Pretty disappointed, this launches in December?
Marceror replied to khermann's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Hey, I resent that! I mean, I'm not that old! I concede you could be both young and small. Also, my use of "queen" is not intended to disparage or imply membership in any particular gender -- either biological or self-identified. Well, I'm older than I wish I was. A touch bigger than I probably ought to be. My wife will tell you that I'm not queen, and she would know better than anyone. So that just leaves one other item potentially in dispute. And I guess I can't deny that I sometimes have a flare for the dramatic, though I would contend that a lot of the people who have directed their rage at me have been far more dramatic in their responses than I was in my initial statement. Conclusion: dramatic, but not any more so than pleeeenty of other posters around here. -
Repairing gear was part of the original plan for PoE. Fans lashed out against it, and the idea was killed by OE.

Sorry, khermann. Your thread was going so well until I stopped in. -

Hey there khermann, my thoughts are not dissimilar to yours. What I really find interesting though is the reactions this thread has gotten over 3 pages and change. I created a very similar thread shortly after the beta was released, and was pretty much raked over the coals for it. I was called the "biggest drama queen on the forum" by one thoughtful poster, and it was insinuated by several others that my intelligence was... lacking. So here you are, making a very similar assertion. And while not everyone agrees with you, plenty do, and no one really seems to be openly challenging you much less insulting you. So I'm wondering if your forum name and avatar (Jesus with a big ole gun) are somehow my favorable than mine, or if I simply made the mistake of calling these concerns out before everyone's optimism-meters had had a chance to catch up with reality? This is more of a rhetorical question, really. Don't mind me or my ruminations. -
Game is supposed to be beyond alpha, hence the backer "beta".
-
What are we calling the "main theme" at this point? The one that plays during chargen in the backer beta? I had actually thought that theme was specifically related to the town of Dyrford. I believe it was introduced as such in an earlier KS update. Would be surprised if the theme of a town that has nothing to do with the game's primary plot would be the main theme. Then again, maybe you guys are talking about some other tune entirely, and I just haven't been paying close enough attention.

I thought the pets were supposed to be unkillable (but also useless) mascots - did this change? --- +1 for helmets providing some kind of base bonus. Piglet pulled agro on some stone beetles, he died, but un-equiping and re-equiping him allowed me to re-summon. His pathing was still bad after his piggy easter, however. He does his own thing. So far it's seeming like pets aren't really going to be worth it. They're cute for about 5 minutes. Hopefully the KS exclusive pet will have something more compelling for a reason to keep it around - maybe a plus 1 to perception bonus or something. It will most likely not as people demanded that KS bonus items and pets should be only cosmetic during KS campaign and I think that Obsidian will probably stick with that as it is safest choice. Than pets will likely not be worth using, at least based on what I've seen thus far. On topic... helms are cool.

Exactly! You understand implicitly.

Sorry. I didn't have a choice. I tried ignoring him, but when I looked down and realized it was well on its way to murdering my cleric, I had to finger-of-death the poor beast.
-
Oh. My. Word. Please tell me you spared Guenhwyvar at least!

Hey, look everyone. Ink Blot was a big dodo in this thread! Hahahahaha! -

I have actually come to enjoy the inventory management mini-game, personally. Ah well, at least I've still got Wasteland 2 for that. That game is truly going old-school.
-
Only in certain respects is this true, but lack of ammunition is clearly one of those. And I don't think it requires a "hardcore rpger" to handle arrows.
-
As an I.E. guy I would most definitely prefer to have arrows/bolts. Feels like an unnecessary "streamlining" of the game without them.

I'm sure Mother Theresa would be moved by your benevolence.
