  1. I agree with Teksuni. A starwars RPG where u play a none force user is a good idea, but not for KOTOR2. KOTOR is all about the epic struggle between light and dark, and really, only a force user can defeat another force user. Besides, the ability to use force powers such as storm *starts drooling* heal *begins to drown in own drool* and crush *no more bubbles come up to surface* *dead*. Still a RPG where u play a nonforce user would present a unique and different challenge, but it just doesn't work for KOTOR.
  2. When u kill Malak in ls ending he says "...and as the darkness takes me..." This makes me beleive that when a sith is killed, his soul is trapped, in a sort of limbo. Anyway, jedi will win, simply because they are trained by jedi masters such as vandar (with the exception of Revan who was barely trained at all by his master, the twilek guy). To put it simply training, along with experience, means the jedi will win in the end.
  3. I want to see the bombed under Dantooine, and what state it is in. Onderon comes in a close second with Telos third.
  4. Oh thank u thank u thank u Adria *droning voice* all hail lord teksuni, all hail lord teksuni *droning voice This will certainly clear up many arguments about the start of the game
  5. Granted, there r differences between the jedi and samurai, and George problably drew the inspiration for the original jedi from scholars and monks. But the similarities r there, and for jedi such as Luke Skywalker, and Revan, they r most likely more based on samurai than scholars and historians. I say this since luke and revan never really become scholars, and r more like warriors, but eventually they become more peaceful (ls Revan), much like in the progression of the samurai.
  6. New chracters are not boring to me. They add a new unique personality. True, i woud like to see some chracters from KOTOR, since the originals are always the classics and most popular. This is one reason why i hav often stated i would like to see Revan, Bastila and Jolee reutrn, since they were my 3 fav chracters of KOTOR. but, despite hoping to continue playing as Revan, I am happy with the new chracters, and i am just as happy playing them. At least we get cameos. With talk of Revan in nearly evry single thread, it makes sense that he will make a cameo, but a long one, that is perhaps interconnected with the main story. Perhaps he saves u from a Sith Lord when u r not powerful enough to defeat the Sith Lord u r facing, and perhaps he sacrifices himself to do it. With Revan, will most likely come Bastila (if u chose to keep her alive in the original). After all, the bond between them means that logically, u will hav the choice to hav her alive. They most likely travel together, and do tasks for the jedi council (or did) together.
  7. It would hav to be "I have a bad feeling about this..." For my own choice of quote, it woiud have to be "The force is with you young (enter name here), but you are not a jedi yet.
  8. I would prefer an early december release, but only if the game is truly ready, and not rushed. With an early december release, i can hav a heart attack on the morning of december 25th when i (hopefully) get it on PC. Then i will hav a happy christmas, spring, summer, autumn and winter.
  9. I agree with many others. I do believe a true Jedi can beat a sith. The world is in a balance of good and evil. Good cannot exist without evil, and vice versa. I hav posted this in another thread, but i will say it here. Good can never totally destroy evil, and vice versa, simply because they need one another to survive, no mater how much they deny it.
  10. I realise this is way off topic, but i recently watched a program about the Samurai of Feudal Japan, and found many similarites between the Samurai and the Jedi. Firsly, was the that they each follow a strict code, that teaches them the rules. The Jedi follow a code of 5 steps, as do the Samurai. The Samurai code is the 5 rings. Earth, Water, Wind, Fire and The Void were created by the greatest Samurai ever, called Musashi Miyamoto, also known as Kensai, or Saint of the Sword. This Samurai code is used to acheive enlighenment for the Samurai, to find their way, to acheive peace. The Jedi use their code as a means to acheieve enlighenment, peace and to find their way in some sense. (These interpretations will not be exact, but will give you an idea.) Earth is "the Ethics of the Samurai are buried deep in the ground." Water is "Hone your skills." Wind is "Learn the opoonents tactics to defeat him." Fire is "Face the enemy without fear." The Void is "You must now forget everything about the four previous rings in order to acheive enlighenment." Can you see the similarities between the Jedi and Samurai here. A quote from Yoda. "You must unlearn, what you have learned." Next, was the weapons. For the Jedi, it is there badge of office, what gives them there identity. Each saber is unique to the Jedi that creates it. The saber is perhaps the Jedi's most important item.. The Samurai swords were unique to the owners, as each Samurai would give their swords names. For the Samurai, their sword is their soul, their most important item. The Samurai learn more than combat, they learn poetry, art, peaceful ventures. The Jedi epitomize peace, and always seek to avoid combat. Yet the Jedi still learn combat. There were female Samurai beleive it or not, just as there are female Jedi. Both are not sexist to the males. (For Samurai, it is based on family heritage, but you can see my point). The Samurai are extremly loyal to their warlord. The Jedi are very loyal to the Jedi Masters. (Well most of the Jedi, since some Jedi fall to the Dark Side). The Samurai do not fear death, and. The Jedi do not fear death either, since the final part of their code is "There is no death, there is the force." Only the very best Jedi and Samurai become Masters in their arts, and for each, it takes a lot oftime and commitment Finally, some Samurai are known as Ronin, wanderers, free spirits, since they do only what they want. We see this Ronin style take on life in Jolee. Jolee is a wanderer, a free spirit. He lives by himself in Kashyyyk, and safeguards the nature in Kashyyyk. He does what he feels like, by not taking the force to extremes, instead going for a passive, blurry grey approah to the force, and not following the teachings of the Jedi. Your character in KOTOR2 could also be called a Ronin, as could Revan. They both defied the Jedi council, and did what they thought was right by fighting in the Mandalore Wars. Well, just my thoughts, (move it if u want Moderators), tell me if you agree, or simply vote. Personnely, i think that the Jedi are indeed based upon the Samurai. Not totally of course, but in many ways.
