went to McLaren F1 and asked to try their proprietary racing simulator.

I did try it again with a 360 gamepad on the PC and it was most decidedly bleh. Forza, PGR and even Race07 can be alot of fun to play with a gamepad but this wasnt very nice. The controls felt very sluggish and there wasnt enough vibration to give me any hint of was going on with the car except if I hit a curb or gravel. I can understand a lot of the more negative reviews now, but it does become a completely different game with a proper wheel. But this is the best non-sim driving game on the PC, no doubt about it. I wish MS would release Forza3 for windows so we could play it high-res with a proper wheel, the 360 wheel just doesnt cut it.

Well, did you play it with a wheel and in that case, what wheel? Driving with joypad with helpers on is a completely different experience than a top notch wheel at full difficulty. Its not a thoroughbred simracer, but its not arcadey like GRID or PGR. The driving, in my opinion, is exactly like Forza, GT or old TOCA except it feels better because I have a G25 wheel to run it with. Sounds like someone has been driving the Ford GT with the default setup You lose out on a lot of input when using a joypad, when a car is about to lose traction and lift off the ground, you can feel it wobble in the wheel, but with a pad it looks like everything is fine until you suddenly shoot off the road. When it comes to arcade driving, I like it more when its really not even trying to be realistic like GTA4 or Saints Row :D

Yeah, but if your digital work looks digital, you're doing it wrong. You want people to look at the painting, not the tech that created it. And art supplies are anything but cheap, especially not canvases. One fun thing about digital painting is that you stop being afraid to ruin that expensive

First of all, it's sick and wrong. Second, its not attraction if its by conscious choice, you cant just go "Im going to go and be attracted by this guy over here". If that worked, people could marry lamp poles or dustbins. Third, if its a conscious choice, then its probably some sort of malevolent and dishonest scheme on part of the woman, in order to get something they dont rightfully deserve. Which is basicly fraud. Its just like when you pick up a hot prostitute that turns out to be a man, its just deceitful and mean behaviour. Id like to see Donald Trump guide his tribe through the Gobi desert and wrestle lions with his bare hands, I think he'd do just swell...
