Yeah most of which are crap. The only one I'd say I've missed in Civ. What PC games have you bought recently ? There is far more crap on the PC than on any console because there are no quality standards for PC software. No thats the developers problem for being inept. It's not my job to make up for their ineptness. I dont buy a car with flat tires and expect some smart arse to tell me to inflate them myself.

Doubt it no one is going to stand for people being stoned and mained it's not the middle ages anymore. It's probably in contravention of European law as well come to think of it.

Two big ones I can think of. 1. Lack of games 2. Lack of willingness to patch every bloody game you buy Being upgradable is a two edged sword. I know when I buy a console I'm getting 100% out of every game for the lifespan. Your probably looking at at least two graphic card upgrades with a PC over 5 years each of which will probably cost you the same as an entire console would.

Scroll wheels have been around for ages. I know I had a tracker with a scroll wheel prior to the Xbox even being released. I'd guess he was refering to using the scroll wheel to switch weapons up and down or something.

I think Malaks immune, at least I could never get one to stick. Kind of funny (actually didnt occur to me till ealier) that Vader would die if you shot him with an Ion beam. I guess thats why he always waited till the stormtroopers had cleaned up before starting any interigations (like in EP IV).

Nah they are pissed off because they think we should actually follow their "laws" Thats why I'd like to see the whole religion thing gone. Want to worship at home feel free but if a society is going to be on an equal footing then it has to be in a way that people can see and quantify. Not at the behest of what may well turn out to be nothing more substantial than an imaginery friend.

No end game boss is going to beat the one in Skies of Arcadia. A four hour epic battle through 4 different stages. My hands were shaking at the end.

Troika games had serious bugs and lots of them. One of my favourite sayings "More bugs in a Troika game than in a rotting log". It's not like the games were not well publisiced either. Arcanum got huge publicity. GAME did a mail shot for TOEE. It's a kind of three strikes and your out thing. Arcanum buggy , TOEE very buggy Vampire buggy (even though it wasnt so bad). By the time Vampire rolled around everyone was very aware of Troikas reputation for bugginess. Even though Vampire was rather good (buggy as well though) it was at fire sale prices within a week or two.

Aside from MMPORGs I've never done that. Most MP is saturday afternoon FIFA stuff or just the family playing something.

I think Quake was my first exposure to LAN gaming. Huge hassle though sticking everything in the car all the time. I'm not attached to my machines. I'd be upset if one broke but if there was a replacement on hand I wouldnt be. It really depends what you are used to I was a long time PC gamer before switching and it took me a while to relearn everything for years I couldnt even touch a console FPS because mouse/aswd was so ingrained in me. It's so much more fun playing with people in the living room than some faceless people online though. Especially in competative games. Nintendo's WI FI was fun with Mario Kart although too many people quit races which is a problem with online gaming across the board. At least you dont have to listen to people whine though which is plus. Actually I'd save money being a PC gamer because there have been like 5 games released I actually want in the last couple of years and thats it.

Maybe it's different in Canada but in PC world here there are lots of signs with FREE Windows XXX and a bunch of other stuff like office etc. Sure it gets paid for somewhere but to the consumer if they think they are getting the hardware plus some free software they are all the happier.

Look the consoles are countering each other. Thats why the prices drop when a new console comes along and not when a new video card of PC chip is released. The PC isnt some sort of last bastion of price protection

Here At which point I explained why the PC dosnt matter even though you continue to think it's somehow important to how the consoles companies are thinking... No thats a rumour of the PS3 production cost and it's based on a read/write blu ray which the PS3 dosnt need to have since you dont save games to blu ray and the PS3 isnt intended as a blu ray recorder only a blu ray player although $800 for a blu ray recorder is a bargain even if you never played a game on it. So what the console manufacturers are smart. I really dont care that you think its unfair because you think it's killing the PC. The PC has done more than enough to kill itself with the low quality crap and patch it later attitude. As the consumer why wouldnt I ? Guess what there are considerably more people who can afford to spend $300 than $1500. Because the profits are coming from the games even if your the only manufacturer its still in your best interest to keep the prices affordable. It's pointless having a product if no one can afford it. I doubt prices would go up that much. What would change is that prices would not drop since those price drops are competition driven.

No because there are three of them and they are competing the PC has nothing to do with it. Thats pretty clear since even at $500 they are still not in a comparable price bracket to a PC that is capable of the same level of gameplay which is at least twice that. Theres nothing big or bad about a $500 PC It's things like that that make you very difficult to take seriously. Ok so the PC is a bigger threat to MS than SONY No it's for getting consumers who would have gone with another console a high end PC is totally out of their price range if they cant afford $500. So again PC totally irrelevent it's about the other consoles and their price points. Your not getting it are you. If they did drastically increase the prices they would at the same time drastically cut the consumer base. The handy thing about a PC is it does more than just play games. A consoles sole purpose is to play games most parents I know wouldnt pay

Let me put it really simply. No one owns a low end PC because they want to. Given the option everyone would love an uber rig. Because the PC dosnt make money from games sold there are no other considerations. If on the other hand you made your console 1000 if a person couldnt afford it then they could no longer buy for it and hence not make you any money. Because even if the hardware sold at a profit the lions share is still going to come from the games.

I wouldnt go that far. But a reputation for being difficult with your publisher certainly can unless you have some titles behind you.
