  1. While you can do more with the exile character, not really bothered either. It's much better to use NPC's from the previous games as NPCs rather than trying to use a PC of non determined identity.
  2. Darth Motherinlaw..
  3. The face isnt the problem. The problem is the voice and the story. Basically we have two characters who are no longer playable. Revan now has a memory and thus dosnt need playing (as well as being too high a level) and the Exile, is even more powerful although still ours. But still dosnt make for a good game for people not familiar with KOTORII. If it's a next gen game which seems likely at this stage, you cant assume that people buying it will have played the rest of the series. Making them NPCs is a big workload since you have no definate identity. In effect you have to make four of everything for both of them. And have at least two voices. I'd certainly enjoy killing off Revan since his/her existence is holding the series back and it needs to grow rather than to focus.
  4. Atari is long gone. Atari II is looking shaky so I sold my shares a little while ago before the price drop and bought more in the Evil Alliance. I expect Atari II are relying on NwN II to bail them out because other than that, not much of anything exiting in the public domain right now.
  5. No idea :D but Atari shares took a tumble because of it.
  6. Probably a bit of an exageration but equally very few Xbox exclusives were worth owning the machine for either. Yes the Xbox had a technical edge which made owning cross platform titles on it slightly more disirable, however thats no longer the case the PS3 overshadows the 360 completely when it comes to raw technology.
  7. Dont know if anyone is interested but Atari's CEO quit and the guy who used to be the CEO before him has resumed the position.
  8. of course it's easier to work out that chemicals are harmful, which was rather the point of using that particular example. If it took 60+ years to work that out to the point where it was taken seriously how long do you think it will take for something less obvious like the effect of gaming on the human psyche. Well if you want to be socially irresponsible thats your perogative. Things are not banned for fun, they are banned for a reason.
  9. Is the world still full of Leets ? Made me laugh the first time I saw those.
  10. Why dont you check out Ebay and find out.
  11. This reminds me so much of Suikoden III.
  12. Not really, because I fully expect you would need four stories to keep people from whinging about "well Revan was XXXX" . This is a first hand look at why you dont make an NPC playable and why you dont continue the story. Really puts into perspective why there was no PST II.
  13. I say good riddence to Revan. As a PC there is nowhere else for the character to go and as an NPC he/she/it is more troubles than it's worth.
  14. Or you could just not make them in the first place. I still havnt heard anything compelling on why games should go into such graphic depictions. While that is certainly true it's taken 50+ years to reach these conclusions and "passive smoking" is something that has only recently come to light (in research terms which tend to make a snail look speedy). Still no reason not to plaster a very large warning label across the front of it. It's also something that is constantly under review and measures are always being taken. There is no reason that games should not be treated in the same way. It's much more sensible to stop the problem before it starts than try to correct it only when it's reached endemic levels.
  15. Thanks, just making sure it wasnt today. I'd prefer to be a 51st state than part of Europe, at least I wouldnt have to wait six months to get my games localised :D Probably be 17th here anyway. We do friday to friday when it comes to games and movies.
  16. Thing is it's not two stories, it's actually four. Gender would also play a big role on how the character was written. Putting aside for the moment the difficulty in writing a cohesive plot when you have so many lose ends. For each option , you reduce the overall length of the game because of the time/money required. When you add another character into the mix, well then it just gets silly.
  17. It's important to identify the "at risk" population. At the moment since no one knows that games are "harmful" then legislation must suffice. Kind of reminds me of tobaco advertising. At one time it was cool and no one thought anything of it. Now you have those big warning emblazoned across the packets. MMPORGs really should carry a similiar warning , they are dangerous. But because they are also new, its going to take a while for the research to catch up. Problem with games as opposed to RPGs. In RPGs the exposure time is far longer. A violent RPG would be like sitting through 20 slasher flicks and knowing some peoples gaming habbits, it wouldnt be spread out over weeks either. Rockstars latest Bully is an example of a game that you have to be concered about. While it could under supervision prove useful, it could also be the catalyst for some really nasty repercutions. Given the spate of suicides related to Bullying recently, not expecting to see the game over here. However it's also Rockstars marketing strategy to capitalise on the negative press.
  18. It says level 15 and 75% or more towards either extreme
  19. But if "Winter" was meant to include Febuary or March, then the trailer would have been announcing a release date of "February or March 2004", a date 5 to 6 months prior to the release of the trailer, which makes absolutely no sense. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Following the amazing reception it got at E3 (may) they decided to push for a holiday release. I'll tell you something interesting, at least in the UK the game went back into the charts for a bit following EP III's release although EPIII is still up on top (along with lego SW).
  20. Yes it would be better if buffs just drained your force points while active.
  21. Makes you wonder if Liam pulled an Sir Alec and asked to be killed off... Dooku in his EPII incarnation was much better than Maul. While Parks is heck of a stunt man and fighter, he's not in CL's league. Not sure what happened to poor Dooku in EP III, possibly linked to CL's health problems.
  22. It's a great theory that falls appart when you add people. The problem is that the MMPORG culture has now become something unchanging regarless of which game it happens to be.
  23. Int and con are the two score you want to have pretty high. Everything else can be modified.
  24. 'fraid it does. minimum is one skill point, which is why you see a lot of really dumb guardians. Nothing to lose, well except for skill modifiers.
