  1. I've never played it, but apparently Call of Jarez has some good ones. That is to say, on every level there's an achevement, not for completing the level, but for going 'beyond the call of duty' on that level in some way. To those who have played CnC3 and are familiar with the sub objective system (completing all sub objectives gives an extra band to the medal awarded at the end of a level) then the achevement system, implimented well, should be a boon. I never gave a crap about the actual band on the medal, but that didn't mean I didn't go out of my way to complete every sub objective, simply because they were fun. Not that i'm saying that there arn't a LOT of retarded achevements out there, but that's not the fault of the system itself.
  2. Which is a step up for some of us! Actually, I should really buy Sins of a Solar empire just on principle, but HoI2 addict mode
  3. Did someone say perfect score? What are you doing? It's called a walk-on, play along.
  4. 10/10 eh? Almost like it's got some flaws, but is the best at what it does.
  5. Not even slightly, though somtimes the console company pays for exclusive rights to a game. This is normally only done to shift consoles (and thus, gain a higher market share) and either way it's somebody having to make up for an extra cost with higher game prices.
  6. Walkerguy feels the same way about Hentai. wink wink.
  7. Ahhh, so now it's only 'statistically relevant' lost sales, that's cool, you just keep making broad sweeping statements then changing them at your convenience before claiming that other people don't have 'substance in their arguments' for pointing out that your broad sweeping statements are broad sweeping statements. Carry on, carry on.
  8. I'm not saying that piracy is the cause of poor PC game sales, i'm just calling you out on the claim that piracy doesn't mean any lost sales at all, unless you live in la-la land. I don't see what your problem with this concept is, nor why you're quite so aggressive about it. It sounds to me like you're just trying to justify being a pirate.
  9. Bad PC game sales =/= Lost PC game sales. Nice work not actually backing up your claim.
  10. Dude, you look at hentai? That's nasty man, that's nasty, getting it on over cartoons. I thought better of you man.
  11. Dude, i'm not gay.
  12. I have, but pink is more fun. Likewise, I wouldn't be flying the plane if it wasn't pink, i've already got loads of 'normal' ones. I'm just too manly for any other colour.
  13. Next you're going to tell me to stop using pink armour in Halo3.
  14. Ironically, their sense of satire was always the thing I liked best about GTA, in GTA3 I would cruise around from place to place with the talkshow on, just because it cracked me up.
  15. The fun in achevements is in getting them. 'Grinding' achevements can go screw a rock, but the good ones are those that encorage you to play in a way you wouldn't otherwise consider or a way that pushes your skills to the limit. I don't care about the boast potential, but thinking of them as extra objectives that increase the playability of a game is the right way to aproch these. A good exacmple is the 'pacifist' achevement in Geo Wars, which 'rewards' you by simply staying alive for a set amount of time, likewise the 'Dot Eater' from Ikaruga. Conversly, CoD4 had pretty boring achevements, 70% of them were either 'complete this level' or 'complete this level on this diff', both of which I would do anyway in my standard playthroughs of a game. Gamerscore/boasting is irrelivent, but if you don't like the extra objectives then nobody is forcing you to play them, dissing the system as a whole seems pointless.
  16. I've got a friend who swears that VC is the best, despite being the 'least popular' for the same reasons.. I didn't play it much back in the day, but looking back I can see what you both mean.
  17. Yeah, the 22 is top-teir at dogfighting, long range AA and the SOD is easily good enough for most bombing missions. I never really used it much though, for some reason, perfering the 33 or 37. For the PC I perfer WW2 flight sims and space sims, as it happens. I cut my teeth on them, but the platform is dead.
  18. Looks like we have a winner, I went for the 22, Llyranor for the 33, because the third member of our idiot squad stole the Rafale.
  19. I probably should have made this into a poll or somthing. Ooops. Still, it looks like the Rafale is winning.
  20. You make a good point, D_N, you make a good point.
  21. It's a tossup, I can't choose between this custom Rafale M And this custom F-22 While the 22 has, stealth and slightly better stats, save for defence i'm not a big fan of the aircraft itself. In favour of the Rafale, it has SAAM (Semi active missles, long range AA) so it basically comes down to those vs QAAMs (Quick manover missles, short range highly accurate AA). In terms of colour sceme, both stand out like a sore thumb and fire missles that do the same, so no problem there. Please help me guys, I just can't decide!
  22. *I'M* getting tired of you insulting and baiting Anne Coulter.
  23. Yeah, multiplication is a whole different kettle of fish.
