What music are you listening to right now?
Kaftan Barlast replied to draakh_kimera's topic in Way Off-Topic
I love it, I have all their records(and demos), even though they're silly at times and the later ones are a bit too melodic. Back when I was a real black/deathmetal fan they were my fav band. But they really have that brutal raw edge to them when they want to, especially on "Pure Holocaust" and "Battles in the north" -

"Where Dead Angels Lie" isnt even blackmetal, its more powermetal than anything. I havent listened much to Impaled but real blackmetal to me would be almost anything by Darkthrone, just pure and raw, nothing fancy. -
Aye, laddie. Now go check out my signature thread.

Ladies and Gentlemen! As you may or not be aware of, I come from a strong forum tradition of graphical comedy. Of these graphics a most cherished factor was the graphic signature, and it is to honor that tradition that I invinte you to this thread where we all may show off our respective talents at manufacturing and displaying these symbols of power and celebrations of wit. Perhaps this shall lead to the forming of a similar tradition upon these very forums but until then I bid you all a good thread! Let the photoshopping begin! with this particular piece I really wanted to achieve the maximum shock factor by crossing different expressions of culture from all over the world in a horrendous composition of exuberant distaste and just pure unskilled photoshopping .

Ive never heard Fugazi. Ever. Genesis - Can(from "Foxtrot" 1972) p.s Dissection is gay. They were supposed to the 2nd most evil band in Sweden(after Dark FUneral) but their music is just.. pansy -
I see it now. Very Kurt Russel. Personally, Im working on getting a graphic sig, all my old ones involve nazi's and monkeys.

Do you multiclass your characters in p&p sessions?
Kaftan Barlast replied to ramza's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
I dont play any games that have classes or careers, they're too restrictive. -
Its just that its been done to death. And most of it is complete rubbish, I tried reading a few of the "good ones" but I felt I could get more out of those Harleqin novels you an buy for a euro a piece at the supermarket.

Volourn's Jade Empire Early Review
Kaftan Barlast replied to Volourn's topic in Computer and Console
Hey, I just thought up something. If I buy both an Xbox and JE, I can play it for a week before returning them and getting my money back. " "Oh, the game was totally bugged. Unplayable. And to be shure it doesnt happen again, Im returning the Xbox too." -

KOTOR 3- Please don't use the KOTOR ENGINE
Kaftan Barlast replied to Melchior's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Obsidian is not going to be making any more KoTOR games so why post this thread here? You mgiht aswell write a letter complaining to santa claus. In fact, chances are there wont be K3 at all. Oh, and the engine sucks. It was bad from the start, too laggy. -
Volourn's Jade Empire Early Review
Kaftan Barlast replied to Volourn's topic in Computer and Console
It might be the *** holy grail of games but I wouldnt know, cause I dont play *** console *** -
I assume that by fantasy the author of this topic meant "orcs and elves and sh*t in a pseuo-medieval setting"
-
I borrowed "The color of magic" from a friend to read on the train and I didnt get the point. It was apparent that the author tried to be funny, but wasnt. Its was also increadibly untight in the pacing. ...and I hate pulp-fantasy

Im all for a little change from the ordinary, it's just that its not everyday you see someone homosexually analraped to death in a comic :D (unless you're in japan of course) -
Was the Manga called "Naruto"? I found some comics about some boy in a village with ninjahs but didnt see any Kancho-ing.

He is. Having long hair is great, all the girls want to braid and mess around with it all the time. You can also stand in the wind and imitate a schampoo commercial. And it adds an air of authenticity when you are playing a musical instrument.

No. You are describing fascism, nazism, and their exaltation, corruption and exploitation of the patriotic feeling. It's sad to see people confuse those so far after the fall of those ideologies. No, Im describing something that is quite real and in existence. Its no longer called "propaganda" because of the negative associations we have with that word. Today its called public relations, political advertising, medial strategies, information flow control, projected discourse and a million other names, but its still the same basic thing- the process of influencing the general population into do, believe and think what you want them to. Patriotism is an effective tool of control. By manufacturing a strong feeling of "us and them" you gain a multitude of ways to manipulate the public. One way is labelling your actions as "patriotic"(we're invading this foreign country to protect YOU) and see to it that any critiscism is dismissed as "unpatriotic"(if youre against US, then obviosly you are for THEM and a traitor to US) and so on. Feeling that "hey, this country is a pretty nice place to live in" like is very far from Patriotism. Why, WHY? :'( <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because then it would escalate into one of those arguments where Taks and I take turns to trade 2000 word posts about the definition of realword capitalism, and that wouldnt be good for my cold-fueled headache.
-
Patriotism is a product of longterm propaganda aimed at making the general population(supposedly for their own good, because they cant be trusted to make the necessary decisions) more loyal towards whoever happens to run the country, wether its goverment or bussiness corporations. That type of propaganda was common worldwide until the end of WW2. edit: I removed the major part because it was out of context and a surefire flamestarter.

It gets really confusing when you have four guys talking, every one of them using the Nihilus avatar.

I feel his pain. I have a friend who likes do perform both varieties of molestation when he's drunk. Crime in progress.
