I wouldnt say that. The story is really involved. The whole good samaritan and having all those ???? skills bothered me though. And I had to resist the urge to shout pull before popping someone in the air and filling them full of arrows. It just reminded me so much of shooting clay pigeons :"> Having the monsters on the screen definately killed some of the tension for me. Although some people prefer it that way. It didnt have an ending as such because there is supposed to be a part III (which I think has been canceled). Despite what people said about it all being cutscenes I got a good 25-30 hours of gameplay in addition to the scenes and thats a lot more than you would total if you skipped the dialogue in KOTOR and more than Jade Empire period.

Most mods are naff. Speaking for myself I'll have moved on long before anyone brings out a mod anyway. If you dont need patches and fixes in the first place , thats a bit of a non issue. Unless your glad that PC games are buggy so you can download patches and fixes as some sort of etertainment? I've had so much fun since becoming a primarly console gamer as well as dramatically expanded the sorts of games I play (because of rentals). Dont see me going back to the PC any time soon if ever. If it wasnt for email , conferencing and all that stuff I wouldnt even need one. Zelda has horses anyway Wonder which will come first Zelda or NwNII. Guess Zelda is being held back by the Revolution version (didnt hear that here ok..).

K1 had that doozy of a gamestopper on the Leviathan prison level. But seriously there is no comparison between PC bugs and console bugs. Console games are far less buggy with the odd exception. One of the reasons I gave up on PC gaming was I got fed up of having to patch things. Its a safe bet that NwN II is going to be buggy you just have to hope that the bugs are the trivial kind. The defence not having a function in FFVI is about the most serious bug I can think of (for a purely console game). Made magic defence overly useful (since all defence was calculated from it) but it didnt spoil the game even if you did go 128% magic block.

I cant think of any of the Sony consoles (or the PSP) that hasnt sold at a loss. Took 2 years for the PS2 to become profitable overall if I'm recalling correctly.

Never much good vs bosses. Had a pretty easy time otherwise though. Bosses would just smash through the summons. Not a huge problem on normal, but nightmare was just that.

As I recall the Paladin smashed him pretty quick. Necromancer was the one that really gave me problems. It kind of got spoiled for solo play too after some of the later patches.

Not all in one go Diablo II used to be my filler game which I played between releases.

I played through with each of them at least to nightmare. Only went to hell level with a Paladin though. Mostly played Amazon,Druid and Assasin on Bnet.

So do I. What I was saying is that you cant accuse Europe of double standards (on this issue) because in this case a law was broken. It should get overturned on appeal guess the judge had a personal beef with him or something. People should always be free to challenge history as long as they bring evidence to the table (thats just my opinion of course) many historical "facts" later prove to be false. Judges should not be political. But thats going to happen when judges are political appointees.

My PC cost 2000 I think my PS2 was way better value. I'd still think that if they cost the same though. Unltimately the cost of the unit is bugger all compared to how much your going to spend on the games.

It's not just graphics although they are obviously improved. The PS3 should easily do graphics comparable to the FFX FMV sequences although the FMV sequences will be equally improved too. Rather FFIX came on 4 discs, and had no speech. FFX came on a single DVD and had 99% speech. This made the transition between FFIX and X mindblowing So I guess what I'm saying in a rambling sort of way is there needs to be more to a next gen machine than just prettier graphics. And it needs to be game oriented, because I really dont care if the PS3 can make toast and coffee as you play

There is a list in the article. Not that I disagree , but the law is the law until it's changed. It's not really a double standard because there is no law saying you cant draw Mohamad. But there is a law that says you can't deny the halocaust (in those listed countries). Given his apparent contrition 3 years is ridiculous even if you took the law seriously.

I suppose the difference there is he broke some actual laws. Bit on the harsh side though. If you live in Europe then you obey the laws of Europe. If you want to live under some Islamic law, go do it in an Islamic country. The very fact that they were allowed to protest in such an aggressive manner speaks highly of Europes freedom of speech. I'd have just deported the lot of them.

Could be counterproductive though. Although I dont think they have any worries in Japan the Game Cube is outselling the 360 over there. What I'm looking for is the sort of generation gap that occurs between FFIX and FFX but I dont think I'm going to find that on any machine.

I wouldnt say that was the case with RPGs though. I've just run through the entire FF series and the first one is incredibly basic mechanics wise. Which would tend to debunk the myth that console RPGs are being dumbed down. Although the inclusion of the shrines has probably made the game easier overall not having any save points to use tents at adds difficulty.
