  1. Possibly, however the PS3 has to read three generations of disks anyway. I don't have any problems with it not reading certain disk types (as long as it reads the original content of course). The idea of somehow having to reregister a cupboard full of games on swapping the PS3 (I'm on my second PS2 , traded the old one in for the sleek version) leaves me about as cold as a HD blowing up and having to download the whole lot again. The other factor being that as a household we own 3 PS2's while we commonly get multiple copies of games so we avoid distirbing domestic tranquility, often we will play each others games which is something that we wouldnt be able to do if the worst case scenerio happened. So while I still have a certain sympathy with regards to resale and rental , there are enough other factors to make it unworkable I think.

  3. When taking into accont the span of human history and all the religions that have existed over that period. There is no reason whstsoever to buy into any modern religion since they are little more than new inventoins on an old theme. Personally i wouldnt follow the christian god I just have respect for it and consider it a failed deity who would if it exsted in a job market be replaced. Same goes for all the other so called omnipitants entities too. So if you do want to follow a god , then just create your own it's what humans have been doing from the begining. PS if thats less legiable than usual it was typed one handed with my off hand while taking a nintendog for a walk.
  4. Funny they already released one on the GBA (the GBA version of Third Age in fact) . This dosnt make much sense. While The Lord of the Rings: Tactics, may be the first handheld, tactical role-playing game (RPG) to be set in Middle-earth, it's not the first Tactics game of its kind. Tactical RPGs have been around since the early '90s and have enjoyed a high level of success in Japan. It was basically a rip off of Fireemblem maybe this is the second attempt.
  5. Fire Emblem Path of Radiance on the GC. Lost in Blue should arrive tommorow so I'll be playing that too.
  6. Don't see it as likely from the quote. It dosnt actually damage anything by it's installation , only when you try to remove it improperly and you can do the same sort of damage or worse by fooling around with the windows registry.
  7. How does that saying go ? "proof denies faith and without faith I am nothing"
  8. How old is the planet ? How long has mankind existed ? How long has christianity been around ? I rest my case.
  9. Thats why I insist everything be prefixed with something like possibly, alledgedly etc. I see no reason to accept it as fact just on hearsay. I also dont see why people should be allowed to preach it as fact.
  10. There is no evidence that it comes from god anyway. "faith is the faith of the lunatic"
  11. Pika Pikaaa chu My old one was reminding me of just how distant the release of FFXII was, had to go.
  12. I think all biblical references of that nature should be prefixed with allegedly. Or might have.
  13. Since no one is going around "trying to make the world a better place" in Socrates name, not really that important is it. In the case of science , it dosnt matter if the person existed or not since you can repeat the relevent experients anyway. Newton could be fiction, but an apple would still fall on your head if you sat under a tree at the right time. On the other hand , remove the divine from the bible and it will collapse like a cheap house of cards.
  14. I'll concede the field to you and your vampire moogle. Looking the moogle just kept reminding me how many days it is till FFXII's release. So pikka pikka :D
  15. I think you mean true satanism recognises the existence of satan.
  16. Maybe religion should be declared a mental illness.
  17. Never a smart idea to let a work of fiction rule your life.
  18. You know the funniest thing about that Brazil picture is they are still watching the game.
  19. Just me I'm not preaching or anything. I do hope that bringing old games which may never have previously been released outside of Japan will continue. Funny I had this conversation with my wifes brother a couple of years ago. Final Fantasy is a good start . Had the reissue of Shining Force (still got the original mega drive version in the attic of many things) etc.
  20. By the broad definition members of the armed forces are routinely tortured. I think they call it training.
  21. I'd be suprised if there wasnt a queu half way around the block.
  22. There is nothing to indicate that this sort of thing is widespread so believing them to be isolated incidents isnt naive. Actually the one of pictures in the UK tabloids turned out to be fake too. Yes they should be thankful they are not being tortured by the old regime. But like I said there are many definitions of torture. Sleep deprevation is classed as a form of torture for example. But it's not quite in the same league as a car battery to the nuts. Your going to find bad commanders too, thats inevitable. However the idea that the president gets his jollies ordering that sort of stuff dosnt make sense.
  23. Find out the flight number, identity of the co conspiritors etc. It's not the same thing. If you broke the person you would be able to prevent the operation (even if it meant shooting down the hijacked plane). You couldnt torture someone just in the hopes you found something out though. Only regimes like the one Saddam was in charge of routinely do that . Personally I have a real problem with making anything suffer. So even if those were the stakes I probably couldnt do it. Wouldnt have a problem shooting them though as long as it was legal and justified.
  24. I could never emulate something I didnt own.
  25. I love the job system.