  11. I preferred the guardian. I felt that the combat was more effective than force powers. While my other force characters would use things like force speed, I would use things like the dueling feats, to improve my characters dueling abilities. I preferred the combat to the force, i dont know why, but that is just the way i am.
  12. I hav heard on or around december 9th. I hav heard this from a few sources, but this is simply not yet confirmed. The release date will be confirmed in the next 2 weeks (this release date info was read at lucasarts KOTOR2 forums. Here is the link) http://forums.lucasarts.com/thread.jspa?th...D=1735&tstart=0 From what i hav heard on the forums, the release date looks to be early december. We can at least pin it down there (to some extent) until the official release date is confirmed.
  13. I hav heard on or around december 9th. Anyway, perhaps Sion is simply one of the weaker Sith Lords, or he has decided that a more; hands on approach is needed to some things, such as taking care of ur chracter
  14. I am guessing that some of these brand new force powers will be once u get either ds or ls points full. In this way, u r encouraged to play both ds and ls in oreder to see these master type force powers. Other powers will either be forth tier,(i am not sure how some force powers from the original can be continued) whereas others will simply be brand new. Perhaps some will stay as 3 tiers. The forth tier force powers, would be cool, damn. Perhaps things like force hurricane. (miniture hurricane, continuation of force wave) Just my thoughts.
  15. I am happy with KOTOR games, :D and nothing else is needed. As long as we hav the games, why do we need some figurines or keychains, when we can simply play the games to see what we want to. Besides, if i can
  16. The endings may not be in movie selection, but save ur game just before u beat Malak on the starforge (when he is low on health, no jedi in tubes left to recharge), and u can see the endings to your hearts content. Then watch the end credits and listen to the music, quite lovely. (Luckily u can read the credits in the back of the maual, and skip the credits. Thank the developers.)
  17. OK my earlier post was wrong about npcs, however, i still that the killing of party members will not be done, and just would not work. It just seems that kill one, and in reality all other npcs would leave before u got to them. I mean, they would investigate the killing, find out it was u, and then simply leave before u get one of the survivors aswell.
  18. Which, in a way, is basically what i hav said. The dark side can never be totally destroyed. The battle between light and dark basically represents the eternal battle between good and evil. This battle can never be totally won by either side, because evil can never be toally destroyed, as it is in all of us. Sirius is right, one dark act cannot eradicate the dark, it simply adds to the dark. U r right starwars kid, this supershadow site (thank god i hav never visited it) is nowt but garbage.
  19. There r ten joinable npcs, but some will only join if u r darkside, or r lightside. This could bring the number of joinable npcs down to around 6 depending on alignment (maybe more, maybe less). So if there were more joinable npcs, this could work (though i would never do it), but for KOTOR2, it just seems that it wouldn't work.
  20. No matter how much u try, evil can nether be totally destroyed. That is the message i get by the constant survival and resilience of the sith. Despite the jedi's best efforts, they never toally destroy the dark side. It is always there.
  21. I didn't say the jedi order would be at coruscant. What i meant was that if (and when) the jedi re-emerge, they ask u to go to Coruscant to prepare the way for there return (ls) or u simply decide to go there to destroy the jedi counil building to try to prevent there return (ds). The jedi order hav left coruscant from what i hav heard, but the sith hav yet to get to coruscant, i think, this may be due to sheer Republic will to resist and survive. Or perhaps Bastila is secretly using her Batlle Meditation (unknown to either side) to help the Republic win key battles so they can survive (ls Bastila) or to pave the way for Revan's return be weakening the Sith Lord's fleets, along with the Republic's fleet, and keeping them locked in stalemate. (ds Bastila). However unlikely this is, it does seem possibly.
  22. If u do indeed become a sith lord, u will most likely be fighting to become the dominate sith lord. I think ls or ds the jedi will re-emerge. Your orientation (ls or ds) will determine what will happen to the jedi. If they survive(ls) or fall(ds). A few hav mentioned that we may see Coruscant. Perhaps, if u r ls, u go to Coruscant to help re-establish the order. If u r ds, u go there to destroy the jedi council building. If it is like this, it gives an incentive to go to Coruscant (if Coruscant is in the game).
  23. Or perhaps the one jedi out there fighting the fight is Atris. The silver haired woman in the advert (along with the Masked Sith Guy). We know very little about Atris, perhaps she is fighting out there, trying to mantain the jedi in the galaxy, and u may search her out in an attempt to gain the strengh to defeat the sith lords. Though Atris does not know that u r searching for her. This is simply a guess, but u nether know.
  24. Perhaps it is both Atton and Kreia that ask u seperate questions. And ur theory about the Ebon Hawk is very intriging and logical. It all seems to make sense bar one thing, why r u and T3 alone on the Hawk. I hav read that u wake up semi-concious on the Ebon Hawk at one point, then wake up in the medical bay on the mining planet u hav crashed on. There u find a character. It might be Kreia or Atton, who knows. (for theories on why u and T3 r on the Hawk alone, visit my other topic) http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=13716
