  2. none of us could join your game
  3. This is a day of kings, and reminds me that I still bloody need to read the fables of Mr. Jerusalem.
  4. hahahahahahahhahaha
  5. Yeah, i'm not defending the guy and don't care if his leadership abilities compounded the fact that there was no money available for QA or not.
  6. I suspect that those saying 'it can be the programmers fault' are those who've never actually done any real programming. It's not passing the buck, there is such a thing as bad programming, but programmers DO check their own code. The real problem comes with conflicts with other peoples code and conflicts with hardware on which the code hasn't been tested. Full games that havn't been properly QAed are ALWAYS unstable, ALWAYS. Look at KotoR2, look at Hidden and Dangerous. Likewise, the reason why console games are so relatively unbuggy is the fact that the hardware is standard, so hardware conflicts are nil. Point is you can no more blame a programmer for real bugs in a game than you can blame a bus driver for being delayed by traffic and any notion to the contary simply shows a general ignorance of the process.
  7. If the programming was done right there wouldn't be a need for QA. Okay, you've officially just dropped from 'hooting peenhole' to 'jibbering idiot'.
  8. Games like Operation Flashpoint and the original Rainbow Sixs do exist, if you want the immersion of 'real combat' you should be playing those. If you want the immersion of being in an action film then you have to understand that the point of games that emulate action films is to keep the player IN the action. I mean, complaining about the lack of immersion of healing bullet wounds seems counter intuative when you've just taken 15 bullets to the head and are still running around like a mad Irishman.
  9. Please, tell us more.
  10. hee spelt iet fonetically doork.
  11. Or, at the very least 'A Sand Show' (ass).
  12. I didn't know much about the situation in Shi Lanka in reguards to Buddhism so I did some digging and this came up: http://www.tamilcanadian.com/page.php?cat=52&id=637 If this isn't an example as Buddhism being used as a tool for power then I don't know what is.
  13. Really? The leader and upper echilon of Santi Asoke was arrested and thrown in jail for up to 32 years in a move clearly designed to oppress the movement. Call it what you want, Buddhism runs Tibet and this is clearly an example of a majority ruling sect opressing a splinter-sect that was nibbling at its heels both religiously and politically. Sure, you can say that nobody is blowing themselves up or invading the middle-east, but can you really excuse it as not being fueled by the same mentality that causes all of the above? Becides this, lets not forget the warrior monks of Japan from the 10th to 16th centuries that, in varying degrees, would use buddhism as an excuse to throw their weight around over issues of politics or local resorces. And that's what it boils down to, an excuse to be a git. Don't get be wrong, even for a second, Buddhism is awsome and I wish all religions could be more like it, but it is NOT people-proof. People can, have and will abuse it for their own gain. EDIT: just to clarify again, the only reason Buddism should be lumped with any other religion is because that it still, fundimentally, sets up a hirarchy of power which can be used and abused by those at the top and uses the faith of the peons as its keystone. All the noble scriptures in the world can't save a religion from a rotten upper echilon, and even if such hasn't happened to buddhism to your satisfaction that doesn't in any way mean it couldn't. EDIT2: and while I think of it, what about the monks who burn themselves alive? It's not directly hurting anyone, thankfully, but it's still martyrdom, a tell-tale sign of extremism, even if it is a responce to opression (after all, all extremists belive themselves oppressed in some way).
  14. See above post, the 'follow or suffer' mentality that is the root problem of the fundimentals of all religious orginisations is no less present in buddhism than anywhere else.
  15. Sorry, I was way too vaige. 1960s-70s onwards saw the oppression of cirtain sects of buddhism within Tibet, notably of the Santi Asoke movement which was, frankly, persecuted for its anti-establishment mentality.
  16. Now he'll just make a witty comment about 'pixie sticks' in lue of somthing original. This is BS by the way, Bhuddist Extremists are as bad as everyone else. Just look at Tibet mid last cenutury where gangs of police-monks roamed around happily beating up the populus. No religion is people-poof, even those that don't even really define themselves as a religion.
  17. man, you need to MSN me when you're playing.
  18. You mean, Tim, the lead programmer? Childish joking aside though, bugs are way more the result of poor QA than bad programmers.
  19. Why don't you all shut up and jam. ahhhhh, so this is why it's 'gaiden'.
  20. You might have a point there, but being that all his reviews DO have fair (if sometimes long winded_ points there's really not much basis for withholding that claim when the viewer is anybody with more than half a brain. so approximately 3% of the gaming community.
  21. Yeah, they're quite amusing, and it saves us having to deal with the wider xbox community.
  22. Red Dwarf did this when they fell into the pit of suck and I never forgave them for it.
  23. Overkill is good for snipers and that's about it. Even then the sniper can just pick up a fallen weapon anyway, so it's really for when the path to the camping spot isn't clear.
  24. I'd be tempted if it weren't for timezone crap.
  25. No, it's normal except that you don't respawn when you die until the end of the round. If you've ever played Counter-Strike it's basically the same.
