  1. Heh, I bought the $50 package, then added +20 for the expansion, and then +25 for the beta pass. Very happy with my purchase.
  2. They are sure to get back any money they spend when it comes time to actually sell the finished game. Sure a lot of people who would buy such a game have already done so through kickstarter, but I believe that this kickstarter publicity has had the added effect (besides 4 million dollars) that a lot of people who might not have take such a game seriously, will give it a shot when the game is finished and ready to be sold to the public. So sure, I could imagine the possibility that Obsidian goes over budget with PE and has to dip into their own pockets to get the game finished and sold, but I'm not worried, I think they will make it all back and then some. edit: Then again, if it seriously flops this could break the company. (knock on wood)
  3. I hope there is sophisticated romance. Specifically: Enter a relationship with one character, but then fall in love with another and start an florid and secret love affair. Inevitably the other character will discover the affair which will result in a messy break up, and them taking half my gold.
  4. I just hope that it is more or less consistent. I think nothing would bother me more than seeing a lot of effort go into recreating a certain time period only to have it shattered by a certain type or style that was just 100% out of place. Pick one period, I don't care which, define exactly what is permitted, and then stick with it. I'm pretty sure this is what they are going to do anyway.
  5. No, I don't think it should be race specific, but rather, we should have class specific intro quests. If you are a Wizard you should start the game differently, in a different setting and a different area, than if you are a Barbarian.
  6. This would be absolutely amazing. But oh, the heartbreak. Worth the risk!
  7. I would just like to add my 2 cents here: I am really looking forward to modding. edit: +1 for Lua
  8. Hello, my first post, yay! I marked down "don't care" but I would also like to add an explanation. I haven't read through the thread so if this has been mentioned already to death then please excuse me. The problem with gaining "quest only xp" verses "quest+killing xp" is that it is really reaaaaally hard to balance "quest only xp" with enough quests that are unique and engaging and not just a dozen iterations of "gather 20 coconuts". Questing for XP can become just as much of a grind as Killing for XP. A dozen iterations of "Kill 20 pigs" vs a dozen iterations of "Gather 20 coconuts" can both amount to the same poor player experience. Ideally I would like to see something where only a certain percentage of each levels XP can be gained through killing, maybe 20% and the rest has to be gained through questing. Basically, in my ideal world, the player would have two options (a) Get 100% of their XP through quests, or, (b) Get a maximum of 20% of their XP through killing, and the rest through quests. This is an action game, there needs to be fighting, but it is my opinion that a person who just grinds a single fight over and over to fill up an XP bar is probably missing the point of the game, but then again ...hey, its only a game, if that is the behavior they paid to play then that is their loss. I just don't want to be forced to follow their example, or else feel that I am somehow lagging behind the optimized way to play. Cheers, A.C.
