  1. It should be noted that 'Steel Battalion' has a perma-death system of being able to save between levels, but a death in that level means the save is removed. Brutal, but given that the game comes with its own control deck, those without 'hardcore' tatooed into their foreheads need not apply.
  2. I guess it's possible to lean too far both ways. 'Lightning-proof' athiests are pretty funny too.
  3. Actually, now that you bring it up Hades, how do you rate Mass Effect from a purely roleplaying standpoint? Would Mass Effect in the Fallout Engine with Fallouts gameplay and no VA be a step up or down in this department? I still havn't played the game, so I have no opinion either way, but in terms of actual 'roleplaying' Fallout gave the player more options than just about any other RPG out there.
  4. Slightly offtopic, but what I love is the religious types who will try to throw science out of the window rather than intigrate it into what they belive. DINOSAURS TEST OUR FAITH, CARBON DATING DOESN'T WORK! kind of crap.
  5. I didn't know that indecent exposure laws extended beyond what can reasonably be seen with the naked eye.
  6. They're both still awsome, so it's good either way.
  7. Hades is a team of sociological scientists testing your reations to stimuli. EDIT: and is it kind of sad that you can tell how long someone has been here by what name they refer to him with?
  8. Brace for Hades rant.
  9. If you mean that Orks american football game, then actually, you might be in luck, i've heard of a Blood Bowl game coming to the 360. Early days yet though.
  10. <3 Fire Emblem. I found Sacred Stones to be the weaker of the two GBA versions though.
  11. if 09 is only a few months away, yeah, i'll wait and pick it up after the inevitable price drop.
  12. Hmm, still pretty pricey.
  13. Because having a female spy do the same things as a male spy would be out of context for the (assumed) semi-realistic international espionarge setting. Chick spys get different training and different mission profiles, so what would be 'character creation!' to you would be 'crappy continuity!' to all the spy buffs out there, or indeed, anyone who cares more about immersion than a pretty butt. This isn't an excuse, but what i'm saying is that the setting in this case is unlike basically any other RPG ever made because the PCs gender actually does matter, on which basis it COULD be said that creating a female character would hamper the story. For example, Indiana Jones being a chick wouldn't actually matter, in terms of plots, nor would Luke Skywalker or Neo, but if James Bond were a chick, key elements of Casino Royal would have had to have been altered. Don't get me wrong though, in an RPG where gender actually matters I would love to be able to play both genders (assuming they were equally catered to). RPGs have little enough replayability as it is, but that's accepting the limits of the devs I guess.

Both times i've been in San Fransisco people were nothing but polite.
  15. The first series of the american version uses exactly the same script, so it really depends on your liking the actors.
  16. Pretty much, yeah, the only level in Goldeneye where stealth was useful was the facility one where you start in the prision, on the highest difficulty. It was the only way I was able to complete it anyway.
  17. Dude, Hades isn't a scientologist. Is he?
  18. Is there really any more difference between the two geners in Mass Effect as there is in any other RPG? I mean, in Fallout, playing a chick meant you could sometimes hump your way out of a problem, but that was about the limit of it. I'm all for gender equality, but that is what most RPGs go for, and there's no real difference between one or the other.
  19. Yeah, forced stealth is SO 1990s.
  20. FF6 was the first to make that jump with its 'twisted industrial revolution', 9 is the only one past that which has the medievaly thing going on.
  21. Oh, yeah, Theif kicks NOLF clean out of the water on the stealth front, but Theif is a stealth game, not an FPS with stealth elements. The problem is that in Theif, you're stealthy because if you're not, you're dead, while in NOLF a lot of the stealth was stealth for stealths sake, when it was often quicker and easier just to run and gun. I don't think I played on the highest difficalty though, so that could well be why.
