  1. Dude your like old :D Gaming OS wouldnt work on a PC. You still have too many variations, where as a console is a standard unit with everything written around that standard. You could probably streamline it a bit, but if your going to remove the extra function most people are going to go for a
  2. Thats really upto the mods. Since there are no rules requiring factual accuracy in posts don't think you can ban people just for talking crap. Although her response to Darque was bordering on the edge I think.
  3. We believe you are wrong.
  4. The world needs Nintendo Their new controller is kind of weird. It's pretty non intuative to someone familiar with a control pad. Anyone who can use a TV remote should be fine with it though. It's pretty good for parental units because it dosnt intimidate (since it's familiar). The revolution is probably the only system where you will see real innvoation. The PS3 may give more content and longer games thanks to the media. The 360 will do Xbox only prettier, but none of them are really placed to innovate in the way that games created for the revolution could.
  5. Not without being wrong you can't. My support for the PS3 is based around what it does, not who makes it.
  6. What was the report about ?
  7. I dislike paying for things twice.
  8. What interview would that be? I was checking up on this the other day myself and I was getting conflicting projections. Free kick to the genitals versus Twenty dollar Jaguar <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If I can track it down I'll post it. However since the PS2 wasnt network compatible as standard and factoring in the number of these http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/produc...network_adaptor things sold it's pretty clear.
  9. 100% thats why I mentioned Allard. Read it in a recent interview where he was lamenting that not enough people in Europe are playing on live. He also reckons that 50% of people who buy a 360 will play on live long term.
  10. Yep there is a lot of grey there. I expect a big series of complaints when people finally try out what Xbox work. My thoughts exactly, they have a cut a heck of a lot of corners to be first out. If it were not an MS product then I would agree Kumquat, the Xbox only survived because MS threw a lot of money at it. If the 360 dosnt make any money, then I can see MS moving on to pastures new after this. Even things like live which it loves to say is a success. Well there are more people playing PS2 games online and Sony isnt charging extra for it. Even Allard will tell you this, it's one of his least favourite interview questions. The PS2 is also acknowledged as a pain to develop for, but like the Sony rep said, it didnt stop them having a shedload of games. If anything the PS3 is easier than the PS2 to get to grips with. As for the revolution. Not really sure, some people are too impressed by pretty pictures these days. However since Nintendo are repsonsible for things like the dual analogue and rumble features we take for granted I wouldnt write them off just yet.
  11. Buy it and play it, but only if you have a certain degree of patience. There is enough game there to keep you going after the wow factor wears off, oh and if you dont like death drops, this ones probably not for you. In case the review is a bit crap, you basically have to stop a series of creatures. These creatures are huge, so huge in fact that even when your inside of them looking for the weak points they are still huge. So huge that you can ride your horse up alongside and then jump off clinging to a creature before pulling yourself up and starting the exorable trek to the top ("killing" varrious stress points along the way) and finally toppling the thing. Dont really know much about the story beyond the big creatures have woken up and are rampaging stuff. Probably the pretiest game currently on the PS2 as well if that sort of thing gets you going. I dont think it has the same charm and endearing qualities of Ico, but it's a better game with regards to gameplay.
  12. Not a fan then Darque ? You do have to have a pretty weird definition of what groundbreaking is to see the 360 as it I guess. If anything it's less groundbreaking than the Xbox which introduced the concept of a harddrive to a console as a standard feature. Shame they backpeddled so much this time around.
  13. Actually I said 20% if I recall. But it really depends on the survey after I said 20% I got pointed to several which came in around 2.5%. Theres also no sample size which makes it immediately suspect. I can tell you quite catagorically that the magazine does not represent 100% of Japanese gamers (only a fool would believe that anyway).
  14. Sony is running an intergrated strategy. Since the PS2 pretty much kickstarted the DvD revolution it's not unreasonable to expect the PS3 to do the same with Blu Ray. Especially as you now have 6 of the 7 big players behind Blu Ray and the last one wavering (or already crossed over since this info is about a week old). There is a lot of desperation on the MS side of things. I'm sure you can detect it if you compare what they are saying to how the development of the unit progressed. But Sony are sticking pretty much to their gameplan at the moment. The 360 will get a lot of early thunder , but it has to be sustainable. The PS2 figures prior to the Xbox for example are a fraction of those following it's launch. The best thing to do if your not an impatient sort is to hold of till both are on the market, then you win either way.
  15. Sony do have pretty high standards.
  16. Thats going to be a short game
  17. I'm all with you on these three, although I would prefer Syndicate over Syndicate Wars. The building of your company is more interesting than religious zealots to me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Xcom/Syndicate sort of gameplay hasnt been tapped for ages. Outside of the Japanese PS2 games (ring of red, robot commander etc) and the GC/GBA not a huge ammount has been done on the strategy gaming front recently outside of RTS. Both Syndicate and Xcom should get a make over, if only because they blend two different types of gameplay together very well.
  18. There is something strange about seeing Vandal Hearts
  19. Graphics are fleeting. Gameplay is timeless
  20. Who says this place isnt educational. Cant say I ever saw Dynasty Warriors Dynasty Warriors II was the one I started with.
  21. I sense much fear and much desperation. I also sense a lack of confidence in the 360's overall market share.
  22. For a 900 year old dead guy he sure gets a lot of action :D
  23. The mistake is that you run out of units in territories that want them and you have them on shelves in territories that dont. Security is also a bit of an issue.. The other problem is that a lot of launch titles are just not ready and the rush to get them ready is going to lead to mistakes. Dont see the big deal about a world wide release. Sure if your impatient you get things faster, but by having to wait you have a much wider selection of software to choose from , most of which has already passed inspection in other countries.
